Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 2024: Another Banditʼs Attack 2

Saeko watched as one bandit stumbled, falling to the ground, and she seized the opportunity to strike.

With a fierce determination, she dashed forward, her katana flashing as she dispatched the downed bandit with a swift slice. The wind surged around her again, fueling her confidence as she turned her attention back to the others.

The leader of the bandits, now furious, rallied his remaining comrades. ”Regroup! Weʼll take her down together!” he bellowed, his voice carrying over the chaos. The bandits exchanged glances, clearly shaken by the unexpected resistance from the merchants.

Saeko knew they were gaining momentum, and she had to keep it. She launched into the fray once more, using the wind to propel herself forward. The swirling energy around her enhanced her agility, allowing her to dodge and weave through the bandits with remarkable speed. With each movement, she felt more in tune with the air, her instincts guiding her as she fought.

As she charged into the fray, she targeted the bandit leader, determined to disrupt his command and weaken the morale of the remaining attackers. The leader swung his sword at her, but Saeko ducked low, rolling beneath his strike, and sprang up behind him.

”Now!” she shouted, channeling the wind into her katana as she aimed for the leaderʼs back. The blade glinted in the sunlight as she swung, but at the last moment, he spun around, narrowly avoiding her strike. The leader counterattacked with a fierce swing, forcing Saeko to leap back just in time.

”Impressive moves, mercenary,” he taunted, a smirk on his face. ”But youʼll need more than agility to defeat me!”

Saeko felt her determination rise. ”And Iʼll need more than arrogance to defeat you!” she retorted, her voice steady despite the chaos surrounding them.

The bandits pressed their attack, but Saeko was ready. She focused on her breathing, letting the wind guide her movements as she danced between the incoming strikes. She ducked and dodged, countering with her own swift attacks. The air crackled with energy as she unleashed a flurry of blows, each enhanced by the elemental force she had come to master.

One by one, she began to whittle down the banditsʼ numbers. A well-placed kick sent another bandit crashing into a nearby wagon, while a quick slash from her katana sent another stumbling back. The merchants, emboldened by her bravery, joined the fray, throwing improvised weapons and shouting encouragement.

”Keep it up, Saeko!” one of the merchants yelled, tossing a heavy crate that collided with a banditʼs ribs, taking him out of the fight. ”Weʼre with you!”

As the remaining bandits began to falter, their confidence waned. The leader, realizing his men were losing the fight, turned to Saeko with fury etched across his face. ”Youʼll pay for this!” he shouted, charging at her with reckless abandon.

Saeko braced herself, summoning all her energy as the bandit leader closed the distance. She could see the determination in his eyes, but she was resolute. The wind whirled around her, a powerful force that surged in response to her will.

With a battle cry, the leader swung his sword down at her, and Saeko executed a deft sidestep, using the wind to enhance her movement. She pivoted, and as he stumbled past her, she seized the moment. Channeling the wind, she unleashed a powerful gust that knocked him off balance, sending him staggering backward.

”Now!” she shouted, and the merchants seized the opportunity. They launched their makeshift weapons at the leader, catching him off guard as he regained his footing.

In that instant, Saeko surged forward, her katana poised for a decisive strike. She aimed for a weak point in his armor, feeling the wind guide her movements. The blade found its mark, cutting through the leather with a satisfying slice. The leader gasped, surprise flickering in his eyes as he stumbled back.

”You… youʼll regret this,” he managed, his voice strained.

Saeko stood firm, her heart pounding as she faced him. ”Youʼve underestimated us,” she replied, her voice steady. ”Youʼll not harm anyone else today.”

With a final surge of energy, she summoned the wind around her, creating a powerful vortex that swept toward the leader. The force of the wind knocked him off his feet, and he tumbled to the ground, defeated.

As the remaining bandits saw their leader fall, panic spread among them. One by one, they began to retreat, realizing they were no match for Saeko and the tenacious merchants.

”Donʼt let them escape!” Saeko called out, but she knew the battle was won. The bandits fled into the trees, their shouts of frustration echoing through the forest as they disappeared from view.

Breathing heavily, Saeko turned to the merchants, who were staring at her with a mix of awe and gratitude. They had fought bravely alongside her, and together they had triumphed against a more organized and ruthless enemy.

”Thank you, Saeko!” one of the merchants exclaimed, his eyes wide with admiration. ”You saved us again!”

Saeko managed a weary smile, her heart swelling with pride. ”We did this together. You all fought valiantly,” she replied, feeling a sense of camaraderie with them. ”Now letʼs secure the caravan and ensure everything is safe.”

As they worked to assess any damage and gather their supplies, Saeko felt a renewed sense of purpose. She had faced powerful foes, yet each challenge only fueled her determination to improve and grow stronger. The road to Rivermere lay ahead, and she was prepared to face whatever came next.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the weary caravan, Saeko took a moment to reflect on the dayʼs events. Each battle had taught her valuable lessons, and she felt herself inching closer to her goal of becoming guild master. In her heart, she vowed to continue honing her skills, to protect those who could not protect themselves, and to embrace the challenges that lay ahead.

The journey was far from over. So they had to stay vigilant.
