The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 1713: Chapter 698: Curiosity

”Purely out of curiosity.”

To show he didn’t have any other bad intentions, Zhou Wang sounded especially sincere.

This question had actually been bothering him for a long time.

He figured... it had probably been bothering her fans for a long time too.

Whenever Xia Xiwei attended events, she’d often rock bold strapless deep-V outfits. Especially that black gown from Weibo Night—those bouncing shots are still etched deep in countless people’s minds.

But the weird thing was, the moment Xia Xiwei changed into regular clothes or loungewear, that heart-stopping effect vanished in an instant, even becoming a bit... plain and unremarkable.

Some people said she didn’t really have anything to begin with, that everything in those gowns was just forced up, but fans immediately refuted that: look at what she wore on Ao Island, a vertically slit evening dress with the opening all the way up to her waist—that couldn’t be just ”pushed up,” right? Yet the peach was still very big.

Others said she was naturally blessed, the very model of ”slim branch bearing heavy fruit,” and she just didn’t usually show it off—either it was inner beauty, or she deliberately kept it under wraps.

Because at events she didn’t have much choice, but personally she wasn’t that into overly sexy styling.

Everyone had their own take.

And as the man who should currently be the only one who’s ever gotten close to Xia Xiwei, Zhou Wang actually couldn’t give an answer either.

After all, most of the time things between him and Xia Xiwei started with feelings but stopped at propriety... Fine, honestly it was purely because Zhou Wang rarely had a chance to be alone with her. The only thing he could say for sure was that Xia Xiwei definitely wasn’t as fragile as she looked.

One-seventy in height, forty-seven kilos—sounds skinny, but as someone who’d touched her thigh, Zhou Wang could testify... she definitely had some meat on her.

As for whether there was ”substance” or not, perhaps the truth was about to be revealed.

Zhou Wang’s gaze burned.

”You’re not allowed to be curious!”

Xia Xiwei widened her big dark eyes and glared hard at Zhou Wang. Of course, it had zero killing power. Maybe because she could see he still hadn’t given up his pervy little thought, she huffed twice and suddenly changed the subject:

”Actually, it’s not like I can’t satisfy your curiosity...”

”Name your terms, anything!”

Zhou Wang’s eyes lit up at once.

”You post a Weibo...”

”I just remembered I’ve got something to do, I’m gonna head out.”

Before Xia Xiwei could finish, Zhou Wang let go of her without a shred of hesitation and stood up to leave.

”Then no Weibo...”

Zhou Wang sat back down again.

”Post a Douyin.”

”...Bye.”

Zhou Wang immediately got up to go again.

”Hey, Zhou Wang, are you seriously this bad at playing along?”

An annoyed Xia Xiwei yanked Zhou Wang back again. ”This won’t do, that won’t do, and you just said you came here only for me...”

”Xixi.”

”Hm?”

”Do you think Ding Yi is worse-looking than you? Objectively speaking.”

”Uh, as for Yiyi, she is of course very pretty. We’re about on par, I’d say...”

Even though she constantly fought openly and secretly with Ding Yi, Xia Xiwei still couldn’t deny the woman’s beauty, so she could only admit it.

”And did I meet her first, or you first?”

”...Her.”

There was no arguing that one. Xia Xiwei could only nod.

”So here’s the question.”

Zhou Wang sighed. ”Look, clearly I’m more familiar with her, and her looks and figure are no worse than yours. So why did I still come to you first?”

”So... why?”

Xia Xiwei was starting to feel a little less confident under Zhou Wang’s line of reasoning.

”On one hand, it’s because I subconsciously want to be closer to you. Believe it or not, Xixi, you just have that kind of quality about you—a built-in warmth. It’s like just looking into these eyes of yours, my mood gets a lot better...”

Zhou Wang tossed out sweet nothings that could lower Xia Xiwei’s IQ like they were free. When he saw her eyes begin to shine, he followed up immediately:

”On the other hand, it’s because I feel there are some things you can give me that Ding Yi can’t.”

”W-what... things?”

”Comfort.”

”Com... fort?”

Xia Xiwei’s tone turned strange, and she couldn’t help roasting him in her heart. Like letting you stare at my chest?

But no matter how straightforward she usually was, that was something she absolutely could not say out loud.

”Like holding you right now—it suddenly doesn’t feel so annoying anymore.”

Zhou Wang smiled. As he naturally wrapped his arms around Xia Xiwei’s soft body again, he said in a casual tone, ”It’s just losing a few billion, no big deal.”

A few... billion?

Xia Xiwei was not the type of woman who had no concept of money. Hearing that number, her breath caught.

She already counted as one of the fast earners—the kind who, as long as she didn’t slack off, could easily make eight figures a year. But several little ”targets” like that were still an amount she could never earn in her entire life, yet coming out of Zhou Wang’s mouth it sounded so light and breezy.

But she’d already witnessed Zhou Wang’s financial power more than once, so she knew he wasn’t bragging.

Imagine if she already had that much money, then lost everything overnight—”heartbroken beyond words” probably wouldn’t even begin to cover it, right?

The fact that this man could still smile meant his mental toughness was already insanely strong.

He was just a little bit self-destructive, but he still came to her. She couldn’t possibly make his mood worse, could she?

Thinking that, Xia Xiwei’s heart slowly softened again. She started reflecting on whether she’d been too much, that she couldn’t even agree to such a small request from her ”boyfriend in name only.”

Maybe... she could just think of it as filming a super racy scene. It’s not like there was anyone else here anyway—just the two of them.

Xia Xiwei pressed her lips together, her eyes shifting, then said softly, ”Zhou Wang, I just realized I still haven’t given you a birthday Gift.”
