Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 980: Chapter 469: The Situation Has Changed (Second Update)

”Are you going to file a complaint?” Lawrence Winters casually pointed to the drone quietly hovering not far away. ”See that? We’re livestreaming... We’re letting the audience judge. How can it be justified to randomly take a seventeen-year-old cousin’s bedroom key?”

William’s eyes flickered, and he turned to take a look, as if he had just noticed the drone, pursed his lips, and slowly pulled his hand from his pocket, holding the key, he said to Alice Blythe, ”Alice, everyone’s keys are left at the door for convenience. And today, I used this key because I’m concerned about you. I knocked for a long time, and there was no sound from you, so I was worried...”

He then said to Lawrence Winters, ”I don’t understand why this lady is making a big fuss over a key. Over here, not just bedroom keys, but even front door keys are left at the door in places like under the doormat or in a flowerpot. That way, if necessary, you don’t have to break down the door to get in, making it convenient to use.” This is indeed true. Many households living in the suburbs abroad do this, especially in old communities, where more people follow this practice.

In new immigrant communities, few people do this, ultimately due to differences in cultural habits.

William continued, ”In my uncle’s house, every room has a lock and key, but children are not allowed to lock themselves in their rooms. So the keys are left at the door, convenient for elders to use when necessary.”

Lawrence Winters was not very familiar with this, but felt William made some sense.

Moreover, it was not late at night but rather morning.

Lawrence Winters looked at Alice Blythe with curiosity and tentatively asked, ”Miss Blythe, is that the case?”

Alice Blythe reluctantly nodded, listlessly saying, ”Yes, William is right, children are not allowed to lock themselves in the room. If they do, many unpredictable things can happen. Once I turn eighteen...”

Lawrence Winters lowered his gaze, thinking this measure really prevents good people, not bad ones.

But since even Miss Blythe admitted it was a ”cultural habit” difference, as an outsider, what more could she say?

Lawrence Winters nodded and stopped talking, walking out of Miss Blythe’s bedroom with them.

This was the first time in many days that Miss Blythe walked out of her room.

Her memory even remained stuck many days ago.

But life abroad was uneventful, day after day for decades. Even if memory halted decades ago, it was nothing shocking, let alone just a few days.

A walk outside would reveal that the neighborhood from decades ago looks exactly the same as now, even the convenience store by the street hasn’t changed at all, only the person running it grew older.

Miss Blythe followed them to the dining room, seeing so many people there, becoming curious again.

Lawrence Winters explained, ”We’re from a production team from China, filming something interesting here. Mr. and Mrs. Blythe kindly lent us the house for shooting; we hope Miss Blythe understands.”

”Oh, it’s fine, you can shoot. But there’s nothing interesting in our house; there are many museums in the city, which I find very fun, often spending the whole day there.” Alice Blythe said, sitting at the dining table and starting to eat breakfast.

Her eating manner was very civilized, taking small bites and not making any sound when drinking milk.

According to the contract signed between the planning committee and the Blythe couple, they couldn’t let Alice Blythe’s real appearance be seen.

So the drone basically wouldn’t capture Alice Blythe’s appearance; even when it had to show her bed position during the exorcism yesterday, instant special effect software masked her position entirely.

Earlier, when Alice Blythe walked downstairs, the instant special effect software directly edited her into someone else.

And William was never captured by the drone from start to finish.

Because he hadn’t signed a contract with the planning committee, judging by his attitude, it’s clear that even if asked, he wouldn’t sign.

Now that Alice Blythe began eating breakfast, William sat beside her, speaking to her with care, even mentioning taking her to the hospital for a check-up.

Considering she had just woken up after being unconscious for several days, this was necessary.

He didn’t sit long, using his hand to tuck a strand of hair behind Alice Blythe’s ear, whispered a few words to her, then stood up, saying, ”Since you’re well now, I’m relieved. I’m going to work, Alice, remember to tell Uncle and Aunt to take you to the hospital for a check-up after breakfast.”
