Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 710: Chapter 711 A Chill Down the Spine

His sister and parents later analyzed that if Meng Xinian had ignored him at that time, allowing him to continue bleeding while unconscious in the alley, he probably wouldn’t have been saved.

In the end, it was Meng Xinian who rescued him.

Moreover, after his surgery, when he remained in a coma and all the Fong Family members were attacking Meng Xinian, he didn’t fight back. Even though it was that young girl who later charged out and started fighting with them, she also awakened him.

Because of this, no one from the Fong Family had the face to trouble that young girl.

Even though, Old Fong had also been punched by her.

But as long as Fong Jianye could wake up, let alone a punch, even ten punches wouldn’t matter to them.

After all, Fong Jianye was the only seedling of their generation!

Fong Jianye had never really blamed Gao Wei for accidentally hitting him, but what Gao Wei did afterward made him feel a chill in his heart time after time.

”I didn’t see that you were bleeding from the head at that time, how many times do you want me to explain?” Gao Wei continued to argue using the words taught by his father: ”I genuinely didn’t see it, so I didn’t know your injury was that serious! I thought you just fainted for a moment and would wake up soon.”

”Even if you didn’t see the blood on my head, hitting the head with a nunchaku that hard surely would cause a serious injury, didn’t you know that?” Fong Jianye wasn’t so easily fooled.

”I really didn’t know! You know, at that time, all I was thinking about was how to deal with Meng Xi. Isn’t that the same goal you had? You were thinking the same thing, right? I believe if it were you, you’d make the same choice as me!”

”I’m not you.”

”Jianye, it’s meaningless for you to say that. We were born in the same year and have nearly twenty years of friendship. Don’t you trust me?” Gao Wei became more and more agitated as he spoke.

Yesterday they really thought that Fong Jianye wouldn’t wake up, or if he did, he would have suffered some intellectual impairment. Who would have thought that after he came to, not only was he not impaired, but he also remembered every detail of the incident vividly and was even harder to deceive now.

He had just woken up yesterday, but today his spirit was visibly very good.

It was truly insane.

And because he was too lucid, it made it impossible for Gao Wei to convince him now.

”How am I supposed to believe you? You nearly beat me to death, didn’t take me to the hospital, and ran away first. I’m just lucky to be alive right now. If not, had I died, should I trust you from the underworld?”

This time, Fong Jianye felt an even colder chill down his spine the more he thought about it.

He and Gao Wei were as close as real brothers, but this incident made him suddenly realize what kind of person Gao Wei really was.

Before, he always thought that Gao Wei’s wickedness was reserved for others and would never be directed at himself. But reality struck him hard.

Gao Wei was the same toward him.

And so was Gao’s Father. Without the instigation of Gao’s Father in this matter, he couldn’t believe Gao Wei would act so decisively.

His father had once told him that Gao’s Father was a terrifying man.

Now it seemed to really be the case.

”Aren’t you fine now? Jianye, I truly thought you weren’t seriously hurt...”

Gao Wei hadn’t finished speaking when Father Fong walked in, his face stern, he said, ”Gao Wei, Jianye needs to rest. Please leave for now, he can’t rest well with you here.”
