Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1402: Chapter 1401: Indeed, It’s a Heritage Site Left Behind

Originally, it was believed that the Wei Family was only constructing a tourist area.

But now it has become an issue of residential rights, mixing the two together really makes it extremely difficult.

Gu Tong drew out a paper and said calmly, ”According to the size of the land, the reason for the Wei Family’s halting construction is likely due to a break in their funding chain. With such a large area of land, their Wei Family may not be able to handle it.”

The East Suburb is not just a few plots of land, but an entire area. Even for a famous and reputable family, it’s difficult to swallow it whole, let alone a smaller family like the Wei Family.

Moreover, the price of agricultural land greatly differs from residential land. If the land use rights are changed, the Wei Family would need to pay a substantial amount, which is the fundamental issue.

Feng Ruyue thought for a moment and agreed with some reasoning, saying, ”But if it were put up for bidding, it’s not impossible. After all, with such a large area here, many people would be tempted.”

Gu Tong laughed, ”Therefore, our Feng Family is in the way. The Feng Family is blocking an important area; it cannot be moved. Moreover, we have residential usage rights, which don’t involve changes in usage rights. Coupled with the historical building, there’s also the right to priority renewal.”

”Even if the Wei Family owns more land, ultimately, it’s the highest bidder that wins. Furthermore, now Shoucheng is expanding the Southern Suburb. As for the East Suburb, who knows when the work will begin? If it doesn’t start for ten years, then the money will be dragged out for ten years, and even the wealthiest families will be exhausted.”

These words are indeed correct.

Gu Tong has shifted the mode, thinking along the Wei Family’s line.

After all, the crux of the problem now is plainly a money issue.

Feng Wencheng’s eyes lit up and said, ”That reasoning also makes sense. The highest bidder gets the land. We initially feared the Wei Family’s determination and their malicious price raising, which led us to consider negotiation. But now, the Wei Family is already short on funds. If we raise the price at this time, we won’t need to worry about the ancestral house and shrine being taken.”

Given this reasoning, the situation isn’t as complicated. It could be directly handled with some mediation, smoothly and effortlessly.

However.

Feng Ruyue doesn’t quite think so. She agrees with Feng Wencheng’s correctness but also perceives deeper meaning in Gu Tong’s words. She held Gu Tong’s hand and asked, ”Gu Tong girl, do you have other ideas?”

Gu Tong smiled slightly and said, ”It’s not exactly an idea, just a thought. If I remember correctly, Longxing Country once issued an ’Inalienable Cultural Property Protection Law’, which must adhere to the principle of not altering the original state of cultural property, protecting the safety of buildings and their affiliated cultural properties from damage, renovation, extension, or demolition, including inalienable cultural properties.”

Feng Wencheng was slightly taken aback and said, ”The classical mansion of the Feng Family is indeed a historical relic, considering we can apply for it as an inalienable cultural property.”

”Indeed, once we apply for the inalienable cultural property status, we can proceed with the subsequent plans.” Gu Tong thought for a moment and said, ”The expansion of the East Suburb definitely also requires contracting. The Wei Family’s funding chain shortage doesn’t make them the best choice. But if our Feng Family utilizes the advantage of cultural heritage to contract it, establishing it as an ancient street of culture in Shoucheng, a sightseeing landmark, merging it with a modern scenic area, it should be something Shoucheng would be glad to see, and the official support would be guaranteed.”

The Wei Family can fight for land, the Feng Family can equally preserve their ancestral mansion; both have their advantages.
