Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1445: Chapter 1444: Is It That Complicated?

Gu Tong explained calmly, ”Dean, there’s something you might not know. Our elective course looks simple on the surface, but in fact there are a lot of tricks hidden in it. It needs a very meticulous teaching plan.”

”Oh?” Dean Huang Zhizhong grew interested and said, ”Is it very complicated?”

Gu Tong put on a straight face and started talking it up. ”It’s not exactly very complicated, it’s just that the course content is a bit all over the place, and the students don’t usually get much exposure to it. Take what we’ve been covering in class these days for example: we have to instill some psychology knowledge, and also systematically build up the students’ physical fitness, plus teach the structure of the equipment, and the techniques for assembling it. And for those with weak basics, we have to start right from the ground up.”

”Our elective course time is limited, there’s no way to cram everything into the students in a short period. So we discussed some simple methods that would let us gradually feed them what they need to learn while they’re in class. It’s killing two birds with one stone.”

Dean Huang Zhizhong couldn’t help thinking of that PE class Gu Tong taught the other day. He’d heard about it and had even asked the PE teacher.

According to the PE teacher, that had definitely been a PE class that could be called a full-on psychology integration class...

Back then, Dean Huang Zhizhong had thought the teacher was exaggerating. Looking at it now, it was very likely something Gu Tong had deliberately designed.

”If you’re teaching like that, then the materials would indeed be hard to put together...” Dean Huang Zhizhong coughed and said, ”Looks like... the administration really did misunderstand you, Teacher Gu. We thought you weren’t putting much effort into it...”

Gu Tong let out a soft laugh, unconcerned. ”I don’t have time to worry about what other people think. Doing my own thing is enough. Of course, the one who really has it hard isn’t me; that would be the assistant teacher. He’s the one who compiles all the teaching plans. I just look at the materials he’s organized, which saves me a lot of trouble.”

Dean Huang Zhizhong nodded. ”Then Teacher Jiang Lihao really has been working hard...”

”It’s not hard, not hard at all.” Jiang Lihao hurriedly waved his hands, suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed. ”This is what I should be doing...”

All he’d really done was cover classes when Teacher Gu Tong wasn’t around; he hadn’t done anything particularly special. How did that end up getting him praised like this? Thinking that, Jiang Lihao couldn’t help blushing.

Seizing the opening, Sheng Yiweng chimed in slickly, ”The classroom atmosphere in the Elective Class is just especially good—lively and engaging, and what we learn is really fresh. The way Teacher Gu Tong teaches is very appealing to us, so without even realizing it, we remember all the key points she talks about. Lots of students from other classes see how our lessons go and all want to squeeze in, pestering Teacher Jiang to sign them up. It’s gotten to the point where the Elective Class is packed. If it keeps going like this, the multifunctional classroom is going to run out of seats soon.”

Dean Huang Zhizhong: ”...” If he remembered correctly, what he’d heard was clearly that Teacher Gu Tong was poaching students. How did it turn into a completely different story once he got to the Elective Class side? As expected, you can’t listen to just one side. You have to understand both, then you can make an objective and accurate judgment.

Still.

To be honest.

Deep down, Dean Huang Zhizhong leaned more toward the Elective Class. After all, he had also sat in on the Internal Medicine class, and he’d always felt that aside from the monotonous study atmosphere, all it had was a sort of force-feeding, oppressive environment—nothing much worth emulating.

Of course.

As a dean, he also cared about grades.

You can’t just look at teaching atmosphere on one side or teaching performance on the other; you have to weigh them together.

That’s the problem of getting the balance right.

And it’s a tough issue that every teaching instructor has to face. There’s no avoiding it; it’s something they simply have to deal with.
