Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 733: Chapter 734: The Conditions for Her

However, this was only under the premise that no one challenged her.

If someone did provoke her, she would still hit back.

Fortunately, besides Zou Xiaoling and Yu Chunyu, the other teachers and students were quite nice.

As for those two women, who were not her teachers, she simply ignored them.

Zou Xiaoling gradually became dispirited, and Yu Chunyu always seemed to carry a bit of resentment and anxiety, but that had nothing to do with her.

”Principal, did you call me here for something?”

”Yes, didn’t you fill out a form to apply for County No. 3 High School?”

Chiang Xiao nodded, she knew it was about this.

”Our school’s direct advancements are usually to County No. 1 High School and Second High School. The principals and directors of these two schools have each called me, and after learning that you’re applying to the Third High School, they made offers, hoping to get you to join their schools. But I already knew your intentions, so I turned them down on your behalf.”

”Thank you, Principal. I indeed never considered going to the First or Second High School.”

The First and Second High Schools are the standard direct-advancement high schools from each town’s middle schools, with no particular barriers, and their conditions are just average. Chiang Xiao had never considered them.

”But now, the Fourth High School also wants to attract you there,” said Principal Chu, looking at her with pride and a touch of reluctance. He was beginning to regret it now—what if he hadn’t allowed Chiang Xiao to skip grades? He could have kept her at the town middle school a bit longer.

Now, after just one year of study, she was moving to another school, which he truly found difficult to let happen.

Such an outstanding student, he honestly hadn’t encountered one like her before.

However, in just one year, Chiang Xiao had already won quite a few honors for the school.

”Principal, I...”

Principal Chu waved his hand, ”Listen to me first. The conditions offered by the Fourth High School, I think are quite good too. First of all, of course, is the waiver of all your tuition and miscellaneous fees, and then, you’ll be assigned a dorm room, a separate set of quarters. The principal of the Fourth High School, after hearing about your family’s situation, specifically came up with this offer. The quarters consists of a two-bedroom apartment, where you could completely bring your grandparents over.”

Chiang Xiao was momentarily taken aback; she hadn’t expected the Fourth High School to offer such conditions.

Without a doubt, these conditions were very attractive indeed.

She didn’t have a house in the county seat.

And she didn’t want to leave her grandparents in Peace Town.

She was already moving towards her goals step by step, intending to leave Siyang Village, leave Peace Town, continue moving outward; now heading to the county seat, how could she leave her grandparents behind here?

Yet, Chiang Xiao still shook her head. If it were just about saving on rent, she would have considered moving to the provincial city already.

She had her own house in City M, why bother going to the county seat?

Wasn’t her willingness to attend high school in the county seat because of the conditions that Principal Fu Mingfeng had offered and what he had said to her?

Throughout the year, she and Principal Fu Mingfeng had corresponded occasionally; he had shared many things about the Third High School with her in his letters. She had been longing to attend the Third High School for six months now; why would she change her mind and go to the Fourth High School?

Principal Chu was actually considering her interests; he had called her over after hearing such conditions, not expecting that Chiang Xiao would not even consider it.

He continued, ”The Fourth High School has also offered another condition: they’ve already made contact with a renowned school in Capital City. At the start of the new term, there will be an opportunity for four exchange students, and the school will reserve one of the slots for you, for a period of one month. All expenses in Capital City for that month will be fully covered by the school.”

To be an exchange student in Capital City for a month?
