Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 2046: A Good Show

The mountain groaned. Cracks spiderwebbed outward from the dungeon fissure, glowing veins of mana spreading like molten rivers. The monster roared, its cry so loud the clouds above seemed to tremble. But this time, its call wasnʼt merely a roar of rage—

It was a summons.

The fissure pulsed, vomiting waves of corrupted light. From it, creatures clawed their way out, birthed from raw mana and malice. Smaller, but no less deadly.

Wolf-like beasts with crystalline spines. Hulking brutes of stone and flame. Winged aberrations shrieking like banshees. Dozens, then hundreds, spilled across the battlefield.

The adventurersʼ battered formation collapsed at the sight.

”T-Thereʼs too many!”

”Theyʼre endless—!”

”Fall back!”

Panic spread like wildfire. The guild vice leader tried to rally them, but her voice was drowned in the cacophony of growls and screeches.

Alex only tilted his head, watching the wave with a gleam in his eye.

”Well,” he muttered, tightening his grip on his sword. ”Guess itʼs about to get interesting.”

Behind him, Nyx observed before leaving, retuning to his body.

The first wave crashed forward.

A wolf-beast lunged, jaws wide. Alex pivoted on his heel, blade flashing upward in a clean arc. The wolfʼs head separated from its body, glowing blood spraying as he slid under its momentum.

Another came from behind. Without turning, Alexʼs hand flicked to his waist.

Bang!

A sharp burst rang out as his magic gun fired. A mana-forged bullet pierced the wolfʼs skull, dropping it mid-leap.

The crowd of adventurers gasped. Many had never seen a magic gun in use — rarer still in the hands of a swordsman. But Alex wielded it as naturally as breathing.

He moved like a storm.

His sword carved arcs of steel, slicing through beasts with brutal precision. Between swings, his other hand snapped up the gun, firing bursts of mana that pierced eyes, joints, and hearts. Each shot was calculated, weaving seamlessly with his swordplay.

Steel and thunder. Blade and bullet.

The battlefield became his stage.

A brute of stone barreled toward him, its fists slamming down like boulders. Alex sprinted forward, sliding under the blow. His sword cleaved into its ankle, cracking its crystal joint.

Before it toppled, he kicked off its leg, flipping into the air.

Bang-bang-bang!

Three shots fired mid-spin, each bullet slamming into cracks along the bruteʼs spine. As he landed, his blade thrust upward through its chest. The monster shattered like glass, fragments dissolving into mana.

Cheers erupted from the adventurers, their despair briefly forgotten.

”Look at him move—!”

”Thatʼs not human—”

But Alex wasnʼt done.

He darted between enemies with inhuman agility, vaulting off monstersʼ bodies, flipping over claws, twisting midair as he fired into weak points before finishing with a blade slash. Every movement was acrobatic, almost artistic.

He wasnʼt just fighting.

He was dancing.

The winged creatures shrieked overhead, firing beams of condensed mana downward. The ground erupted with each blast, adventurers scattering in panic.

Alex kicked off a wolf-beast, launching himself into the air. His body spun as his gun fired, bullets streaking upward in a spiral. One by one, wings exploded, the creatures plummeting like broken comets.

He twisted midair, landing on a bruteʼs shoulder before springing again, cleaving another beastʼs head with his descending strike. His coat fluttered in the wind, shadows licking at his edges like fire.

The battlefield looked surreal.

Mana flares.

Gunfire.

Steel arcs carving luminous trails.

It was beautiful and terrifying all at once.

Still, there were too many.

Wave after wave spilled out of the fissure, surrounding him. Even with his speed, he was being boxed in. Claws grazed his skin, jaws snapped inches from his throat. Blood streaked down his arm where one beastʼs talon had cut deep.

Alexʼs grin didnʼt falter. If anything, it widened.

”Come on… faster. Stronger. Donʼt you dare bore me now!”

He holstered the gun for a moment, gripping his sword with both hands. Dark energy surged along the blade, Nyxʼs lingering power igniting as his will pulled it forth. Shadows wrapped the steel, jagged and alive.

He swung — and an arc of darkness cleaved through a dozen beasts at once, leaving a trail of dissolving corpses in its wake.

The survivors hesitated. For a split second, even the summoned monsters seemed to fear him.

Alex breathed heavily, sweat dripping down his jaw. His chest rose and fell, but his eyes burned brighter than ever.

”Yeah,” he muttered. ”This is the kind of fight Iʼve been waiting for.”

From the fissure, the giant beast roared again, furious that its minions were faltering. Its body glowed brighter, veins pulsing like magma. The mountain trembled as its massive claws dug deeper into the earth.

The summoned monsters howled, throwing themselves forward with renewed frenzy.

And Alex dove right back into the storm.

Gun in one hand, sword in the other, he carved his way through. Bullets punched holes in skulls while his blade severed limbs and throats. He spun, slid, vaulted, his movements flowing seamlessly between precision shots and sweeping slashes.

At one moment, he fired point-blank into a bruteʼs face.

The next, he used its collapsing body as a springboard, flipping high to cut down two flying beasts in a single spin.

The adventurers could hardly follow his movements. Their eyes darted desperately, trying to track him, but he was everywhere at once, shadows trailing behind his every step.

It was chaos. It was carnage.

And Alex danced through it all.

By the time the wave began thinning, the battlefield was littered with dissolving corpses. Blue mana-blood pooled in rivers, sizzling into mist. Craters and scorch marks scarred the mountainside.

Alex stood at the center, chest heaving, blade dripping with luminous ichor. Smoke curled from his gunʼs barrel. His clothes were torn, his skin streaked with cuts and burns.

But his grin remained.

The adventurers behind him could barely comprehend what theyʼd seen. Many had dropped their weapons, not out of despair this time — but out of sheer awe.

The vice guild leader whispered, almost reverently:

”…Heʼs a monster too.”

Alex flicked his blade, scattering blue droplets onto the broken earth. His eyes never left the fissure. The giant beast still loomed, glowing brighter than ever, its mana rising to a fever pitch.

This was only the beginning.

Alex raised his sword and gun again, shadow aura flaring.

”Round two,” he muttered, his voice low and eager. ”Letʼs go, big guy.”

The mountain rumbled as the beast answered his challenge with a roar that split the skies.

The true battle was about to begin.
