Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 2005: Adventurer Guild

The sun rose like a flower unfurling its petals to greet the world, casting hues of scarlet and tangerine across the sky amidst the gentle dance of raindrops. Gazing at the illuminated clouds, still bathed in an ethereal glow, Alex felt an unfamiliar sense of belonging wash over him. A new day had begun.

After completing his usual morning routine and enjoying a refreshing bath, he joined Nyx for breakfast. They shared a quiet meal, savoring the moment before heading out, leaving the villa in Elaraʼs capable hands. Since Nyx wasnʼt planning to register at the Adventurerʼs Guild, she decided to return to her world to rest and recover.

Once ready to go, Alex hailed a magic cab to take him to the central district, the vibrant heart of Azurea where the Adventurerʼs Guild was located—the leading force in the city. Given that their villa was not too far from the central district, the journey didnʼt take long.

As they arrived at the bustling heart of the city, Alex was struck by the sheer majesty surrounding him. The Adventurerʼs Guild towered above everything else, a colossal structure that exuded strength and grandeur. Its intricate architecture and towering spires were a sight to behold, leaving him awestruck and filled with anticipation for the challenges that lay ahead.

Alex stepped through the golden gates of the guild, immediately immersed in the lively atmosphere inside. The expansive hall was bustling with people, and numerous receptionist booths lined both the lower and upper floors. Above, a giant floating screen, powered by illusion magic, displayed a variety of quests and adventurersʼ scores from the exhilarating dungeon racing games.

As he entered, many eyes were drawn to him. His striking appearance—handsome features complemented by heterochromatic eyes and a black arm—set him apart from the crowd. However, the momentary curiosity quickly faded. Among adventurers, uniqueness was a common trait, and there was little reason to expend energy on someone simply because he looked different. They returned to their own conversations and activities, leaving Alex to navigate the vibrant guild on his own.

Alex approached one of the booths, and as expected, the receptionists were elegantly dressed in black and white. The girl who greeted him had striking blue hair, and her nameplate read Isla.

”Welcome to the Adventurerʼs Guild. How can I assist you today?” she asked with a warm smile.

”I wish to register as an adventurer,” Alex replied.

ʼʼName?”

ʼʼAlexander Kael Touch!”

Isla nodded as she wrote Alexʼs name on the form she began filling as soon as he saw he wanted to be registered as an adventurer.

”The registration fee is 1 gold coin,” Isla added. Alex shook his head, then dropped a bombshell.

”I want to take the Special Test!”

At the mention of the Special Test, it felt as if time had stood still. It had been over fifty years since someone had uttered those words, and many present wondered if they had misheard the young man. But Alex remained calm, looking directly at the shocked Isla.

”I want to take the Special Test,” he reiterated.

Isla gulped, sensing that this unusual man was serious. Without hesitation, she hurried off to seek assistance from higher authorities. She soon returned, accompanied by the vice guild leader, as the guild leader was not present at the moment.

The vice guild leader was an elegant elf with light green hair. She scrutinized Alex as she approached, emitting a subtle pressure in an attempt to intimidate him. However, Alex maintained his composure, earning a raised eyebrow from the lady.

”So, youʼre the one who wants to take the Special Test?” she asked.

”Yes, thatʼs me!” Alex affirmed confidently.

”I see your confidence, but are you aware of the requirements?” she said, deciding to test him.

In response, Alex placed half a million gold coins on the counter, shocking everyone present as they turned their attention toward him.

The vice guild leaderʼs eyes widened slightly, and she chuckled. ”Youʼre quite bold, arenʼt you?”

Alex remained silent as she swiped the gold coins and motioned for him to follow her upstairs.

They arrived in a grand hall with a floating crystal at its center. ”Place your hand on the crystal to test your aptitude and level,” she declared, drawing the attention of staff members and high-level adventurers.

Alex nodded and placed his left hand on the crystal, subtly lowering his level, albeit not by much. The crystal glowed brilliantly, revealing his exceptional abilities, and above it, the display read Level 4, indicating a powerful rank.

”What? Heʼs level 4?”

”No wonder he wants to take the test. I wonder where heʼs from?”

Whispers of surprise filled the room as the onlookers processed the revelation.

The vice guild leader was equally astonished, never expecting him to be so powerful. Yet, she sensed he might still be holding back some of his strength, which was prudent in case of unforeseen circumstances.

Clearing her throat, she announced, ”Youʼve passed this test. You can take the Special Test, but prior to that, you will face one of our staff members to assess your skills. While you are indeed powerful, your skills must be tested before proceeding to the final test. You can withdraw at any time; your money will be refunded.”

”No, Iʼll continue,” Alex declared, his determination unwavering.

As they made their way to the training ground, the system suddenly activated a mission at his command.

[Ding! New Mission: Successfully complete the Special Mission.

Rewards: One skill and one-third of your karma filled.]

Alex felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of the mission. The rewards were too enticing to ignore, and he couldnʼt wait to dive in and complete it.

At last, the group arrived at the training ground, which was as expansive as a stadium. In the center of the arena stood a robust middle-aged man with a mustache, gripping a massive axe. He wore minimal clothing, his bare upper body showcasing bulging muscles and a multitude of scars, clear evidence of a wild and adventurous life
