“Good afternoon, students.

The self-serving cafeteria has prepared delicious meals for you and we welcome you to choose from them.

If needed, you may dine in Room Three along the corridor.”

“When leaving your seats, please adjust the chairs back to their normal positions.

You are allowed to bring your pets into the cafeteria.”

“For your convenience and others’, please take the dishes in order and dine civilly.

Students who brought their pets, please make sure to keep an eye on your friends, pets running wild in the cafeteria are strictly prohibited.

Before taking food, you may ask the little elves for utensils and please return the utensils to the elves after your meal.

Thank you for your cooperation.”

At noon, the cabin’s broadcast aired the gentle announcement from the flight attendant.

Zheng Qing couldn’t wait to fold up the small table and rubbed his stomach.

He was really hungry.

Although he always seemed calm at home, he was the only one who knew the tension and unrest in his heart.

Before leaving, he had only eaten three or five dumplings from the last meal at home.

He then had half a bowl of millet porridge with small dishes and put down his chopsticks.

Under the strict gaze of Professor Zheng, he reluctantly ate a boiled egg.

By now, that bit of food was thoroughly digested.

“Let’s go, let’s go eat together!” Li Meng waved his small fists and happily shouted, “I’ve been wanting to try the buffet on the charter flight.

My cousin told me that the buffet on this flight is very delicious!”

“Where’s your cousin?

Aren’t you going to call her to join us?” Asked Zheng Qing as he stood up and looked around.

“She lives right in Beta Town.” Li Meng’s mood seemed a bit low when he mentioned his cousin, “This year, Jiuyou Academy only accepted two scholarship students.

My cousin ranked third in the admissions results and missed the scholarship quota.

So, she locked herself in the tower and did experiments for the whole summer.”

“So does that mean that only the top two freshmen in the college entrance examination rankings are scholarship students this year?” Zheng Qing’s heart began to cheer.

He unexpectedly turned out to be the Legend of the Top Students!

He grinned and wanted to share his results with his new friends.

“My sister said that she would challenge the two people ranked higher than her at the start of school!” Li Meng clenched his fists, looked at the two people next to him and said fiercely, “You guys must come with me to cheer on my sister!

We will squish those two stuck-up boys.”

Zheng Qing laughed awkwardly, cancelling his plans to flaunt his grades, and hugged Poseidon, his pet, tighter.

“Of course, if you are the top student, I can speak for you to my sister, and she will spare you.” Li Meng hesitated for a moment, pouting at Xiao Xiao.

“I’m greatly thankful.” Xiao Xiao replied perfunctorily, stuffing the old turtle in his arms into his pocket.

Zheng Qing licked his teeth, hesitating whether or not to tell Li Meng that he was the second-ranked scholarship student.

In the aisle, several young wizards in neat robes walked past them.

A strong fragrance invaded Zheng Qing’s nostrils.

He couldn’t help but sneeze a few times, spraying out all the flattering words he had organized for Li Meng to say, completely forgetting everything.

“What smell is this?

It smells like my next-door neighbor’s French Curly-haired Dog.” Li Meng wrinkled his nose and also sneezed.

“Calvin Early Summer.

It’s the main men’s perfume from Nina Company this summer, it’s quite popular among young noble wizards.

It has a fresh wild citrus scent.

If you gently pat it on the side of your neck, it will bring a refreshing citrus aroma, which is very suitable for warm and gentle men.

If you spray it directly onto your clothes, the scent and the clothes interact with each other to create a striking aroma.

The effect is crap.

Just like you smelled, it’s no different than a poodle that has rolled around in a perfume barrel.” Xiao Xiao replied boredly.

“Is there anything you don’t know?” Zheng Qing looked at the watermelon-headed boy with admiration on his face.

Xiao Xiao glanced at him and didn’t answer.

…

Following the corridor and passing through a cabin door, Zheng Qing entered a spacious room.

This is the style that a wizard ought to have, he silently admired in his heart.

Compared to the previous cramped, confined space, this dining hall seemed much more expansive and bright, almost like a large reception room.

Neither the lavish chandeliers, nor the towering floor-to-ceiling windows, and certainly not the small garden in the middle of the hall, could be accommodated by an ordinary airplane.

Zheng Qing easily deduced that some spells must have been used to expand the space here.

On the left of the dining hall was a line of food counters, neatly laid out with colorful and fragrant varieties of delicious dishes.

Near the entrance was a fruit platter, followed by grilled food, stir-fries, stews, seafood, vegetarian food and so on, and finally some soups, pastries, and drinks.

Young wizards queued with restraint, greedily piling delicious food onto their plates.

On the right of the dining hall was a U-shaped mahogany bar.

Behind the bar was a large wine rack, and various colored drinks in glass bottles leaned against the wooden rack, shimmering with transparent luster under the light.

Some tall bar stools were casually placed outside the bar.

Zheng Qing saw a dozing snake coiled up on one of the stools.

Some wonderful melody drifted in from somewhere, filling the entire dining hall with a joyful and relaxed ambiance.

Zheng Qing looked up to see hundreds of palm-sized elves carrying brass trays with silver tongs, flashing with faint green light as if they were a swarm of large fireflies darting around the corners of the dining hall.

“Are all the elves green?” he asked as he received a tray from an elf and followed Xiao Xiao, putting a slice of watermelon onto his plate.

“That’s not a professional question,” Xiao Xiao waved the tongs in her hand and picked a few grapes onto her plate, “Elves are a large genus with three species.

Plant species, egg species, and life species, also known as the Seed, Incubation, and Regeneration series.

Each type of elf is completely different.

Elves grown from seeds are all green, those hatched from eggs are mostly white, occasionally golden; the Regeneration elves are all blue and are rare, also known as Blue Elves.”

After adding some apple slices onto his plate, Zheng Qing handed the tray back to the elves.

Watching them spin joyously in the air with their tongs, they weaved in a delightful dance in tune with the light music in the dining hall.

Li Meng chirped at their sides, constantly stuffing his plate full of food.

“You just mentioned ‘planting’.

Does it mean that these green little creatures are grown from seeds?” he mused while imagining burying a dead elf into the ground, and then watching an eerie tree of elves spring forth, its branches bedecked with elves sticking out their tongues, glowing with a green light.

He shivered, shaking his head.

Using a wooden spoon, he added some mashed potatoes to his plate.

“I know the answer to that!” Li Meng briskly raised his plate, “Bury the seeds in the ground, water them with a potion, and within a month, you get a bunch of elves!”

“A month!” Zheng Qing was momentarily lost in thought, and the quail egg he had clamped in his tongs slipped back into its dish.

“Yes, here it is.” Li Meng handed her plate to the fluttering elves beside her and took out a small wooden box from her pocket.

Opening the lid, on the soft red velvet, lay a handful of seeds that looked just like light green peas.

Hehe!

Hehe!

A swarm of elves gathered around, twitching their antennae, staring carefully at the seeds in the box.

Li Meng guarded the box with one hand, swiftly took out a seed with the other, and handed it to Zheng Qing, “This is a standard-sized Elf Seed.

It’s highly adaptable to the environment.

Any three-property potion can make it sprout.”

The elves watched longingly as Li Meng put away the box and could only let out a disappointed sigh.

The seed felt as smooth as jade to the touch, but much heavier than it appeared.

As Zheng Qing toyed with it admiringly, he returned the seed to Li Meng.

“It’s yours!” With a very generous wave, the girl turned around and directed several elves to carry her plate to a table.
