28: Advance to the top 32“That’s a good idea, but unfortunately, it’s too difficult to implement.”

Seeing the trump card Shi Li revealed, Guo Tian naturally understood his opponent’s intentions.

However, this Thunderhorn Deer alone needed 3 rounds to warm up.

And 3 rounds were enough for him to take out 2 or 3 of the opponent’s regular cards.

Even if you could deal 120 damage with one move, by then, only a bare commander would be left.

Subsequently, Shi Li revealed his second face-down card, the last row card.

【Rustle, rustle, rustle!】

The blue light representing a two-star character card gradually receded.

A large, self-luminous vine appeared, accompanied by the sound of rustling branches and leaves.

【Fluorescent Vine】

Listen to the Wind, 30 points, Two-star

Attack 30, 100/100, 0/40

【Nutrient Absorption - Passive】: Restores 10 energy points in the round a skill is cast.

【Nourish - 20 Energy Points】: The Fluorescent Vine gives 1 target 30 points of Healing (T1).

“So this is the character card he obtained after advancing to Gold 2.”

“In free-for-all mode, cards with unlimited sustainability are very important.”

“Shi Li’s Fluorescent Vine is indeed a good play, but unfortunately…”

“Unfortunately, Healing and attack cannot be balanced. Plus, with the warm-up in the first round, it essentially cannot participate in output throughout the entire match.”

“It’s a good card, but it would be even better if such a support card was worth 10 or 20 points.”

The teachers commented one after another.

The third card revealed was Shi Li’s newly acquired character card.

【Boing boing~】

A lazy Scarlet Slime floated out from the card face.

【Youyou Slime】

Chasing Wind, 20 points, One-star

Attack 20, 100/100, 0/30

【Youyou Physique - Passive】: Youyou Slime takes -10 less damage from attacks.

This card is actually similar to the Crude Stone Demon.

Both have 10 points of damage reduction, but relatively speaking, the Youyou Slime is more “free.”

When needed, it can still enjoy 10 points of damage reduction even if it participates in an attack.

It can be regarded as a minor upgrade of the Crude Stone Demon.

Moreover, to lower the average score for the Red Blade Maiden, a 20-point character card was necessary.

With the deck revealed to this extent, some teachers already fully understood Shi Li’s intention in building his deck this way.

“That kid Shi Li, he really has foresight.”

“That’s right, the role of the first row card is to absorb damage.

Speaking of absorbing damage, Defense is naturally the most effective.

But Defense fears hard crowd control and can be broken.

The Red Blade Maiden, with Tenacity, can completely ignore the opponent’s Defense-breaking abilities.”

“But putting such a card in the first row is somewhat overkill.”

Because Shi Li hadn’t revealed much during the grade card competition, the teachers, apart from knowing the Red Blade Maiden had Tenacity, didn’t know what other Characteristics she possessed.

Overall, they were still mostly unconvinced.

“You’re Gold 2, so this last card should also be a two-star card, right?”

Guo Tian, seeing this, had already decided his victory.

A two-star damage-absorbing card couldn’t make any waves in front of him.

The most important point was that he had hard crowd control cards while the opponent did not.

Therefore, the opponent’s Defense line was a mere facade in front of him.

Just like that, under everyone’s gaze, Shi Li revealed his last face-down card, which was also his first-row card in his deck.

【Please enlighten me!】

Accompanied by a delicate shout, a woman holding a red blade stepped out from the card face.

【Red Blade Maiden】

Berserk, 40 points, Two-star

Attack 40, 120/120

【Tenacity - Characteristic】: The Red Blade Maiden possesses the Unyielding effect.

【Abundant - Passive】: The Red Blade Maiden’s maximum health +20.

【Unceasing - Passive】: The Red Blade Maiden gains 10 points of Healing each round (T1).

(【Unyielding】: Immune to all control effects)

“What?! A Characteristic unique card?!

And it’s Unyielding?!”

When he saw the card face clearly, Guo Tian’s expression became quite grim.

“Bold.”

Fang Jinghai’s eyes, however, lit up slightly.

He hadn’t expected it to be a Characteristic unique card.

Shi Li’s evaluation in his heart immediately rose by a few points.

“A 40-point output card, just because she has Unyielding, he put her in the first row to act as a damage sponge…”

Xiang Bei was also surprised by Shi Li’s choice.

If it were her, she would never be willing to do such a thing.

As Fang Jinghai said, deploying such a deck without knowing the opponent’s deck truly required courage.

“Putting aside the high 40 points, this card is indeed very suitable to serve as a first-row damage-absorbing card.”

“That’s right, Unyielding immunity the opponent’s Stun, and her maximum health is also high. Crucially, she also has 10 points of sustained recovery each round.”

“Plus the Fluorescent Vine’s Healing, it’s equivalent to her receiving a total of 40 points of Healing from the second and third rounds.”

The facts proved that the analyses of the armchair commentators were correct.

Next, the game officially began. Guo Tian played 1 hand card to make his first-row card Defense.

The other cards focused fire on the Red Blade Maiden. Under the influence of Shi Li’s Defense hand card, only 60 points of damage were dealt.

At the beginning of the second round, with the two Healings, the Red Blade Maiden’s health returned to 100/120.

Guo Tian, who no longer had Defense hand cards, was forced to go all out, but could only reduce the Red Blade Maiden’s health to 25/120.

His own first-row card, however, was taken out.

The Red Blade Maiden survived until the third round before being defeated, and she also took out Guo Tian’s second regular card.

In the card game, as the saying goes, one step ahead, always ahead.

Ultimately, when Guo Tian’s trump card was taken out, Shi Li still had 1 regular card + 1 trump card remaining on his side.

“Amazing, amazing!”

“Which school is this person from? What’s his background?”

“Gold 2 fighting Gold 4, yet he cleared out the opponent with only 2 cards as a cost?!”

“This is simply a crushing victory!”

Judging solely from the game’s outcome, this was practically Platinum 2 fighting Gold 4.

It made everyone feel incredible.

“This Guo Tian is a typical example of a ‘pulling up seedlings to help them grow’ type of card player.”

“As a Gold 4 player, he only has 1 Defense hand card, which is a bit too few.”

“Among his 4 two-star cards, 3 should be monster cards, indicating that he didn’t put much effort into simulated missions.”

In the conference room, the teachers were also discussing.

Teacher Li secretly observed the principal’s reaction, but saw that he remained silent the entire time.

This made him feel a bit strange.

Shi Li, a weaker player, defeated a top student from No. 2 Middle School.

Logically, the principal should have been beaming with pride over such a face-saving matter.

Why was he so composed today?

Could it be that the old man had changed his ways?

However, what he didn’t know was that Principal Su, with his hand under the table, had already pulled out his phone.

He was continuously sending Taunt emojis to a WeChat contact named “Old Dog Chen from No. 2 Middle School.”
