Death Guns In Another World

Chapter 1830 - 1621: Rest before facing the Ice Elemental Dragon

As they neared the towering ice peaks, an oppressive, ancient power began to permeate the air, sending a shiver down even the bravest of spines. This was the domain of the Ice Dragon Hilde, a primal force of nature that had reigned supreme in this realm for untold eons.

The final clash was about to begin.

Beyond the towering ice peaks lay a vast, icy expanse. Nestled in the center of this frozen landscape was the colossal form of the slumbering Ice Dragon. Despite its slumber, the beast emanated a powerful, ancient aura that blanketed the area.

The dragonʼs massive, white scales glinted in the pale light, each one as large as a shield. Its body stretched out for hundreds of feet, the sheer size of its form dwarfing even the tallest peaks that surrounded it. Coils of its serpentine neck were curled tightly around its body, as if the creature was protecting itself, even in its sleep.

Great horns, each one the size of a grown man, jutted from the sides of its head, curving wickedly towards the sky. Steam billowed from the Ice Dragonʼs nostrils with each slow, rumbling breath, a testament to the primal power that slumbered within.

Despite its immense size and the aura of ancient might that radiated from it, the Ice Dragon appeared peaceful in its slumber, undisturbed by the trespassers who had entered its domain. But the heroes knew that this momentary calm would not last - the final confrontation with this legendary creature was about to begin.

Hilde, the massive white dragon, could sense the approaching presence, but she remained undisturbed in her slumber. She knew they would come eventually, and she was content to continue resting, her ancient power emanating outward in waves.

Meanwhile, Maria, did not immediately approach the sleeping Ice Dragon. Instead, she found a nearby waterfall and decided to take a refreshing, cold bath. For one such as her, who wielded the power of ice, the frigid temperatures were as natural as breathing.

Maria stepped beneath the cascading water, feeling the icy droplets caress her skin. She relished the sensation, allowing the chill to soak into her very bones. This was her element, the cold that others would find unforgiving and harsh. To Maria, it was invigorating, a connection to the primal forces of nature that she had learned to harness.

As the water danced across her body, Maria closed her eyes and focused her mind. She could feel the ebb and flow of the icy currents, the subtle shifts in temperature and pressure. It was as if she were one with the waterfall, her essence merging with the frozen liquid.

This moment of tranquility and communion with the ice was a necessary respite before the coming confrontation. Maria knew that soon, she and her companions would have to face the mighty Ice Dragon, Hilde, whose ancient power blanketed this frozen realm. But for now, she allowed herself to be consumed by the cold, drawing strength from its embrace.

After her rejuvenating dip beneath the icy waterfall, Maria turned her attention to preparing a hearty meal. Drawing upon the items stored within her item box, she began to assemble the necessary ingredients.

First, she gathered a selection of fresh, winter vegetables - crisp carrots, robust potatoes, and tender sprigs of rosemary. With a deft hand, she began chopping and dicing the produce, the sound of her blade striking the makeshift cutting board echoing through the frozen landscape.

Next, Maria retrieved a sizable chunk of meat, the flesh marbled with just the right amount of fat. She carefully trimmed away any excess, preserving the succulent quality of the cut. Seasoning the meat with a blend of salt, pepper, and other aromatic spices, she placed it into a sturdy cast-iron pan, allowing the sizzling of the cooking process to fill the air.

As the main course seared, Maria turned her attention to the side dishes. From her item box, she produced a variety of dried herbs and seasonings, which she methodically combined to create a savory sauce. Tossing the chopped vegetables into a large pot, she poured the sauce over them, ensuring an even coating.

The aroma of the meal began to waft through the chilly air, enticing the senses and awakening the appetite. Maria allowed herself a satisfied smile, knowing that this sustaining feast would provide her with the nourishment and energy she would need for the challenges that lay ahead.

With her preparations complete, Maria took a moment to savor the sight and scent of her handiwork, before setting about the task of enjoying her well-deserved meal.

As the day drew to a close, the Ice Realm was blanketed in a breathtaking display of nocturnal beauty. The once vibrant, crystalline landscape was now bathed in a serene, ethereal glow.

The sky above had transitioned from a dazzling azure to a vast canvas of deep indigo, dotted with an endless array of twinkling stars. Their brilliant light refracted and danced across the icy surfaces, creating a mesmerizing, kaleidoscopic effect.

The towering glaciers and jagged, snow-capped peaks were transformed, their edges now softened by the gentle moonlight. Gone were the harsh, angular shadows of day, replaced by a delicate interplay of light and shadow that lent an almost ethereal quality to the landscape.

The once-raging winds had subsided to a whispering breeze, carrying with it the crisp, invigorating scent of the frozen realm. The only sounds that broke the stillness were the occasional crackle of ice and the distant, soothing melody of a frozen waterfall.

As Maria stood in awe of the breathtaking sight, she could not help but feel a deep sense of tranquility and wonder. The harsh beauty of the Ice Realm, often so unyielding and unforgiving, had been softened and transformed by the arrival of night, imbuing it with an almost ethereal quality.

In this serene moment, Maria felt a renewed sense of purpose and determination. For it was in the heart of this frozen wonderland that she would soon face the mighty Ice Dragon, Hilde. But for now, she allowed herself to be captivated by the breathtaking beauty that surrounded her, drawing strength and inspiration from the land itself.
