Warhammer Divine Throne

The small voice was full of arrogance and rudeness. A blonde girl dressed in red and blue Brittania noble attire, surrounded by many knights guarding her, stood behind the three people. She extended her small hand and rudely pointed at Laine: ”Where did this knight come from, daring to bother Sister Surya! Capture him at once!”

”...”

”...”

The situation became quite awkward. The knights protecting the young girl were in a dilemma, unsure whether to rush forward or stay put, so they could only stand there, continuously signaling to the girl.

”What’s wrong? Bono? Take action with your men!” The girl did not yet understand what was happening and kept pointing at Laine’s face without moving, which caused many passersby to stop.

”Miss… Miss, look at the front of that knight…” Her guard quickly whispered to her.

”The front? Hmph! Just a mere Baron, what’s there to see?” The girl placed her hands on her hips, her overbearing demeanor forceful and aggressive: ”Take action quickly, or I’ll have father dismiss all of you!”

Laine furrowed his brow and instinctively used his gaze to inquire from Surya.

Who is this?

”She’s Duke Theodoric of Borelion’s granddaughter, named Fiona. I’ve met her a few times.” Surya also furrowed her brow, clearly displeased with the girl’s rudeness: ”Ever since Fiona was born, the Duke of Borelion’s domain has been in constant turmoil, so she spent most of her time sent to Kulona to study, always under the care of court maidens and clan knights, so… her temper isn’t very good.”

”She seems to like you?” Laine continued to ask, only for Surya to shake her head: ”No, she doesn’t like me, she’s just looking for an excuse to stir up trouble.”

”It’s a habit; Fiona is always like this. When she feels bored, she’ll find ways to cause trouble.” Surya sighed softly: ”People are either afraid of her or indulge her, which makes her happy.”

”...” Laine was speechless, so he muttered ”crazy” under his breath, unwilling to pay further attention to the girl’s provocations. He instead calmly stated: ”If you’re going to take action, do it quickly. However, it would be best if you thought through the consequences of your actions.”

”Capture him, he’s just a Baron, what could the… consequences be?” The girl’s face was full of arrogance, but halfway through her words, a look of shock appeared on her face.

This young Baron is a Holy Grail Knight?

”Sorry, very sorry! Sir Holy Grail Knight, the young lady meant no harm, please forgive her. She mistook you for someone else!” Fiona was still in shock, but her knights had hurriedly rushed forward to apologize: ”Very sorry!”

”If anyone has any complaints about me, Laine Macado, please write to Knight Commander Eugene of the Holy Grail Knight Order stationed in Kulona Branch, or directly to the Holy Grail Knight Order headquarters in Kakasong Duchy. I will remember your rudeness, Miss Fiona, but I won’t hold it against you this time. Let it not happen again.” Laine coldly replied.

”...” Fiona bit her lip tightly. The girl knew she was in trouble but could not bring herself to say the words of apology, so she could only forcefully lower her head in silence.

After Laine and the others had walked away, the girl raised her hand and slapped her clan knight across the face: ”You fool! Why didn’t you remind me that man is a Holy Grail Knight!”

”But… Miss, we hadn’t realized either!”

”Idiot!” Another slap landed on the clan knight’s cheek: ”It’s all your fault, just you wait! I won’t let you off! I’ll tell Grandpa about this incident!”

......

Laine was unaware of the commotion outside, on the contrary, the Holy Grail Knight never halted his steps, and he walked into the Holy Grail Cathedral.

This magnificent church with a giant dome existed even before the Brittania Kingdom was established. Back then, the first cathedral was used for worship and veneration of the then Elf Race Main God, Lord of Phoenix—Asuyan.

In the ensuing centuries, as elves retreated, Imperial rule and influence waned, and the local noble powers of Brittania rose, this cathedral continually changed its object of worship and was repeatedly rebuilt and expanded along with the passage of history.

Until about eight hundred years ago, with the legendary tale of the ”True Brittania” First Knight King Arthur.

Their long spears pierced through the land’s sores, their sharp swords cut down the shadows’ wickedness. In the Lady’s blessing, Brittania’s people believed the knights would never fail. Twelve Holy Grail Knights, united under Arthur’s lead, experienced eleven great victories before Arthur and all the knights arrived at the Kulona Plains.

It was undeniably the last battle, and also the most legendary battle.

That day, from the southwest Arden Forest emerged countless Beastman Army, crossing the Sannes River, rushing towards Kulona, numbering over ten times that of the knights.

That day, innumerable Green Skin Tribes formed a great Waaagh!, crossing the Gray Mountain Range, creating an unstoppable torrent, numbering at least fifty thousand strong.

That day, supernatural vile creatures, gigantic rats as big as humans ravaged inside Kulona City, destroying half of Kulona. Countless rats poured out from the city gates, appearing behind the Knight Army.

And so, Arthur and his knights were surrounded by enemies over twenty times their number.
