Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 994: Chapter 473: The Answer She Wanted (First Update)_3

Then quickly said to Ruby Sheldon, ”Betty, quickly apologize to Mr. Parker! How can you address Mr. Parker like that? You’re being disrespectful!”

Ruby Sheldon stared at Aiden Sheldon, completely baffled as to why her father was reprimanding her.

In all her years, this was the first time Aiden had asked her to apologize to someone!

Who did this Quentin Parker think he was, that the daughter of the nation’s wealthiest should apologize to him?!

She wasn’t afraid of losing her fortune and longevity!

Ruby was inwardly seething with anger, her small hand clenched into a fist, her face quickly showing a grievance. She whispered, ”...I’m sorry, Mr. Parker. I saw you looked so young and amiable, that’s why I called you ’brother’. I didn’t mean to offend...”

Quentin Parker did not say a word and turned to leave.

To Ruby Sheldon, this was practically a slap in the face.

She was stunned for a long time before asking, ”...Dad, why does Mr. Parker have such a big temper? He’s disrespecting you... Do you need to fear him?”

Aiden looked at her with a complex expression, and after a while, said, ”Betty, do you know that if we offend Mr. Parker, our Sheldon Family might not remain the wealthiest.”

Ruby was about to further criticize Quentin Parker, but hearing Aiden’s words, she immediately fell silent.

She furrowed her brows, hugged Aiden’s arm, and gazed at Quentin Parker’s back, puzzled, ”Is he really that powerful? Could he also be the wealthiest?”

”All you think about is the wealthiest status. Being the wealthiest is just a title... People respect us, and it gives us face. Don’t actually believe we can do whatever we want...” Aiden sighed.

He had spoiled this child.

Aiden patted her head, wanting to say more but hesitated.

Ruby didn’t want to listen any further and hurriedly said, ”Dad, let’s go eat lobster, okay? You can peel the lobster for me!”

She pointed towards the table with the lobster.

Aiden saw Lawrence Winters there as well and was a bit tempted.

Then, noticing Quentin Parker walking over to Lawrence and Kenneth Osborne, seemingly talking to them.

Aiden’s step, which had just moved forward, halted.

He said, ”There’s too many people over there. I’ll have someone bring a few freshly steamed lobsters over, and we’ll eat at that nearby table, alright? Dad will peel them for you.”

Although Ruby felt a bit disappointed, she also saw Quentin Parker had gone over there and was somewhat afraid of him.

But seeing Lawrence Winters chatting and laughing with Quentin Parker made her extremely jealous, grumbling, ”...Sister Winters is truly impressive, with so many men around her, she’s a social butterfly...”

”Betty!” Aiden raised his voice, ”How can you talk about others like that?”

”Alright, alright, I won’t say anymore. Dad, let’s go eat lobster.” Ruby saw Aiden was genuinely angry and quickly stopped speaking, pulling him to sit at the nearby table.

Aiden asked a waiter to bring over a few freshly steamed large lobsters and peeled them for Ruby.

They hadn’t eaten for long when Evan Stetford returned.

He held a small microphone and said to everyone, ”Good evening, competitors, judges, and guests.”

”Welcome to the celebration dinner for the first round of our Celestial Path Sect World Cup tournament. We hope everyone eats well, plays well, and rests well.”

”There’s also another matter. After discussion by the organizing committee, we feel the difficulty of the first round exceeded our expectations. All participants are exhausted, so we’ve decided to delay the second round by a week. This week, everyone should rest well, and seven days later, battle again in the martial arts arena!”

He waved his fist energetically and spoke with vigor.

The crowd cheered together.

Especially the four who entered the second round.

They were indeed very tired, and no one knew what the topic would be for the second round.

If it were as challenging as the first round with hidden obstacles, it would truly be overwhelming.

Lawrence Winters nodded happily.

Her shoulder was indeed strained and needed rest.

Fortunately, she hadn’t injured any bones or tendons, just had muscle and soft tissue damage, and a week’s rest was completely sufficient.

She was the first to clap enthusiastically.

After Evan Stetford finished speaking, he handed the mic to his secretary, and his phone rang in his pocket.

He took it out and saw it was a call from Mr. and Mrs. Choo.

He quickly swiped to connect and asked, ”Hello, Mr. Choo, I’m Evan Stetford.”

On the other side, Mr. Choo’s voice was somewhat unclear, as if the phone signal was not very good.

He said intermittently, ”Mr. Stetford, we’re returning to the yacht to sign the contract. Thank you for your help. Please especially convey our gratitude to Great Heavenly Master Winters and tell her we’re very delighted she helped to save Yingying.”
