Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 1158: Chapter 1159: Thinking So Far Ahead

The property transfer deed.

It was transferred to Meng Xinian.

Along with the transfer deed came a property gift certificate.

Meng Xinian took over the Meng Family Old Mansion and immediately gifted it unconditionally to Chiang Xiao.

”I’m not seeing things, am I? This is the Meng Family’s house?” Chiang Xiao was shocked.

”Yes, it’s the one we’re currently living in, inside the Alliance District Courtyard. However, you’ll need to write a guarantee,” Meng Xinian sat down beside her, pulling out the next sheet of paper, ”I’ve already written it for you, you just need to sign. This is because the house’s location is special, inside the Courtyard, so it’s not permitted to be bought or sold until the purpose of the Courtyard is changed and the security unit is disbanded.”

That it’s not allowed for just anyone to live inside the Courtyard.

Even this gift certificate he had to get someone to help arrange.

It was precisely because he found someone that Chiang Xiao’s age was no longer a restriction.

Which means, as long as Chiang Xiao signed a few documents, the house would change ownership immediately, transforming from the Meng family ancestral home into Chiang Xiao’s private property.

She couldn’t even give it away or sell it.

It could only belong to her, and no one else could take it from her.

”Why suddenly give me the house...” Chiang Xiao was utterly bewildered.

”I like to see you being arrogant,” Meng Xinian reached out to ruffle her hair. He had wanted to kiss her, but after all, they were outside, in the restaurant, and he still had to be mindful of their image, ”Now living at home, some can still nag at you, calling you an outsider, how can you stand it? Sign the documents, and later on, you can go home and strut around as the homeowner and the lady of the house.”

Pfft.

Chiang Xiao almost burst out laughing.

”This ’someone,’ does it include everyone currently living at home?” Chiang Xiao glanced at him sideways.

Meng Xinian said, ”Everyone but me.”

”What if I wanted to kick them all out?”

”I’ll help you kick them out.”

Chiang Xiao looked at him, feeling an itch to tug on his ear.

”Officer Meng, aren’t you afraid of a bad image! What if people say you’re unfilial!”

”Not afraid, I’ll pay to rent them houses to live in, or, find them dormitories, free sanatoriums and the like, I’ll definitely not let them wander the streets.”

Chiang Xiao felt a sourness in her heart.

This guy should actually be a man of loyalty and deep feelings, what forced him to be so hard-hearted towards his family now?

Others may criticize him, disdain him, say he’s faithless, unfilial, and so on, but she could never do that.

”I don’t want it. It’s fine for the house to stay in your name.” She pushed the documents back to him.

Meng Xinian said softly, ”Kitten, be good and do as you’re told, consider it a betrothal gift.”

Chiang Xiao’s face heated up, ”Isn’t it too early for a betrothal gift now!”

”Not early. Two years left, over the next two years, I’ll give a little every half a year, I’m poor, so the betrothal gifts need to be saved up.”

Chiang Xiao: ”...”

Is this really called being poor?

Three years ago, he had already given her five thousand, now he wants to give her a house in the Alliance District Courtyard, and from the sound of it, that’s not enough, he’s going to give at least three more times?

Is she really worth that much...

”I don’t want it...”

”In the future, our home will be run by you; if these aren’t given to you, who should they be given to?” Meng Xinian added.

Chiang Xiao felt somewhat overwhelmed.

Now they’re even talking about being in charge of the household, isn’t it really too early!

”But...”

”Keep it, and if you don’t want it later, you can pass it on to our son.”

”Our son... Meng Xinian! What nonsense are you spouting!” Mentioning being in charge was one thing, but he even brought up having a son!

She’s only sixteen now, even if she got married at eighteen, she couldn’t possibly have a child at eighteen!

”I don’t favor sons over daughters, you can pass it on to our daughter too.”

”And you’re still going on! When will you ever stop!”
