Warhammer Divine Throne

”Yes! That’s him!” Agneda’s arms, adorned with various jewelry, gripped the table tightly.

The hunchbacked man’s face was sweaty; just prophesying a small segment had consumed a large amount of his magic power.

The image on the crystal ball froze at this moment, Laine’s face gradually obscured by a white fog, becoming indistinct.

”Not good!” The hunchbacked man instinctively turned off the crystal ball, then immediately activated the protection array in the room and signaled Agneda to duck down. In the instant they both did so, an enchanting yet angry female voice swept through the area: ”Who dares to use the Great Prophecy Art to prophesy my Divine Chosen!”

The two remained perfectly silent.

The illusionary array set up by the hunchbacked man took effect. The Lake Fairy scanned around but found no target. She couldn’t afford to continuously consume divine power on such a search, so after failing to detect anything, the Goddess departed.

Ten minutes later, the two dirty and disheveled individuals finally stood back up. Agneda’s figure was in disarray, her silk gown stained with dust, her stockings snagged, and her makeup smudged: ”Well, at least we know Laine is under the protection of the Lake Jade Pool.”

”Ah~” The hunchbacked man also got up, shaking his head: ”I can’t complete the Great Prophecy Art, President Agneda. Here, take your money and leave.”

”No, if the prophecy art won’t work, you can use the Truth-telling Technique! The priesthood of Lake Jade Pool can only protect his future, not his past. I can give you more money if needed!” Agneda pulled out five more Gold Coins of the Deities, frantically clawing at the prophet’s neck with sharp nails.

”...” The hunchbacked man’s body was trembling violently; he knew he was already in too deep. But as a prophet of the Tzeentch Cult, he knew that if he dared refuse, Agneda would simply kill him.

The crazed followers of the Slaanesh Cult would do anything because the teachings of Slaanesh encouraged all atrocities and the pursuit of all sins. The followers of the Chaos Gods not only slaughtered one another but even within the same cult, they would constantly perform mutual slaughter.

Ultimately, the hunchbacked man extended his trembling hand and took the money.

The Truth-telling Technique is the opposite of the prophecy art. Prophecy art attempts to detect a person’s future, while the Truth-telling Technique traces back into a person’s past.

Under Agneda’s watchful eye, the prophet once again reached toward the crystal ball.

The Truth-telling Technique cannot be cast on those at the level of the Holy Sanctuary or above, nor on Church Archbishops. Most Dukes or great nobles above that rank would have their Court Mages cast spells to protect their pasts. However, Laine doesn’t count among those, so the Truth-telling Technique can marginally work on him.

Laine’s face once again appeared in the crystal ball, and then it gradually began to grow younger. The events experienced by the White Wolf Knight gradually unfolded before the two.

”Yes, this is it, this is it!” Agneda nodded repeatedly.

But just as they traced back to when Laine was three years old, another wave of golden fog enveloped Laine’s past, rendering it indistinct and completely obscuring the crystal ball.

”Yes! Right here! Quick! I need to see what his origins truly are!” Agneda’s slender fingernails grasped the prophet’s collar: ”Quick!”

The prophet had no choice but to extend his hand, continuing to pour his life force into the crystal ball in anguish, causing him to age rapidly at a visible pace.

The image in the crystal ball began to change.

To both individuals’ surprise, the image within the crystal ball no longer focused on Laine as a toddler. Instead, it directly departed from this world, traversing through the endless cosmic void and the terrifying massive subspace storms.

Laine, from beyond this world?!

”Ah! Ahhhh!!!” The prophet was rapidly crystallizing. His life force, soul, and all his fleshly energy were being frantically absorbed by the Truth-telling Technique. In the blink of an eye, both of the prophet’s hands had completely turned to crystal, and the crystallization continued to spread to his shoulders and gradually to his entire body.

Through the endless subspace storm, the last scene in the crystal ball was a planet shrouded in sacred golden light. Then everything abruptly stopped, the crystal ball shattered in the gaze of some Supreme Being, turning to dust.

”No!!!!” The prophet’s eyes spewed forth searing flames, his body spontaneously igniting. In an instant, the red flames consumed the prophet’s entire being.

The Truth-telling Technique continued to drain the prophet’s energy.

All of his life force and soul? Not enough!

The life force and soul of the entire Tzeentch Cult in the village? Not enough!!

All the Chaos Energy within the underground Chaos Altar of the village? Still far from enough!!!

The Truth-telling Technique followed the channels of faith of the Tzeentch followers and the God of Darkness, continuing to draw.

In the subspace, within the labyrinth of Tzeentch in the Chaos Realm, an agonized scream echoed. The Lord of Change, God of Destiny, and one of the Four Chaotic Evil Gods, Tzeentch, howled incessantly. It found that its Chaos Energy was depleted by nearly a quarter due to the backlash of the Truth-telling Technique by some believer.

In furious wrath, the God of Darkness transformed countless followers into Chaos Eggs, but that’s another story.

In Agneda’s astonished gaze, half of the prophet’s body turned to ashes, and the other half to crystal. Not only that, but everyone in the entire village was blinded and turned into idiots, as the village’s structures collapsed under fire and earthquakes. Agneda had barely escaped for a few minutes when the village turned to ashes and then collapsed into ruins due to the destruction of the underground altar.
