Wizard: I Add Points and Hunt Monsters

’If someone is after that forbidden artifact... that’s actually quite possible!’

The Resuscitation Coffin was a powerful forbidden artifact capable of resurrecting the dead. It wasn’t strange that someone would want it.

”Not at all,” Clelia shook her head. ”I just wanted to let you know that I came to this city-state without any major objective.”

”So?”

”So, some of the things I’ve done were purely out of curiosity.”

Curiosity... Wei’en was incredibly frustrated.

Her curiosity had pushed his progress toward the Resuscitation Coffin to sixty percent. How infuriating!

Looking at Clelia... in the pure white miniskirt she had just changed into, he really wanted to give her a rough one right now.

”Then I ran into you. And after that, well, a series of things happened that have made it impossible for me to leave here for a while.”

Clelia crossed her legs, glancing at Tina with interest. ’When I was changing just now, did the white-haired girl’s eyes seem to have a spark of life in them?’

’That’s it?’

Wei’en frowned. ”I just want to know what happened in the Basil District.”

”...How boring,” Clelia rolled her eyes at him. ”Those people from the Black Pearl are digging a secret tunnel underground.”

”A secret tunnel?” Wei’en pointed at the ground. ”They’re down there?”

”Mhm. It looks like they’re trying to dig their way to the Natali District.”

’There?’

The only underground structure Wei’en could think of there was the Nocturnal City, where the City-State Array was located...

’Could the Black Pearl be after the City-State Array?’

”Do you know their objective?”

”Not yet, but,” Clelia chuckled softly, ”I do know that it’s bound to be something very interesting.”

”More interesting than the Abyssal Sect’s parasites?”

”The Abyssal Sect... Hmph. Sooner or later, I’ll make Bolsen pay the price.”

”Yeah, yeah, you’re the best,” Wei’en said perfunctorily.

”Now that we’re done with that,” Clelia took out a letter and handed it to him. ”Help me deliver this.”

”Deliver...” Wei’en just glanced at the envelope without taking it. ”You have so many puppets, just send one of them. You need me to do it?”

”If I could get it delivered, would I be asking you for help? Look closer!”

Clelia held the envelope straight, pointing at the name on it. ”This letter is for Ales Kilibali, the Director of your Secret Investigation Department.”

”I’d love to deliver it myself, but he never leaves the Secret Investigation Department, and I can’t get in...”

”I see,”

Wei’en thought for a moment and took the letter. ”I can deliver it for you, but you have to help me investigate the Black Pearl’s purpose for digging that secret tunnel.”

”Deal!”

Clelia extended her small, fair hand.

SLAP.

Wei’en high-fived her, sealing the deal. ”If there’s nothing else, I’m going to go carry out my mission.”

”Mission? The one with the parasites?”

”Mhm.”

”Then don’t waste your energy.”

Now that the serious business was over, Clelia seemed to relax. ”The Array here isn’t just for show. Even if there were any parasites, they would’ve been killed off by now.”

’Killed them all?’

That would save him a lot of trouble.

”You...”

BOOM, BOOM, BOOM!

Just then, a series of three violent explosions rang out.

Wei’en could feel the ground shake, as if a giant cannon had bombarded the earth, causing intense tremors.

”Hm?”

”Sounds like a fight has broken out outside.” A flash of excitement crossed Clelia’s face. ”I’m going to watch the show. Don’t forget to deliver my letter.”

”Wait, I’m coming too.”

With that, Wei’en quickly pulled Tina along and ran outside.

’I have no idea how long I’ve been delayed here; I almost forgot about Santiago and the others.’

”To the north.”

Wei’en extended his Spirit perception and immediately located two people from the Combat Department: Hector and Chirut.

’The ones fighting them are... Collins and Elno?’

But Collins was no longer dressed as a refined, serious butler. Instead, he wore a linen tunic, the kind sailors often wear.

Several tentacles behind him frantically smashed down towards Hector and Chirut. Each strike was like a cannonball, blasting the surrounding buildings to rubble.

The slime on those tentacles was flung about with his attacks, corroding anything it touched.

Beside him, Elno was still swinging his long blade, coordinating his attacks with Collins.

This forced Hector and Chirut into a passive defense, not daring to let any of the slime touch them.

”Santiago, if you don’t get here soon, we’re really going to die!!”

”Hector, it’s the Vasquez’s Blood of Greed and Corruption! They’re core members of the Vasquez Clan!”

Both of them held a gun in one hand and a shield in the other, standing back-to-back in a tactical formation.

”Dammit, Elno, if we don’t kill them now, we’re going to be in big trouble.”

”Oakley. Des. Toma.”

With a cold expression, Elno’s body blurred into an afterimage. He slashed his long blade horizontally, instantly appearing behind Hector and Chirut.

CLANG.

Chirut’s shield was sliced in two, falling to the ground along with his arm.

”Pfft...”

”Chirut, Magic Potion Number 4!” Hector panicked. ’Santiago, hurry up! If you don’t get here, we’re dead for sure!’

Before Hector could even finish his warning, Chirut had already fumbled for a Healing Potion and poured it into his mouth. A bit of color returned to his deathly pale face.

”Keep going!” Collins sneered.

”Yeni...”

PFFT.

Just as Elno was about to turn and strike again, he heard a faint sound of something cutting through the air by his ear...
