Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang contemplated as he entered this world. Upon entry, he immediately sensed something amiss in the atmosphere.

Within this world, Su Yang distinctly felt the aftermath of a battle, likely one involving the strongest beings.

Surprise shook Su Yang’s heart, and he swiftly flew towards this world.

He hadn’t even landed yet, and Su Yang sensed the presence of the five strongest humans who had guarded the Human Clan; surprisingly, they were in this world.

Relief washed over Su Yang; the fact that these five individuals were still present was indeed excellent news.

Simultaneously, he felt a growing gratitude towards Wan Du and the others.

It seemed he had misunderstood them before.

The world had undergone a battle, indicating that the Guardian Gods had entered and fought there. Wan Du and his people likely went to great lengths to protect the five strongest humans, greatly aiding the Human Clan.

At this point, several people below sensed Su Yang’s presence, and about a dozen rapidly flew up. Leading the group was Wan Du, with the five human guardians by his side.

It was evident that these five individuals were significantly injured.

”Thank you, Wan Du!” Su Yang saluted.

”Oh!” Wan Du sighed, ”Su Alliance Leader, there’s no need for such courtesy. The Human Clan has done us favors, and although we were reluctant to involve ourselves in your conflict with the Guardian Gods, we at least understand the principle of gratitude.”

”It’s just... we’re sorry, to avoid offending the Guardian Gods, we had to redirect the battle to this world. Failing to assist them initially is truly regrettable!”

Su Yang understood Wan Du’s reasoning. Redirecting the battle to this world allowed the Guardian Gods to invade this territory.

In doing so, when Guardian Gods entered this world, it was tantamount to invading their domain, prompting the strongest within to fend off the encroachment, thus avoiding direct hostility towards the Guardian Gods by framing it as repelling an invasion.

Therefore, even though Wan Du and his people aided the Human Clan, they still wished to avoid becoming enemies of the Guardian Gods, ultimately opting for a compromise.

Su Yang harbored no resentment towards this choice. He could empathize with Wan Du’s sentiments; after all, the situation’s implications were vast, and he couldn’t decide for all life in this world, only offering his assistance within his capabilities.

”No worries, Wan Du, your help in preserving them is already the greatest aid to me!” Su Yang said, ”The conflict with the Guardian Gods is indeed an internal matter of our World Tree, and unrelated to others.”

Wan Du sighed with relief and softly spoke, ”However, these Guardian Gods were indeed ferocious. Upon entry, they attempted to massacre the inhabitants of this world. Luckily, we intervened promptly to shift the battlefield to the skies. Otherwise, countless lives in our world would’ve perished!”

Su Yang nodded, ”In the eyes of the Guardian Gods, there’s only a distinction between allies and enemies. You are not their allies, thus you are foes, and they naturally won’t show mercy!”

Wan Du furrowed his brows; if that’s truly the case, this World Tree wouldn’t be spared from confronting the Guardian Gods.

Su Yang thanked Wan Du once more, then departed the world with the five strongest individuals.

The five were significantly injured, but since Su Yang possessed the Earth Principle, they could absorb abundant Spiritual Energy, rendering recovery from injuries inconsequential.

Moreover, fortunately, when the five sensed impending danger, they promptly gathered all nearby humans and Guardian Gods into the Space Artifact.

Thus, despite the Human Clan’s buildings being entirely destroyed in this battle, there were no casualties among the Human Clan. Even the weaker humans and Guardian Gods were rescued, escaping disaster.

Su Yang led everyone out of the Light Cocoon; by then, the outer crowd’s search had reached its conclusion, and they found nothing.

All were despondent, thinking the five individuals had met a grim fate.

To their surprise, Su Yang appeared with the five, bringing overwhelming joy to everyone.

Upon learning what Wan Du and the others had done, the Supreme Dragon Emperor and others ceased their tirades.

Nonetheless, they harbored a degree of dissatisfaction, believing Wan Du and his group hoping to remain neutral was naive, asserting Wan Du should have directly opted to ally with the Human Clan against the Guardian Gods.

Su Yang halted the crowd, advising them not to pressure Wan Du and the others. Wan Du’s group couldn’t represent everyone in this world; this matter required careful deliberation.

Next, Su Yang inquired about the battle’s specifics.

The Eye of Chaos was the first to detect the Guardian Gods’ assault, recounting the details to everyone.

The Guardian Gods were led by the First God; most of their strongest were assembled, numbering around thirty.

Upon arrival, they divided into two groups. One assaulted the Eye of Chaos and others, while the second headed towards the Broken Star Domain, their intentions there unknown.

Su Yang felt stirred upon hearing this.

”You said a group came to the Broken Star Domain?” Su Yang said gravely, ”Who led them?”

”It must be the Heavenly Sect!” the Eye of Chaos stated, ”The First God and Heavenly Sect seem to have seized control of the Guardian Gods. The First God leads the vanguard to attack us, while Heavenly Sect leads the rear group.”

”Heavenly Sect!” Su Yang deeply inhaled, intoning, ”Among the Guardian Gods, he is notoriously cunning. It appears this plan stemmed from him!”

Everyone nodded; the First God and others didn’t possess the intellect for such maneuvers. Only Heavenly Sect, known for his cunning, had ensnared many Heavenly Warriors of the Human Clan.

”With the plan orchestrated by Heavenly Sect and him personally leading, he must be executing the most pivotal task in this plan!”

Su Yang gazed towards the Broken Star Domain, stating solemnly, ”This implies their genuine objective isn’t to besiege the five of you, but they’re targeting the Broken Star Domain!”

”Huh?” The crowd was bewildered; the Eye of Chaos was baffled, ”Impossible, right? There’s nothing in the Broken Star Domain. Why would they come here? Shouldn’t they be dealing with us?”

”If their aim was to confront us, given the Guardian Gods’ numbers and the earlier group of strongest, they already surpass us in count and might!” Su Yang asserted, ”Were they to attack directly, we wouldn’t stand a chance. Why resort to a scheme to disperse us?”
