Warhammer Divine Throne

”Yes, his talent is unparalleled in the entire Old World... Do we need to help him?” Odrich still had some concerns about Laine’s safety.

”No need, he will definitely handle it well.” Schultz dismissed the suggestion, having absolute confidence in Laine.

Laine was the divine child.

What the two didn’t notice was that, in the distance, Amelia, dressed in a maid’s outfit, was hiding behind a tree, secretly observing the movements inside the orphanage, her expression complex.

”As expected, that sword is the Goddess of Vengeance.”

Amelia noticed the single-handed Longsword strapped to her back restlessly stirring, so she held it tightly in her arms: ”Is that so? You feel it too?”

”I’m sorry! I’m truly sorry for having you suffer with me, I’m really sorry!!” Big drops of tears fell onto the cloth wrapping the Longsword: ”But no matter what, I can’t let you fall into another’s hands.”

Seemingly affected by the girl’s tears, the Longsword stopped its movement, and the girl hugged it tightly to her chest: ”Let’s go home, back home.”

...

”What about using swords or hammers? I will burn this city and take your skulls!” The Life Taker finally had enough of Laine’s ”performance,” feeling that Laine was just bluffing.

”I am the Demon-Breaking Blade!” The Goddess of Vengeance swung, a dazzling white light illuminating the ruins of the orphanage interior, as the silver blade clashed with the Life Taker’s giant axe, carving a deep mark into the axe.

Horrified, the Life Taker saw that even the War Axe blessed by Khorne could not withstand the sword’s might?!

The white flame slightly touched the Life Taker’s body, leaving bone-searing pain, a sensation it hadn’t felt since converting to the Blood God. Instead, this intensified its frenzy, launching a series of assaults on Laine.

”I am the Light of Dawn!” The silver sword edge sliced across the Life Taker’s chest, leaving only white flames in the air, evaporating the blood.

With a scream, the Life Taker retreated, a deep bone-exposing wound left on its chest, overlaid over the previous wound—a last-ditch effort by Jacob before his death. Even as a Champion of Khorne, Belte’s wound had not fully healed.

”Ahhhhh!!!” The Life Taker felt the soul-burning pain, the white flames like a terrible curse attached to its wounds.

Faithful to the Blood God would not concede defeat for this, it rose again, engaging in fierce combat with Laine.

Laine’s swordsmanship was astounding, the single-handed Longsword in his grip like a silver Fire Dragon, continuously breathing Dragon Breath.

The sword was too powerful, each strike emanating extreme danger, the sacred energy scorching its soul, destroying its body, and the Life Taker dared not confront directly, as even its blood god-blessed War Axe couldn’t withstand the power of the Goddess of Vengeance.

Holding the Goddess of Vengeance in his hand, Laine felt a blood connection.

This was his own sword, the Emperor’s favor to Laine, rare were the Primarchs who received the Emperor’s true fatherly love, Horus was one, as was he, the sword specially crafted by the Emperor, with even the Macado surname given personally by the Emperor.

The Warhammer was just Laine’s secondary weapon, the Holy Sword of Vengeance his primary weapon.

As Laine steadily advanced, the Life Taker’s space compressed to the limit, knowing it would die if this continued.

”Dance of Death!” It unleashed its strongest combat skill, axe and claws out, charging at Laine.

Unhurriedly, Laine drew a shotgun Fire Cannon, pulling the trigger.

The shotgun’s powerful impact interrupted the Life Taker’s combat skill, the exploding mercury bullets forcing it to retreat, its old strength gone and new strength yet to come, leaving it momentarily stunned.

”Amentok’s Net!” Jialan Witch’s spell arrived, white magical threads extended from Veronica’s lovely figure, using the opportunity to tightly bind the Life Taker.

”Haah!” The witch’s spell only constrained the Life Taker momentarily, its body muscles tensed, filthy energy stretching out, tearing the magic threads. Veronica’s spell failure didn’t mean she failed; the burning white flamed giant sword already sliced through the Life Taker’s neck.

”Face judgment, Demon!”

The great head fell to the ground, the Life Taker’s large body collapsing with a thud, twitching twice before losing all life.

A glass jar fell to the ground, shattering to pieces, the flesh inside evaporated by the divine flame, turning to ashes.

The renowned Demon Hunting Master Belte of over ten years, the disgraceful Fallen Hunter Belte, the Chaos Champion Life Taker of Blood God Khorne, was officially consigned to history by Laine. His soul shattered by Laine’s spiritual energy, his past turning to dust.

The battle was over.

”Phew~” Veronica, pale-faced and unsteady, stood beside Laine, leaning on his shoulder: ”You should have drawn the sword sooner, then there wouldn’t be so much trouble.”

”Often, I subconsciously avoided it, but now I’ve come to understand that the time for hiding is over. I will no longer hide my true name, from today on, I will walk the world as Laine Macado.” Laine sheathed the Goddess of Vengeance, his voice somewhat labored: ”Moreover, wielding this sword really consumes a lot of stamina.”

In many previous battles, Laine didn’t want to use the Goddess of Vengeance, but this Holy Sword, once unsheathed, was like a bottomless pit absorbing his stamina and spiritual energy. With his previous power, he couldn’t sustain the Goddess of Vengeance’s consumption, so he didn’t draw the sword against the Four-armed Bull Demon and Bireg, for unsheathing it meant a decisive strike was necessary, or his stamina would be instantly depleted.

But now he was different, having ascended to the Legendary Middle-tier, his stamina multiplied, and under the Holy Grail Engraving’s blessing, Laine could now wield the Goddess of Vengeance for a longer time.

Picking up Belte’s head, Laine removed Jacob’s skull from the bone spike, under his pale blue spiritual flames, the vice president’s skull gently turned to dust: ”Master Jacob, I’m sorry.”

Only the drifting smoke answered him.

”Agneda Krausner, the Aesthetic Society president is beheaded! The Khorne Champion Belte has perished at the hands of the great human hero Laine!” The Duke of Marinburg and the Sea God Archbishop walked in, Schultz loudly proclaimed: ”Thanks to Mr. Laine’s aid, I hereby formally declare in the name of the Duke of Marinburg that Laine is henceforth another guardian of Marinburg, Mr. Laine will always be a friend of Marinburg!”

”I feel very honored.” Laine did not refuse, immediately agreeing, the Duke was helping him continue to build his reputation, and they had an understanding that Schultz, to some extent, served him.

The Ocean Church Archbishop Manannan also came up to shake hands with Laine: ”We shall return now to wipe out the remnants of the Aesthetic Society, to completely eliminate this Chaos Sect.”

The delegation left a portion of the army to clean up the battlefield, while the rest immediately charged towards the headquarters of the Aesthetic Society located in the Shield Coin District, and with the help of the Sea God Knights and the Iris Guard, the headquarters of the Aesthetic Society was promptly overrun.

The noble merchants of Marinburg turned a blind eye to this event, for they stood to gain from the new round of reshuffling, finding no reason to come into conflict with the Duke of Marinburg and its supporting forces.

”What are you doing? What are you doing?!” An infamous artist’s face was full of shock, standing up for art at the risk of his life.

The Grand Duke of Marinburg declared in a deep voice: ”We are defending civilization, sir. Move aside if you don’t want to die.”

Sir Robert took Schultz’s hint, and with a swift stroke, the artist’s head fell, his life ended instantly, while the other nobles and merchants of Marinburg turned a blind eye to the event, tacitly allowing it, as the new round of reshuffling made them the benefactors, with no need to cause any friction with the Duke and Ocean Church.
