Warhammer Divine Throne

On the narrow battlefield of the Nanzi Plain, large groups of Knights and Knight’s Squires were dashing in all directions, raising their cavalry lances and sharp swords, charging everywhere, striving to maintain their momentum.

The Chaos Warriors in black heavy armor were undoubtedly the elite fighters of the Skalings Tribe. Egil could not sacrifice them as easily as those old, weak, sick, and small tribes; thus, the Chaos Hell Cannons could only bombard elsewhere.

After a fierce battle, the besieged knights continued to resist relentlessly. The knights’ indomitable spirits were bolstered by Sirulf’s battle flag, granting them unparalleled strength.

A northern Chaos Mammoth Giant Beast fell with a wail. The hundreds of spear and sword wounds on its thigh explained its downfall; even such a colossal creature could not endure long under the knights’ relentless resistance.

”Chain Lightning!” The Lake God Prophet Anara cast her spell at the perfect moment, unleashing a violent chain of lightning, striking the head of another Chaos Mammoth War Elephant. This time, even a war mammoth as massive as a hill couldn’t withstand it. The court mage hired by Dalheid seized the opportunity to cast a spell, a Doomsday Pendulum precisely striking the head of the Chaos Mammoth War Elephant, a giant scythe formed by mana hitting the beast’s forehead.

Finally, the fearsome beast fell dead before the knights, never to lift its head again.

”Yeah!” The knights trapped within the Barbarian formation cheered with boosted morale.

But their smiles quickly disappeared as the combined spells of the Chaos Mage Chakoy and his subordinates summoned a powerful Flaming Storm, determined to engulf all the knights in flames. The knights scattered immediately, but those who couldn’t escape were charred into piles of coal.

”Let’s go hunt the head of that Southern Duke; it’s the best offering to the Blood God.” At this moment, Egil decided to head directly for the central army.

He intended to kill the enemy commander and seize the final victory.

At this time, most of the knights had already charged into the formation, leaving Dalheid’s central army defenseless. Egil personally rode the Chaos Steel Bull, drums thundering, horns blaring, his Personal Guard, the Crimson Guard, chanting the vows of the God of Chaos, charging towards Dalheid—majestic, grand, mighty, and terrifying. The charge began like a tidal wave, the throng of heads bobbing like waves surging forward, Egil’s voice like a blood-red comet streaking across the night sky, aiming directly for Dalheid in the central army.

Khorne’s Divine Chosen Champion charged along the way, with no Brittania Knight able to withstand even a single strike; in just one charge, he had already slain one Count, four Barons, and a dozen knights.

At this moment, the only ones standing between Dalheid and Egil were Count Rein leading a hundred knights, and another Baron, Ede, leading an infantry battalion composed of soldiers.

Count Rein saw the approaching enemy with unstoppable momentum and realized this was the Barbarian commander. He silently gripped the sharp sword in his hand and then turned back, casting one last look at the high-flying Sirulf’s battle flag in the central army.

Afterward, this venerable knight turned no more, not even for a moment.

”Protect the Duke! Never retreat!”

”Fight to the death!”

Endless courage burst forth from Count Rein as he faced the gigantic figure of Egil, clad in a blood-red plate armor bristling with countless spikes and iron rings. Count Rein showed no sign of fear, his power at the Legendary Initial Tier as the count spurred his horse to battle, confronting Egil head-on.

”Clang!” The clash of cavalry lance and war axe rang out, and Count Rein, with a scream, lost an arm. His cavalry lance shattered into several pieces, including his right arm, which Egil directly severed, blood gushing out, dyeing his warhorse and robe red.

Count Rein, with his remaining left hand, desperately drew the longsword from his waist. His face contorted, on the verge of madness: ”Damn you, barbarian scum! Accept the Lady’s judgment!”

Egil remained calm, looking at Count Rein’s fearless expression, even with a hint of admiration on his face.

This was a man of integrity, deserving an honorable death.

Khorne’s Divine Chosen Champion struck hard with an axe, its immense power even leaving a burnt smell in the air. With a casual wave, he dissipated Count Rein’s attack, imbued with his last strength, before Egil used the Hell Battleaxe to directly slash open Count Rein’s chest.

Blood splattered.

Count Rein swayed on his horse, able to feel his strength and consciousness fading, but his courage and rage surged, reaching their peak.

”Let me swing once more, Lady, I beg you, let me swing once more for you!” Count Rein prayed frantically in his heart, ”This barbarian must not get near the Duke.”

Unfortunately, Count Rein was spent, and a Chaos Chosen Warrior with a long halberd impaled him from behind, then sliced off his head: ”Blood for the Blood God, skulls for the Skull Throne!”

”No! Damn you! He was mine!” Seeing this, Egil was filled with rage, decapitating the Chaos Chosen Warrior with one axe swing: ”Die!”

”The Count has fallen!” The knights and soldiers cried out in grief.

Hearing this news, Dalheid felt his heart clench, knowing that Count Rein had fallen.
