Warhammer Divine Throne

Late at night, Amber Avenue 53.

This detached building has been surrounded by an protection array established by Veronica. Ordinary people can’t break in or spy on the activities inside, and Laine has inscribed many gray runes filled with purifying and sanctity power in many hidden places.

At the end of Amber Avenue, a towering Wizard Tower stands at the end of this block, safeguarding all the nobles living on Amber Avenue.

So living here, Amelia feels very secure.

The girl wore a complete maid outfit, carefully sat on the side quietly waiting. This girl has a peculiar ability; it seems as long as she becomes still, she can perfectly integrate into the surrounding scenery, making it difficult for ordinary people to notice her existence.

Veronica lay on the sofa, reading a Magic Book. A white wolf plush blanket covered her body, concealing her beautiful figure completely, revealing only a pair of jade feet wrapped in flesh-toned stockings.

After watching for a while, Laine still hadn’t returned. Jialan Witch felt a bit bored, so she tentatively tried to start a conversation: ”Amelia?”

”Yes? Your Grace the Witch!” Amelia cautiously responded.

”Do you understand High Gothic Language? Who taught you?”

”My father hired a tutor to teach me when I was young.”

”A tutor?” Veronica pursued the inquiry relentlessly: ”Which tutor, what was his name? Where is he from?”

”A tutor from Nuer, he...” Amelia was about to continue when Laine returned.

”I’m back, Veronica, Amelia... where’s Catherine?” Laine checked around but didn’t see the young apprentice.

”Catherine went to sleep; I sent her.” Veronica wasn’t bothered by the interruption and pointed at Laine’s heavily philosophical face with a playful note: ”I warn you, don’t approach me with that face.”

Amelia stood up: ”Let me help you remove your disguise, Mr. Laine.”

”Alright, thank you, Amelia.” Laine remained in the guise of ”Van Darkholm,” sitting on the dining room’s wooden chair while Amelia helped him remove his disguise bit by bit.

Veronica flipped the blanket aside and sat up: ”How is it, Laine? Have you found anything?”

”Confirmed, if there are no mistakes, the Chaos Altar of the Aesthetic Society should be established in the orphanage outside the city! And Belte is likely hiding inside,” Laine calmly said.

”Are you sure?” Veronica’s beautiful almond eyes sparkled: ”Tell me, Laine, what did you encounter at tonight’s art salon?”

Laine briefly recounted his experiences.

”White meat... sacrifice, the Aesthetic Society is using those orphans and infants as offerings!” Veronica immediately understood: ”After the sacrifice, what’s left becomes the white meat!!!”

White meat, which means young children’s meat, is human flesh!

The Chaos Altar confirmed to be inside the orphanage because nobody would be foolish enough to take orphans from the orphanage elsewhere for the sacrificial ritual—that would make the problem too obvious to be detected.

The conversation settled in Amelia’s ears, yet the young maid showed an uncommon calmness for her age. She completed removing the last of Laine’s makeup, turning the man back to his handsome and charming Aachen People appearance.

”Orphanage... orphanage... orphanage.” Veronica pulled over a wooden chair and sat down: ”So, shall we search the orphanage now?”

”Calm down! Veronica! It’s not that easy to search the orphanage... Amelia, thank you; you may rest now.” Laine first casually wiped his face with a towel handed by Amelia, his spirit somewhat fatigued. Even though he was an uncorrupted Genetic Primarch, witnessing the Slaanesh Cult gathering firsthand still left him feeling uneasy.

”It’s alright, Mr. Laine, I’m not busy.” Amelia took the towel and gently shook her head. Read full story at novel·fıre·net

”Alright, then let’s continue, Veronica, do you know how hard it is to search the Aesthetic Society Orphanage? Two nobles from the Marinburg Upper House are involved in the orphanage’s establishment and have honorary titles within it. If we dare to directly search the orphanage, the orphanage has the right to refuse us entry.” Laine continues as he stands up and paces in the dining room: ”The orphanage hosted by Agneda isn’t a publicly open organization; we can’t just break in forcibly.”

”Aren’t you pretty close with His Grace the Duke? Can you ask the Duke to grant us the authority to search the orphanage?” Veronica recognized the difficulty of the matter and asked the witch in a tentative manner.

”Requesting the Duke’s authority is simple, a word from me, but I can guarantee, the moment I get the search power from the Duke and step out of City Hall’s doors, someone will instantly inform Agneda, and in the end, we won’t find anything at all.” Laine’s brow knits tightly as he extends a finger: ”One chance, we only have one chance.”

”As long as we make one mistake and can’t find evidence of the Aesthetic Society being part of the Chaos Sect, the Aesthetic Society will counter and expel us, and we’ll be labeled as unwelcome by Marinburg and expelled. Schultz is indeed the Duke, but in Marinburg, business is business; the Upper House is the main governing body of this city.” Laine’s eyes flicker to and fro.

”So... we need to meet the following conditions simultaneously.” Veronica extends three fingers.

”First, we need to obtain the authority to search the Aesthetic Society Orphanage; otherwise, the orphanage has grounds to refuse us entry.”
