The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

Concubine Qin wanted to follow. The housekeeper blocked her way and gently said, ”Concubine Qin, the Prince isn’t in the best mood. Please let him have some peace.”

Concubine Qin looked at the housekeeper who had stopped her, feeling quite displeased inwardly, though outwardly she didn’t show it. Instead, she asked with a concerned expression, ”What happened to the Prince? Where did the Prince go earlier?”

The housekeeper remained silent and did not answer.

Concubine Qin asked again, ”What’s troubling the Prince? You know, don’t you? Tell me, perhaps I can ease the Prince’s worries?”

This time, the housekeeper spoke, but still didn’t answer Concubine Qin’s question, instead saying, ”Concubine Qin, I take my leave.”

After speaking, the housekeeper headed to the study.

Concubine Qin stood there watching the housekeeper’s departing figure, secretly cursing, thinking what a damn servant, what a thing!

The housekeeper didn’t tell Concubine Qin anything, but that didn’t mean she was out of options. Although she had only been in the Prince Kang Mansion for a month, Concubine Qin’s influence was already considerable.

The servants in the Prince Mansion all knew how much Prince Kang cherished this concubine, someone he insisted on marrying, even at the risk of offending the Emperor and the Prime Minister.

So the servants in the mansion tried to curry favor and please this concubine.

When Concubine Qin asked where the Prince had gone earlier, someone naturally told her, withholding nothing.

Then Concubine Qin understood what had happened earlier.

It turned out the Princess had long separated the rear courtyard from the front courtyard with a wall. Concubine Qin, upon hearing this, was extremely surprised. In such a society dominated by royal authority, where women regarded their husbands as paramount, this Princess dared to do such a shocking thing.

No wonder the Prince went to find her. Such an act must have left the Prince humiliated. Surely the Prince went to ask her to tear down the wall, didn’t he?

However, judging by the Prince’s expression, he seemed not to have convinced the Princess.

This was too amusing, just a woman from ancient times, and the Prince couldn’t handle her and had to negotiate?

This is Prince Kang Mansion; if the Prince feels uncomfortable, he should simply order the wall torn down. Why consider the Princess’s feelings?

Concubine Qin sneered, leading her servants back to her courtyard. She knew that the Prince was in a bad mood, so it wasn’t necessary to address this issue now; better to wait until the Prince was in better spirits.

In the evening, Concubine Qin sent someone to invite Prince Kang over for dinner. She was confident Prince Kang would come because he always found her culinary creations intriguing.

Not disappointing Concubine Qin, Prince Kang indeed arrived at dusk.

”Prince, you’ve come. Tonight we’re having spicy hot pot.” Concubine Qin greeted him cheerfully, making no mention of the afternoon’s troubles. She knew some matters shouldn’t be broached directly.

”What is spicy hot pot?” Prince Kang asked curiously.

”You’ll know when you taste it. Before serving, I have something I want to show you.” Concubine Qin took Prince Kang’s hand and led him to sit in front of the desk.

”Show what?” Prince Kang’s curiosity was piqued.

”This is something I’ve drawn myself. I want to open a high-end jewelry store in the capital, exclusively selling to noblewomen and prominent ladies. Women’s money is the easiest to make, and with profits, we could buy a manor and build a hot spring, enjoying it together in the winter.” Concubine Qin showed Prince Kang her sketches, laid them on the table, signaling him to look.
