Supreme Warrior in the City

This matter is quite serious. The Divine Master is a member of the Heavenly Realm, so what purpose could he have in coming to the Human World?

The Heavenly Realm’s ambitions for the Human World, Su Yang had long known about. Otherwise, there wouldn’t be the existence of the Heavenly Court.

Moreover, now the Heavenly Court has done such things, abducting all the Land Immortals of Huaxia, resulting in the current situation. The wolfish ambitions of the Heavenly Realm are really very clear.

Now, this Divine Master is also a member of the Heavenly Realm, which inevitably makes Su Yang highly vigilant. What exactly does the Heavenly Court intend by leaving this person here?

”Su Alliance Leader, don’t worry!” The Divine Master said with a faint smile, ”Although I am a member of the Heavenly Realm, right now, I don’t belong to the Heavenly Realm anymore!”

Su Yang was taken aback and asked in surprise, ”What do you mean?”

”When I was in the Heavenly Realm, I had already died in battle,” the Divine Master replied. ”There was no place for me in the Heavenly Realm anymore, so I secretly fled to the Human World, seized a new body, and only then gained my current identity!”

”What!?” Su Yang couldn’t help but be shocked. The Divine Master turned out to be of such an identity?

”In fact, you should be able to see that the people around me have similar experiences to mine,” the Divine Master explained. ”The Medical Saint was once chosen to go to the Heavenly Realm to fight for them and ultimately died on the battlefield. His soul remained, but no one cared for him in the Heavenly Realm, and he didn’t dare to seize a body there, so he could only escape back to the Human World to find a new body. The Black Demon is similar, Mr. Jin Ye is the same, and even those Three-faced Divine Lords—even though they didn’t die in battle in the Heavenly Realm, they died in the great battle in the Asura Realm and had been abandoned before returning to the Human World to find a body.”

Su Yang was utterly shocked. He now finally understood the origin of the people around the Divine Master. They were all those who had returned after dying in battle in the Heavenly Realm.

”How could this happen?” Su Yang asked in disbelief. ”You died in battle in the Heavenly Realm, and no one cared about you there?”

”Haha...” The Divine Master laughed lightly. ”The lives of those Divine Race members in the Heavenly Realm are so precious. Those who die in battle there are not enough, so how could they bear to let the members from the Human World use them? After the people from the Human World die in battle, no one cares about them at all. Some are even more pitiful, with no one to help collect their bodies!”

Su Yang’s face turned cold. He had heard before about how the Heavenly Realm selected experts from the Human World to fight for them. At the time, he just thought the Heavenly Realm was too overbearing, but hearing the Divine Master now made him realize that the Heavenly Realm’s actions weren’t just overbearing; they entirely treated members from the Human World as slaves, not considering them as people at all.

No wonder the Qinghe Academy has resisted for so many years; after all, who would be willing to be driven like that?

After a moment of silence, Su Yang suddenly thought of a question and quickly asked, ”You just said that you sneaked from the Heavenly Realm to the Human World after dying in battle?”

”Yes!” The Divine Master nodded.

”How did you sneak over?” Su Yang asked in a deep voice. ”The Heavenly Road was almost shattered by the Qilin, and it’s completely unstable now. Only ten people can pass through each year. How did you manage to sneak over?”

”Haha...” The Divine Master chuckled lightly. ”This matter isn’t as complicated as you think. First, you need to know that although the Heavenly Road is unstable, that doesn’t mean it’s impassable. The ten people limit is just the result of the struggle between the Heavenly Realm and Qinghe Academy and doesn’t mean only ten people can pass through the Heavenly Road each year. In fact, what truly affects the traffic of the Heavenly Road is the residual power of the Qilin within it.”

”The residual Qilin power guards this side of the Human World. If the Heavenly Realm sends people over without permission, that power will stop them, preventing passage. And the current Heavenly Road can’t take any damage; if people from the Heavenly Realm battle with the Qilin, the road will shatter. So, you could say the residual Qilin power is merely guarding the Heavenly Road!”

”However, if the Qilin agrees to your passage, then entering the Human World from the Heavenly Realm wouldn’t be difficult at all!”

Su Yang looked at the Divine Master in astonishment. ”Are you saying the Qilin agreed for you to enter the Human World?”

The Divine Master nodded with a faint smile, ”If the Qilin hadn’t agreed, how could we have entered the Human World?”

Su Yang was stunned. ”He... how could he agree for you to enter the Human World?”

”Why wouldn’t he?” The Divine Master chuckled. ”Su Alliance Leader, have you forgotten our identities? In fact, we are also members of the Human World, only forcibly sent to the Heavenly Realm to fight for them, which doesn’t mean we’re truly members of the Heavenly Realm!”

Su Yang then remembered their identities, but he still couldn’t quite understand.

”You went to the Heavenly Realm and worked for them. The Qilin letting you return to the Human World—isn’t that unsafe?” Su Yang frowned.

”What do you mean by safe or unsafe?” The Divine Master replied. ”Su Alliance Leader, do you know why the Qilin agreed to let us return to the Human World?”

Su Yang shook his head. This was precisely what he couldn’t figure out.

”The Heavenly Realm regards Human World members as slaves, free to command. The Human World is too weak to resist and has no choice but to work for them,” the Divine Master said. ”People of good will in the Human World don’t want to see this happen, which is why the Qilin severed the Heavenly Road, and Qinghe Academy opposes the Heavenly Court. However, these are only temporary solutions. If the Human World’s power cannot be increased, if it cannot stand on equal footing with the Heavenly Realm, it will always be enslaved by them.”

”Although we died in battle in the Heavenly Realm, our souls remain. Returning to the Human World to find good bodies, we might regain our cultivation, even surpass it. Our return is tantamount to the Human World gaining a group of powerful cultivators, truly capable of fighting for our world. In such a situation, do you think the Qilin would not agree to let us return?”

Hearing the Divine Master’s explanation, Su Yang finally understood the situation. In simple terms, the Qilin allowed these people to return to the Human World to strengthen its power and thus resist the Heavenly Realm.

And seeing it this way, the Divine Master and these people, just as the assassin said, are not bad at all. No matter what they’ve done, at least they stand against the Heavenly Realm, and that’s the most important thing!

Thinking of this, Su Yang breathed a sigh of relief, and his previous vigilance was dispelled.

”So that’s how it is!” Su Yang realized suddenly and laughed. ”So, it seems we have a common enemy. Divine Master, if I was offensive earlier, please forgive me!”

”Su Alliance Leader, you’re joking!” The Divine Master smiled. ”It was I who was too abrupt. I’ve been busy recently and failed to restrain Liao Yuxuan and others, causing inconvenience to Su Alliance Leader. Please don’t mind!”
