Warhammer Divine Throne

The knights of Brittania swiftly demonstrated to the Northern Barbarians the might of the Old World’s strongest knights. When the first Champion Knight charged into the barbarian formation and pierced a barbarian’s chest with his cavalry lance, the knights surged into the barbarian ranks like a tide.

”War!”

”Advance!”

”For the Lady!”

”Crack, crack!” The dense sound of cavalry lances breaking echoed in the first formation of the Barbarian Army. Hundreds of barbarians died violently on the spot under the knights’ onslaught, while the remaining barbarians were crushed by the knights’ immense impact amidst the clash of metal and the sound of bones breaking, as the Barbarian Raiders fell in droves.

”This is vengeance from Leonais!” Count Rein roared angrily as he charged, discarding his shattered lance and drawing his sharp sword from his waist, shouting loudly, ”Don’t stop, keep charging forward!”

”Advance!” The knights shouted loudly, bringing death to the barbarians.

Yet the barbarians did not show much fear. Even as the knights charged, many barbarians were trampled and crushed, landing in the sky. The remaining barbarians gathered around the knights like ants, swinging their War Axes, desperately trying to delay the knights’ charge.

The knights’ charge was indeed devastating, but when the barbarians were not deterred by the knights’ charge, numbers were no longer an issue. Nearly every barbarian rushed madly toward the knights, shouting slogans of the Chaos Four Gods.

This was perhaps one of their few opportunities to gain the attention of the Evil Gods, for the barbarians did not fear death; they feared dying namelessly.

Count Rein quickly realized the barbarians’ plan.

The knights began to change tactics; they could not get entangled with the barbarians and had to continue their path of charge.

Otherwise, if they lost momentum, the knights would lose their advantage.

In the barbarian central army, Egil watched the knights charge toward him, the King of the Skalings showing a bloodthirsty smile. He turned to look at the Chaos Dwarf Lord, Zumala, and said, ”Fire.”

Zumala grinned cruelly at the words, ”Since you want it fired, then fire it.”

”Release the prepared one!” Egil then told his adopted son, the Chaos Mage Chakoy.

Chakoy bent down, ”Release!”

Hundreds of Chaos War Dogs were released under the command of the Chaos Mage, charging directly toward the first formation of the barbarian army.

The grotesque Chaos War Dogs, their faces covered in lumps and growths, were released from their cages. These dogs charged madly to the knights, their small, agile bodies dodging the knights’ cavalry lances.

Their target was not the knights on horseback; they directly attacked the warhorses.

”Ahhh!” A knight’s horse was attacked by the War Dogs, and frightened, it reared its forelegs high and then fell, causing the knight to be attacked and knocked off the horse. Several Barbarian Warriors rushed up and finished off the knight with a few axes.

Under the attack of the War Dogs, with the barbarian army entangled closely, the first wave of knights found themselves in a predicament.

Dalehail immediately realized that the knights’ charge had stalled, and he quickly signaled to the Holy Grail Knight, Eisen, ”Keep attacking!”

”Knights! Follow me!” Seeing the situation, Holy Grail Knight Eisen led the remaining knights into the barbarian formation.

This time, the intense pressure caused the first formation of the barbarians to start collapsing. Eisen, mounted on his Elf Warhorse, wielded his sword with lethal precision, slaughtering a mass of barbarians. In the face of the Holy Grail Knight, the barbarians’ proud martial valor was utterly crushed.

”I am Rolle, Chief of the Balder Tribe. Holy Grail Knight, what is your name?” A Barbarian Champion raised his axe, challenging the Holy Grail Knight Eisen.

”I am Holy Grail Knight Eisen.” The Holy Grail Knight Eisen swung his blade, slicing two Chaos War Dogs in half.

”I am here. Will you take my head?”

”Gladly!”

Three minutes later, with Chief Rolle slain by Holy Grail Knight Eisen, the first formation of the Barbarian Army finally began to collapse.

And at this moment, two deep crimson beams appeared in the gloomy sky.

In the barbarian central army, Egil sneered at the battlefield.

The first formation of the barbarians was bait, filled with the old, weak, and sick among the barbarians, along with Barbarian Warriors from small tribes. Egil did not care for them.

Now, the Chaos Hell Cannon was roaring, with groups of peasants crying out as they were loaded into the red-hot cannon barrel as cannonballs.

The consumption of vast amounts of human flesh and souls made the Demon sealed within the Chaos Hell Cannon emit sounds of satisfaction. Then, just as everyone on the battlefield saw, the two deep crimson beams rose into the sky and then descended upon the chaotic first formation of the barbarians.

With its indiscriminate wrath, the Demon exploded in the barbarian ranks.

This explosion directly struck hundreds of knights and thousands of barbarians. Their armor melted in the Demon Flame of the Chaos Hell Cannon, and their bodies exploded with the massive blast, their blood turning into boiling filth, mingling with the molten iron to boil on the spot.

”Have the barbarians gone mad?” Dalehide was shocked by the sudden turn of events, his mouth agape, ”Are they killing their own?”

Egil showed a cruel smile.

The barbarians began to slowly retreat, yet the knights, driven mad by a red vision and seeking vengeance for their fallen comrades, charged into the depths of the barbarian formation without any intention to regroup. After the complete collapse of the first formation of the Barbarian Army, what lay before them were tens of thousands of Barbarian Warriors and Chaos Warriors.

These Chaos Warriors and Barbarian Warriors formed the core of Egil’s army!

This was Egil’s plan. The Champion of Khorne’s strategy involved sacrificing part of the army, letting the first formation be surrounded and annihilated by the knights. His tactic was simple: Egil aimed to celebrate the birth of his soon-to-be-born son with the blood and skulls of these Brittania Knights!

Barbarian troops surrounded the Knight Army from all sides. Dalehide and Jules were alarmed.

”Advance!” Jules immediately led the remaining few knights and the Infantry Corps to support.

At this moment, the unexpected occurred. From the snow piles and snow-covered land on the roadside, a large group of Chaos Warriors suddenly emerged. These over a thousand Chaos Warriors were composed of Chaos Warriors already driven mad and barbarian warriors with gray hair, wielding their battle axes with force, yearning for a glorious death.

These individuals had been ambushing in the snow piles and snow for hours. Only those who had undergone Chaos Mutation and were extremely cold-resistant could achieve such a feat.

This group of Barbarian Warriors cut off the connection between the knights and the Infantry Corps. The fragile troops of Brittania were quickly slaughtered, retreating step by step in the face of the fierce Barbarian Warriors, while the knights were surrounded by Egil’s forces.

The battlefield began to tilt in favor of the Skalings.

At this moment, Egil gazed at the embattled Knight Army. Despite the encirclement, the knights of Brittania, proud and well-trained, continued to resist fiercely. Egil’s elite army of over ten thousand barbarian troops even showed signs of struggling to contain them.

Meanwhile, the troops slaughtering the infantry also met strong foes, as Holy Grail Knight Commander Jules led his army into the battlefield. Inspired by the Holy Grail Knight, the Infantry Corps halted their retreat and began regrouping.

The balance on the battlefield swayed back and forth; no one knew who would collapse first.

”Strategy is no longer of use at this moment.” Egil rose from his black skull throne, picking up his pair of Hell Battleaxes—Gam and Gom—and strode toward the battlefield, ”All troops, charge!”

Behind him, the Chaos Mammoth War Elephant appeared on the battlefield, its colossal form taking massive strides onto the field. These towering beasts, their eyes burning with rage instilled by the God of Darkness, trampled everything in their path, including knights and barbarian soldiers, like grass.

This war had entered its climax.
