The Darling of Heaven Owns a Rip-off Shop

When Yi Lan and Tianmiao were about to take their leave, the Moon Rabbit looked utterly reluctant to part with them.

”Little Radish, remember to come play with me often, okay? Whenever you come, I’ll make you tasty mooncakes.” The Moon Rabbit said to Tianmiao, full of unwillingness to let her go.

”Okay, Sister Moon Rabbit, goodbye.” Tianmiao waved at the Moon Rabbit.

The Moon Rabbit covered her face and turned around, waving at Yi Lan and Tianmiao. ”Hurry on now, hurry on now. If you don’t go, I’ll change my mind and refuse to let you leave.”

Yi Lan shot the Moon Rabbit a glare, then hurried away, carrying Tianmiao in her arms.

Only after Yi Lan’s footsteps had faded into the distance did the Moon Rabbit slowly turn back, watching the two figures as their silhouettes gradually disappeared.

She stood there for a long time before finally turning around and slowly heading back.

The days that followed for Tianmiao were all about cultivation, and being carried by Yi Lan to visit her various friends.

Yi Lan had very good relationships with many little Immortals, and every time Tianmiao went out, she returned loaded with gifts. The little Immortals would always stuff all sorts of things into Tianmiao’s hands—things to eat, things to play with, and things to look at.

”Senior Sister, you have so many really good friends, and they all like you so much.” Tianmiao said, holding a sewn cloth tiger and squeezing the cloth tiger’s tail.

”Mm, they’re all very nice.” Yi Lan looked at the cloth tiger in Tianmiao’s hands and smiled. ”That cloth tiger is a toy that mortal children like to play with. My little junior sister is very nice too, so everyone likes you and gives you things.”

”Senior Sister is the very best.” Tianmiao shook her head and said seriously.

Hearing this, Yi Lan couldn’t help but laugh. In her little junior sister’s heart, she was probably the very best of all.

...

The Flat Peach Banquet finally arrived, and the entire Heavenly Court grew bustling and lively.

The little Immortals were busy making preparations, and the rich fragrance of fine wine and exquisite dishes filled the whole Heavenly Court. Yi Lan went to help as well. Before leaving, she told Tianmiao not to run around and to stay inside Cold Mountain Palace. Lately many Immortals had ascended to the Heavenly Court, and it was far too chaotic; she was worried her junior sister might be spirited away.

Tianmiao nodded in agreement. Every day that Yi Lan went out to help, she would cultivate, and after finishing her cultivation, she would sit at the gate of Cold Mountain Palace reading while waiting for Yi Lan to return.

That day, guests came to Cold Mountain Palace—a delicately featured woman and a handsome man with a cold, stern expression.

”Oh my, little Immortal, may I ask if True Monarch Hanshan is in?” The delicate-featured woman smiled and greeted Tianmiao.

”Master is here.” Tianmiao stood up. ”Are you two friends of my Master?”

”You’re the new little disciple True Monarch Hanshan accepted?” the woman asked gently with a smile. ”My name is Xu Xian, and this is my husband Bai Suzhen. We’ve come to visit your Master. Could you help announce us?” (This world is the world of ”One Thousand Years Waiting for a Snake 1.” See my list of works; there’s a first and a second part. Xu Xian and Bai Suzhen swap genders in a lighthearted short piece.)

”Mm, I’m Master’s little disciple, my name is Tianmiao. Since you’re Master’s friends, please follow me. I’ll take you to sit in the main hall first, then go find Master.” Tianmiao turned to lead the way, making a polite inviting gesture.

Xu Xian pressed her lips together in a smile and quietly sent a voice transmission to Bai Suzhen: ”This child is so adorable. I wonder where your uncle found her.”

”She is pretty adorable. Want a little girl? Then shall we have another child?” Bai Suzhen asked.

”We’ll see what fate has in store. It only happens if there’s enough fate.” Xu Xian replied. For Immortals to have children, they could only rely on destiny; it wasn’t something they could have just because they wanted to.

”We will.” The corners of Bai Suzhen’s mouth lifted in a faint smile.
