The Wealthy Tycoon's Game of Life

Chapter 259: Chapter 155 Donate Ten Million! _3

Donating to a prestigious university was often a win-win option for successful individuals.

From these factors, for a high school to establish a private education fund and raise millions of dollars was already quite impressive...

After all, the reputation one could gain here was limited, and news reports in small towns rarely went viral, making it feel more like an act of kindness done out of love.

Zhou Wang glanced at the fundraising details, noting that the largest single donation in the past was three hundred thousand, from a businessman who made a name for himself on Hong Kong Island.

Most donations ranged from several thousand to fifty thousand.

After reading the report, Zhou Wang clicked his tongue. He initially wondered if donating just a million would look cheap, but now it seemed he was taking money a bit too lightly...

It was all that doggone system’s fault for making him swell without realizing it.

At this time, Li Xiwen, seeing most people had finished reviewing the materials, chuckled and said, ”Regarding the foundation’s income and expenses, if anyone has any questions, feel free to inquire at any time.”

After waiting a moment and seeing no one speaking, Li Xiwen continued, ”It’s almost the start of a new school year. The healthy development of the school still depends on your generous support. In the new year, we hope you will continue to support us as always, thank you!”

Li Xiwen’s concluding remarks were subtle, but everyone naturally understood her meaning.

Academician Zhao chuckled heartily, saying, ”Don’t worry, Principal Li, I agreed with my wife, you see, three months of salary is ready, and it’ll go straight into the foundation’s account.”

”We couldn’t possibly take your money, just having you honor us with your presence is Jing City First Middle School’s greatest glory...”

Li Xiwen quickly smiled and declined politely.

However, with Academician Zhao leading the way, everyone expressed, with smiles, their intention to continue donating, barely reaching the effect Li Xiwen desired.

But inwardly, Li Xiwen couldn’t help but sigh, realizing the momentum she wished to create during this school reunion was far from what transpired. Still, it was another promotional point to write about.

After discussing the main business, the atmosphere relaxed again. Those truly willing to donate just needed to make a transfer to the foundation’s account at this time.

Of course, this process needn’t be made explicit, as the donations varied in amount, and some discretion was always necessary.

After everyone chatted and laughed for a while, Li Xiwen spoke up,

”Next, may I invite everyone to move to the lecture hall? The opening ceremony for the event will be held there, with representatives from the education and municipal departments in attendance. According to the predetermined schedule, we will also invite two representatives of new and old alumni to speak on stage...”

The speakers had naturally been determined long ago, but after glancing at the alumni group message, Jiang Qingkui frowned slightly.

”What’s wrong?” Zhou Wang asked.

”The young speaker representative is Lv Bo...”

Due to the earlier unpleasantness, Jiang Qingkui evidently harbored some dislike for Lv Bo. Seeing the message in the group, she instinctively felt uncomfortable.

Zhou Wang glanced upward, noticing Lv Bo laughing and joking with several others beside him, his demeanor confident and spirited. He shrugged.

”Isn’t he anything special among your young alumni?”

”That’s true, but he’s always been working in the foundation, and others aren’t willing to take this spotlight. Anyway, everyone is about the same, so...”

Jiang Qingkui shook her head, ”Earlier, Director Qin asked if I wanted to speak on stage, but I still passed. It’s as good as killing me on the spot.”

Zhou Wang chuckled and changed the subject, ”Perfect timing, why don’t you get in touch with Qianqian? I’ll donate some money too.”

This was the natural course of action, and Jiang Qingkui wasn’t surprised, as she planned to donate herself as well.

”Mr. Zhou, how much are you planning to donate? Considering the current development speed of your career, for image considerations, I suggest the initial donation amount should not be less than two hundred thousand...”

Jiang Qingkui said halfway and discovered Zhou Wang was just smiling at her. She paused, ”What’s up?”

”Two hundred thousand?” Zhou Wang playfully slapped her, ”Are you kidding? Would it really be worth my personal trip if it was just for that amount?”

Suddenly slapped on the butt, although they were at the edge of the meeting room and Zhou Wang’s hand was behind her, theoretically not drawing attention, Jiang Qingkui had never experienced such a thing and promptly blushed.

Yet, she dared not react, only biting her lip to suppress her embarrassment and annoyance, asking, ”Then you mean...”

”Ten million, let’s donate that amount.”

Zhou Wang casually said.

”Ten... ten million?”

Stunned by the number, Jiang Qingkui forgot about the slap, looking at Zhou Wang in disbelief, ”You... you’re serious?”

”Certainly.”

I originally planned to donate thirty million, buy Germany... oops, wrong track!

Zhou Wang muttered to himself.

”Isn’t that too much?”

Over the past decade, the cumulative donation total was not even ten million. As she reluctantly calmed down, Jiang Qingkui tried to persuade him.

”Is it? I don’t think so.”

Zhou Wang replied blandly, ”In your eyes, I might be ordinary, but I know the principle of sharing wealth for the greater good. Ten million isn’t much to me. If it is left in the bank, it would gather dust, but donating it to my alma mater, its value can exceed ten million...”
