Livestream Matchmaking: My Intel Infinitely Refreshes

Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Brother Zhang, I’m Your Fan

[The streamer’s robbing us!]

[What does that mean? Is the streamer a fortune-teller?]

[You’re so dense. The streamer obviously knows the guy.]

[When it comes to connections, Brother Zhang is really something else.]

The woman seeking advice was quick on the uptake. She immediately understood what Zhang Zhe meant. ”You know my blind date?”

”Yes, of course I do.”

Zhang Zhe nodded. He already had access to the Zhuyin Marriage Agency’s database, so finding the man himself wasn’t difficult.

Besides, the guy was in his bachelor’s club chat group.

’If this woman pays up,’ he thought, ’I could give half to the guy, throw in a free VIP consultation, and he’d probably be willing to share his entire thought process in front of the whole group chat.’

”Then can you help me? Try to set us up again?”

”I can pay.”

”How much can you pay?” Zhang Zhe was a little curious.

”How about the same as Teacher Zhou? Eighty-eight thousand.”

’Holy crap!’ Zhang Zhe hadn’t expected one of the bros from his group to be worth so much. For a moment, he even considered contacting the guy and putting on a show for the money.

But it was just a passing thought. There was no point in earning money like that.

Seeing that Zhang Zhe didn’t immediately agree, the woman upped her offer:

”I’ll add another forty thousand? How about one hundred twenty-eight thousand?”

That was a serious amount of money. In most provinces, it was enough for a bride price to get married.

Teacher Wang thought Zhang Zhe was just dumbstruck with joy and nudged him.

”Hey, she’s talking to you. Is it a deal or not?”

”No.” Zhang Zhe crossed his hands to make an ”X.” ”I can’t take this money.”

”Miss, let me be honest with you. With your background, you can’t marry an A8, especially not locally.”

”You’ve been in this line of work for so many years. Countless people have met you offline. With a little digging, how could you possibly hide your past?”

Zhang Zhe didn’t tell the woman that even if she did get together with that Brother Liuzi, they probably wouldn’t make it to the altar.

Because he would be the one to break them up.

Brother Zhang would make his move.

Nowadays, the moment one of the guys from the bachelor group found a potential partner, they would almost always ask him to help analyze the situation.

Some even had their matchmaker bring the girl directly to his livestream.

He’d encountered situations like this woman’s before. Many women, through sheer proactiveness, could temporarily make a man infatuated.

But the man’s family wouldn’t be so easily infatuated.

Although getting married is easier these days, if it came down to eloping with just their IDs and without the man’s family fortune, these women wouldn’t be willing to marry.

[The streamer is being very diplomatic. What if the guy’s dad used to be your number one top donor?]

[Trying to buy off Brother Zhang for 128k? Who do you think he is, a neighborhood security guard?]

[Female streamers should just give up on finding someone local. Why not move somewhere else and pretend to be a normal person?]

Seeing that the bullet comments were actually giving the woman real advice, Teacher Wang grew restless and immediately banned the commenter for a day.

’Is this the time and place for giving advice?’

Even a good person like Zhang Zhe wasn’t trying to help this woman find a solution, because she didn’t deserve it.

”What if I lower my standards?” The woman wasn’t ready to give up. ”I don’t need an A8, A7.5 is fine. I’m pretty much an A7.5 myself.”

”You’re dreaming. Just the fact that you come from a single-parent family makes it hard to marry into a family of equal social standing.” Zhang Zhe did a quick calculation for her. ”If you really want to find someone to settle down with, go find an A5 or A6. Do some charity work.”

[No, no, no! I’m an A6 and I wouldn’t marry someone like that either!]

[Who said an A6 should marry her? Brother Zhang is telling you to go be a kept man and mooch off her!]

[I have 1.2 million in debt. What A-level does that make me?]

[The brother with debt should contact this woman. Become a male streamer. If you’re lucky, you’ll earn it all back in a year.]

[Lucky, you earn a million? You’re not going to mention the ’unlucky’ part at all, are you?]

”An A6?” Hearing Zhang Zhe’s words, the woman stood up abruptly. ”Then forget it.”

”I’d rather be single for the rest of my life than be with someone poorer than me.”

”That’s great.”

Watching the woman walk away with a sway in her hips, Zhang Zhe silently breathed a sigh of relief on behalf of all the poor guys out there.

’If she actually moved to a new city, transferred all her assets to her brother and mother’s names, and then went on blind dates, she could really have some guy with average emotional intelligence completely wrapped around her finger.’

...

After seeing the oddball woman out, Zhang Zhe laid his head on the table and napped for a while. In the end, it was Teacher Wang who woke him up.

It was two in the afternoon. Time to get to work.

The line of people hadn’t stopped growing while he was asleep.

The aunties and uncles at the matchmaking corner had nothing better to do, so they conscientiously formed a long queue.

But at the very front of the line was a younger guy.

He was at least twenty years younger than the people around him.

Because he was a bit dark-skinned, he looked much older than Zhang Zhe, but he was actually also born in ’95.

”Brother Zhang, I’m a fan from your stream! We’re the same age.” The man pulled out his phone to show Zhang Zhe; he was currently watching the stream. ”Didn’t you go to the city’s Number One High School?”

”Whoa, are you doxxing me?” Zhang Zhe struck a defensive pose.

”No, no! You said you went to a 211 university, and aren’t there only two high schools in our city whose students can get into one? I went to Shida First Affiliated Middle School.”

”Oh, I see.” Zhang Zhe pointed to himself. ”Then I guess we were classmates, in a way.”

That meant this guy was in the same grade as him. Back in the day, they had fought in the same trenches during the unified exams, mock exams, and the college entrance exam.

Although they were from rival camps.

Their common enemy was the exam-oriented education system.

”So you’re still single?” Zhang Zhe asked, looking at him. ”Or are you divorced?”

”Always been single. Never even been in a relationship.”

”The bitterness of it all... it’s a long story...”

The man briefly explained his situation. He was born in ’95, stood at five-foot-four, and weighed 143 pounds. He wasn’t a Qing City local; he had tested his way into the city from a smaller county-level city.

He was an only child. Qing City had implemented the one-child policy quite effectively back then, so there were a lot of only children among the post-’95 generation.

His parents ran businesses in their county town—one did renovations, the other ran a supermarket. Their family was considered well-off in their hometown, but in Qing City, they had no advantage at all.

Like Zhang Zhe, the man was also a programmer. But he had returned to Qing City right after college and found a real grind of a company that specialized in outsourced projects, doing things like building webpages and maintaining clients.

In a good year, he could make 200,000.

”I’ve already bought an apartment in Qing City and just finished paying off the mortgage last year. Even though its value has dropped by about 200,000, at least I’m settled.”

”But my personal problem is just too difficult to solve.”

”I came to this matchmaking corner three years ago and had zero luck.”

”The main problem is that I’m too short.”

[Not just short, but fat too. At five-four and 143 pounds, he must be a little butterball.]

[Hit the gym, bro. You’re about to get that middle-aged spread.]

[Your courage to show up in person is commendable, but you’re kind of lowering the standards of our bullet-comment audience.]

[Being short really does make it hard. At five-foot-four, you’re shorter than a lot of girls.]

[Go south. Go find one of those petite Southern girls.]
