Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

”You’re not?” Kali was stunned. She had thought everyone who joined the Secret Investigation Department was at least an Extraordinary.

”I’m not. I was unlucky and didn’t awaken my family’s Extraordinary Bloodline.” Lydia recalled what her brother looked like when he awakened his and said with disgust, ”Besides, I don’t like how it looks. It’s too ugly.”

”Like Marco?”

”Him? His family’s Blood of Chaos transformation is actually one of the better-looking ones. You can’t even imagine the truly ugly ones.”

”Is that so?” Kali watched her thoughtfully and asked tentatively, ”In that case, have you ever thought about walking the path of faith?”

”Faith?”

Lydia froze for a moment, then after a moment of thought, her eyes lit up. ”That’s right! Why didn’t I think of that before? I can become a Holy Professional through a church.”

”Let’s see... Dawn, Storm, Red Moon, and Earth... Which one should I choose?”

”The Dawn Church, of course!” Kali said without a second thought.

”Hm? I almost forgot you’re a Candidacy Saintess for the Dawn Church. If I choose to believe in the Dawn, you could probably guide me, right?”

”Of course...” Just as Kali was about to agree, she thought of something and said, a little embarrassed, ”Well, that’s assuming you can actually set foot on the Dawn’s path of faith.”

”No problem. With my intelligence, I’m sure He will accept me as a believer...”

Hearing the two women’s conversation, Wei’en unconsciously scratched his head. ’One of them really dares to suggest it, and the other really dares to go for it.’

He didn’t say anything, though. Everyone has the right to make their own choices, and others can’t interfere even if they want to.

For example, Kali was a devout follower of the Dawn, so it was perfectly reasonable for her to invite Lydia.

And as a normal person, it was understandable that Lydia would be eager to become an Extraordinary through the system of faith.

These were all personal choices.

BAM!

Wei’en watched as Lisi sent Marco flying with a single punch inside the arena. Marco crashed against the Defense Array and was knocked unconscious. Wei’en sighed internally. ’Looks like there’s no getting out of this.’

’Fine then.’

’Time to let Lisi have a taste of the sniper rifle’s power!’

In the end, at Wei’en’s strong insistence, Lisi had no choice but to agree to see a test of the sniper rifle’s power before their duel.

Coincidentally, right next to the Gladiatorial Arena was the place where members of the Combat Department usually practiced their firearm marksmanship. There was a dedicated firing range there.

Once they arrived, Wei’en didn’t hold back. Under the hesitant gazes of Lisi and the others, he chose a target two kilometers away.

’Haste! Blast! Runes, activate!’

’Aim! Fire!’

The instant he pulled the trigger, the bullet had already struck the target, and the power of the attached Blast Rune erupted violently.

BOOM!

The target, which was durable enough to withstand a blow from a department head, was instantly torn apart. The violent explosion also kicked up a fierce wind, messing up the hair of Lisi and the others.

”Whoa!!”

Seeing its power, Lisi sucked in a cold breath. ”Wei’en, are you sure this is a gun? And not the power of some high-impact Rune Array?”

She was secretly relieved. Thank goodness Wei’en had persuaded her; otherwise, if she had taken a bullet like that without knowing what it was, she wouldn’t even have known what killed her...

Marco and the others had the same reaction. They looked at the distant target, then turned to look at the extravagantly designed sniper rifle in Wei’en’s hands, and all unconsciously swallowed hard.

”The power of this gun is... terrifying!”

Kali patted her ample chest, saying with lingering fear, ”If Captain Lisi had been hit by that just now... that’s just too scary.”

Lydia’s reaction, however, was different from the other two. Her eyes flashed with greed. ”Wei’en, can you sell me this gun? I’ll pay a high price!!”

”Sell it?” Marco came to his senses. ”That’s right, Wei’en, are you selling this gun? You said you made it yourself, right? Could you make one for me? I’ll pay a high price, too.”

”Well...”

”Alright, stop putting Wei’en on the spot,” Lisi said, regaining her composure and interrupting them. ”If I’m not mistaken, this gun of yours has a Rune Array, doesn’t it?”

”Yes,”

Wei’en nodded and looked apologetically at Marco and Lydia. ”It’s not that I don’t want to sell it, but this gun requires the Puppet Manipulation Skill to use. Since you’re not Wizards, it would be very difficult for you.”

”Aww...” Lydia sighed in disappointment. ’Forget being a Wizard, I’m not even an Extraordinary. I’m even worse off than Marco.’

Marco was also a little disappointed, but still asked, not ready to give up, ”Then could it be modified? Would it work if you removed the Rune Arrays?”

Wei’en thought for a moment and nodded. ”That method could work, but the power would be reduced somewhat.”

He knew very well that the Rune Array’s power was responsible for the vast majority of his sniper rifle’s strength.

But even without the Rune Array, the sniper rifle’s power was still far greater than a standard-issue firearm. It would at least have the force of a blow from an ordinary captain-level individual, which was more than enough.

However, if he were to modify it into a sniper rifle that a normal person could use, he would need to install a scope.

”Now, I believe you were the one who seriously injured Bolsen yesterday.” Lisi moved closer to him, her eyes fixed on the sniper rifle, studying it without blinking.

Seeing Lisi so close, Wei’en instinctively shrank back, holding the sniper rifle out further away from his body.

It was just that her chest was so prominent it was about to press against his arm...

This couldn’t help but remind him of the contents of the Illusion Realm he’d experienced yesterday, formed by the erosion of the Desire Origin...

’Painful. Painful, yet blissful...’

「Meanwhile, in the Basil District of Caster City State.」

”So tired.”

A tall, burly man in a sailor uniform, drenched in sweat, threw down the shovel in his hands, collapsed to the ground, and panted heavily.
