Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 719: Chapter 720: Haven’t Married Yet Anyway

”You might not think it’s a lot, and moreover, I want several different designs,” Chiang Xiao knew the quantity she wanted was indeed not much.

But Wei Honger didn’t seem to mind, ”If we can fire it, we can take the order. But I heard you want to make it yourself?”

Chiang Xiao shook her head, ”I don’t live here often, so I might not have the time to do it myself. I just want to know, if I draw the designs, can you help me make them?”

”Draw...”

At this moment, Wei Honger looked at her with some hesitation.

What could such a young girl draw? Could it be some fanciful ideas coupled with weird and bizarre depictions, or perhaps drawings that were completely indiscernible?

How would they go about making that?

Chiang Xiao had come prepared. She had already drawn several cup designs beforehand and now took them out from her bag to show Wei Honger.

Upon seeing the designs on the paper, Wei Honger was instantly astonished, ”This is drawn?” She couldn’t help but reach out and touch the drawing.

Indeed, it was a drawing.

But the drawing was so lifelike, it was as if the cups were three-dimensional and glued onto the paper.

”Yeah, it’s drawn,” Chiang Xiao then took out another piece of paper with her own design of a seal on it, ”I’d like to have this logo fired onto the bottom of every cup, is that okay?”

”With your drawing being so realistic, no problem at all,” Wei Honger looked at the several cups she had drawn and suddenly asked, ”Then, can we also make some of these cups to sell on our own?”

She thought those cups were really quite beautiful, and the designs were novel—she had never seen anything like them before.

Chiang Xiao was at a loss for words.

She had encountered the same issue as she did with Factory Director Su of the packaging box factory.

”That won’t do. I hope to be the only one to own these cup designs, and I don’t want to see a bunch of identical ones out on the market. If you agree to take my order, I’d like us to sign an agreement stating this point,” she said.

As she left the Wei Family Porcelain Workshop, Chiang Xiao let out a sigh.

Wei Honger had accepted her order.

Although her order was indeed small for the Wei Family Porcelain Workshop—six designs, with only fifty of each to be fired—in total, there would be just three hundred cups. If the Talisman Diagram cups didn’t sell, she guessed she might end up selling porcelain cups at a street stall.

And the costs for these cups were not low either.

Chu Liang had been with her for the day and was quite surprised.

He didn’t know why Chiang Xiao needed so many cups.

Two designs of the cups could be fired the day after tomorrow. Chiang Xiao thought it over and decided to call and ask for three more days off; she might as well stay and see how the cups turned out before she went back. If possible, she could also take a few cups back with her, then draw them and send them over to Grandpa Meng in Capital City.

But as for Meng Chaojun and Meng Xinian’s stepmother, Chiang Xiao had no plans to send them any.

During her last visit to Capital City, she had found out that not only did they not care for Meng Xinian, but they even engaged in helping others to bully and belittle him - since then, she lost all fondness for that couple.

Since Meng Xinian said there was no need to bother with them, she naturally took his advice.

Besides, she wasn’t married to Meng Xinian yet, was she?

In the evening, the phone at Chen Yin’s house started to ring.

Mother Chen picked it up and heard a gentle voice tinged with a hint of pride, ”Is this the Chen Family residence?”

”Yes, it is. May I ask who’s calling?”

”I’m Duan Qingqing. Please have Meng Xinian answer the phone.”
