Warhammer Divine Throne

Originally at this time, Laine had no desire to answer the door; the Holy Grail Knight wanted to take a short nap or sit quietly for a while.

”Knock knock~ Lord Laine?” called a voice from the door: ”Are you available now? Someone is looking for you.”

”Someone is looking for me?” Laine stood up and walked to the door: ”Who is it?”

”It’s Mr. Olivier, Lord Laine’s knight,” replied a servant.

”Olivier?” The door opened, and the young Ranger Knight slipped inside: ”Oh! My Baron! Look at what I’ve brought for you!”

”Oh? What’s this?” Laine had already caught the aroma, and the Holy Grail Knight’s eyes lit up.

It was roasted beef, black pepper roasted beef! An entire steak!

This was a high-class item, something even the Great Nobles couldn’t afford to eat every day. Where did Olivier get it?

”Gabriel sent someone to deliver this to you. As soon as I got my hands on it, I brought it over quickly. Eat it while it’s hot, my Baron.”

”Join me, Olivier!” Laine pulled out two bottles of sparkling apple sweet wine and invited him enthusiastically.

So the Baron and his knight sat down, enjoying the feast heartily.

The tender and juicy black pepper beef and the bubbly apple wine brought great comfort to the Baron. Some minor grievances were fleeting with the satisfaction of taste; he felt much better.

Seeing this, Olivier seized the moment: ”My Baron, do you have any plans for tonight? You shouldn’t be engaged these days, right?”

”Hmm, I’m not busy these days, I just can’t leave the capital until the result comes out,” Laine said casually.

”Then… shall we arrange some entertainment?” Olivier’s eyes darted around, then he whispered: ”Tonight, at the Vie Courtyard in Kulona, there’s a masquerade ball!”

”Masquerade… ball?” Laine’s eyes twinkled, his interest piqued: ”Is it ’that kind’ of masquerade ball?”

”Yes, it’s exactly ’that kind’ of masquerade ball,” Olivier grinned mischievously: ”Not only can you do this… but also that…”

”Really, a masquerade ball where you can do this and that?” Laine’s mouth curved into a smile: ”Wouldn’t that be…”

”Exactly, my Baron. What kind of scenery lies behind the curtains, what surprises beneath the drapes, my Baron, wouldn’t you like to witness it?” Olivier coaxed: ”It’s alright, everyone wears masks, no one cares, even if they do, so what? Knights have returned from battle, it’s time to relax.”

In this regard, Laine thought Olivier was indeed correct. In Brittania, knights strived to adhere to the knightly path principles, but there’s great leniency toward occasional ”relaxation,” and most cities in the Kingdom offer such places.

The Holy Grail Knights are the same; the Eight Virtues of Chivalry do not include demands in this aspect.

(There has always been a rumor that the Holy Grail Knights’ needs in this area are considerably larger than those of ordinary people.)

”On the battlefield, knights must ensure the big gun strikes the enemy accurately; off the battlefield, they must ensure the small gun is full of vigor; only then are they excellent knights.”

— Lewis, the second Knight King of Brittania

”Hmm~” Laine felt somewhat tempted.

”So, my Baron, shall we go and see?”

”Hmm~ Indeed, after long battles, with nothing much now, it seems alright to have a look?”

”Hehehe~”

”Hehe~ Hehehe~”

The two men emitted a lewd laughter together in the room.

”Lord Laine, Mr. Olivier, where are you planning to go?” Just then, a gentle female voice came from the doorway.

”Uwah!” Olivier jumped up in fright, and Laine was shocked too.

Looking up, they saw the Duke’s daughter and her maid standing at the room’s door; Olivier hadn’t closed the door!

Today, the female knight was still in her Marchioness attire, only replacing long trousers with a brown checkered short skirt. Her long, slender, smooth legs were clad in black stockings, silver strap high heels adorned her beautiful feet. Her waist-length golden curls were held in place by a blue headband, flawless in beauty and dignified in appearance.

Following Surya was her maid Sylvia. Compared to Surya dressed in Marquis attire, Sylvia was not eligible to wear noble attire. She wore a deep red Brittania standard female noble outfit, a ribbon tied at her chest, under her brown checkered skirt were gray stockings and leather shoes. The maid was shorter than Surya, who was approaching one meter seventy-five, standing slightly under one meter seventy, her dazzling long golden hair was pinned high at the back of her head.

This equally valiant female knight seemed to have heard more, looking at Olivier with a dangerous glance, but realizing he was a knight under Laine’s command, she restrained herself.

”Ahem, we were discussing Kulona as Brittania’s capital is indeed prosperous, and we didn’t have a chance to see it properly before. This time, having finally come, we definitely want to tour the famous sights.” Laine remained very calm, his face unchanging, not flustered at all: ”But Olivier and I have encountered a problem, we are both foreign knights unfamiliar with Kulona’s streets.”

”This is actually what I wanted to mention, Lord Laine. You probably don’t have anything planned coming up, right?” The female knight didn’t mind the two men’s dodging appearance; instead, she generously pretended she didn’t know anything and invited Laine: ”If you don’t have plans, would you and Sylvia do us the honor of showing you around Kulona?”
