Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Chapter 365: Chapter 166: Uncertain, Domestic Outcry, Something is Wrong with This Kid!_5

Shi Yongxin’s face darkened completely.

If he previously had some doubts, by now, he was one hundred percent certain that Zhang Beixing was here to sabotage them!

This is endless!

However, this time, he did not outright refuse. The reason was simple: Chen Rourou was merely a woman, and she had also said that she had not reached the level of a Pseudo Grandmaster.

Although Shi Yongxin himself was not a Pseudo Grandmaster, his many years in the Shaolin Monastery had not been in vain. Even if he spent his nights with young models from clubs, his daytime immersion in martial arts lore meant he had picked up a few things.

He considered himself invincible below the Pseudo Grandmaster level.

Hence, he said, ”Since the benefactor insists on this, it would be improper for me to refuse further. Let’s have a friendly spar. However, it must be said beforehand that fists and feet show no mercy. Should the benefactor be injured during the spar, please bear the responsibility yourself!”

”Indeed I shall!” Chen Rourou declared, her eyes sparkling as she nodded repeatedly. Then she followed Shi Yongxin to the Shaolin Martial Arts school’s training grounds.

Shi Yongxin was about to have a spar—this was a big deal. Therefore, not long after Zhang Beixing and the others followed Shi Yongxin to the training grounds, a crowd soon gathered nearby to watch the spectacle. Numerous monks also came to maintain order, advising people not to get too close.

Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Shi Yongxin and Chen Rourou stepped onto the platform and bowed to each other in greeting.

The two exchanged few words and immediately began to fight.

Unlike Zhang Beixing’s fighting style—wide, sweeping, powerful, and domineering, capable of shattering all techniques with sheer force—Chen Rourou’s style was more agile and unpredictable. Leveraging her agility, she sparred with Shi Yongxin for a long time, and he failed to land a single touch.

Realizing this, Chen Rourou was a bit shocked herself. She clearly hadn’t expected to become so strong after Zhang Beixing’s special training! She was even running circles around Shi Yongxin!

Of course, part of the reason was Shi Yongxin himself.

He considered himself invincible below the Pseudo Grandmaster level. But in reality, he had clearly overestimated himself. Due to his nightly escapades with young models, while he did possess a certain degree of martial arts skill, his body simply couldn’t keep up with his thoughts. There were many times when he had clearly reacted mentally, but his body just couldn’t respond, always half a beat too slow. At other times, both his mind and body would react, but Chen Rourou’s reactions were faster. Under Zhang Beixing’s tutelage, her combat experience was superb, and her ability to adapt her techniques was much quicker.

This meant that within three to four minutes of fighting, Shi Yongxin was completely overwhelmed by Chen Rourou, without the slightest chance to retaliate!

Zhang Beixing watched silently from below. After a while, realizing Shi Yongxin truly had nothing to offer and was a disgrace to Shaolin, he felt somewhat disappointed and discreetly signaled to Chen Rourou.

Noticing the cue, Chen Rourou intuitively understood. She abandoned her agile attacks for overwhelming force, rushing forward and landing several heavy blows.

”I—this humble monk—admit defeat! I surrender!” Shi Yongxin blurted out, stars dancing before his eyes from the beating. He clearly couldn’t take any more; he was surrendering.

HISS—

Seeing Shi Yongxin, the Shaolin Abbot, not only fail to defeat a young girl but also get thoroughly beaten on the ground, a chorus of hisses rose from the crowd!

Shi Yongxin also felt humiliated, but what good would that do? He simply couldn’t beat Chen Rourou. What else could be done?

Grimacing and touching his various injuries, Shi Yongxin still had to force a magnanimous, unconcerned expression. Looking at Chen Rourou, he said, ”Benefactor, your skills are profound. I am no match for you; I’ve made a fool of myself!”

Then he turned to Zhang Beixing. ”Benefactor Zhang,” he said, ”if I remember correctly, you previously mentioned challenging our Shaolin’s Eighteen Arhat Bronze Man Array. Does that offer still stand?”

Having lost face in front of so many people, he definitely wouldn’t let this humiliation slide. He had to regain his lost honor, at the very least! Others might not know the power of their Shaolin Arhat Bronze Man Array, but as the abbot, he knew it all too well! It was no exaggeration to say that once the Arhat Bronze Man Array was deployed, unless it was a life-and-death battle, not even a Grandmaster would be their match. Even in a life-and-death battle, they were confident they could take down a Grandmaster at the cost of only three lives! This was arguably Shaolin Temple’s ultimate trump card! As long as Zhang Beixing dared to accept, he could reclaim the face he’d lost today.

Zhang Beixing was oblivious to Shi Yongxin’s petty scheming. Of course, even if he had known, he wouldn’t have cared. After all, he wasn’t just any ordinary Grandmaster, and with the System, he could enhance his strength at any moment.

Zhang Beixing, full of confidence, responded upon hearing Shi Yongxin’s words, ”Naturally, it stands. Then let’s begin!”

”Good!” Shi Yongxin exclaimed. As long as you dare to accept, that’s all that matters!

He then took out his phone to make a call. Before long, eighteen monks with skin the color of old bronze walked out from the crowd.

”Greetings, Grandmaster Zhang!” a monk stepped forward, looked at Zhang Beixing with clasped fists, and spoke. ”We heard that you wish to challenge our Shaolin. I am Shi Subei, leader of the Shaolin Arhat Bronze Man Array and the thirty-first generation successor of Shaolin’s Dragon Claw Technique. I and my junior martial brothers have come to request your instruction!”

Hearing this, the monks behind him also chimed in, announcing their Dharma names and their respective martial arts specializations.
