11: Finals advancedIt was precisely by leveraging the advantage gained in the first round that Gong Ping maintained the upper hand in every subsequent round.

Liu Yue’s trump card was revealed when her third regular card still had 60/100 health remaining.

It’s important to know that in a Cube Card game, a trump card cannot normally be revealed proactively.

To reveal it, one of two conditions must be met:

1. A face-down trump card in ’Invincible’ status will be revealed in the next reveal phase if it takes enemy damage.

2. All of one’s regular cards are destroyed, and the trump card will be revealed in the next reveal phase.

Although the situation clearly seemed unfavorable, Liu Yue did not give up hope.

Because the hidden card in her hand still had a chance to turn the tide.

Unlike regular cards, a trump card receives an additional 100 health and 30 attack power bonus.

This means that after her trump card is revealed, its stats will be 60 attack, 200/200.

With just one hit, she could take down Gong Ping’s regular card.

”Even if she can instantly defeat Gong Ping’s regular card, Liu Yue is still at a disadvantage.”

”Yes, because the opponent will also attack her, so her trump card will face Gong Ping’s trump card with 170/200 health.”

”60 attack against 170 health only takes 3 rounds, while her 60 attack against the opponent’s 200 health takes 4 rounds.”

”What’s more, Gong Ping hasn’t even brought out his two-star character card yet.”

The void commentators had already begun their analysis.

However, Liu Yue was well aware of this and had already prepared.

As the action phase arrived, she flipped her wrist and pulled out a hand card.

”LV1 Shield: This round, absorb 30 damage for one card! (T1)”

With a delicate shout, Liu Yue played her hand card onto the card table.

Buzz...

A translucent spherical protective Shield appeared out of thin air, enveloping her trump card.

”A good hand card.”

Even Gong Ping expressed admiration for the appearance of this LV1 Shield.

This way, Liu Yue essentially took down the opponent’s regular card without taking damage.

In terms of card health, both sides would return to the starting line.

But when the next round arrived, what Gong Ping revealed was not his two-star character card.

”For fairness, I’ll also use a one-star trump card.”

His tone carried confidence and composure.

Furthermore, the distance between their card table and Shi Li’s spectator seat was not far, so the words could be clearly heard.

While saying this, Shi Li also saw Gong Ping glance over in his direction, subtly.

”This guy, he really knows how to put on a show.”

In response, Shi Li merely smiled.

Although Gong Ping’s trump card was also a one-star card, his advantage lay in the greater depth of his deck and the fact that he revealed it later.

So the trump card he chose could perfectly counter Liu Yue’s trump card.

Ultimately, in the one-on-one battle between their trump cards, Liu Yue could only watch herself lose, powerless to turn the tide.

For this situation, the students who had not yet been eliminated naturally cheered.

Because Liu Yue’s early elimination meant that the third-place spot was definitely open.

However, such things were still happening. When the draw results for the 4-to-2 match came out, Shi Li drew Gong Ping!

Undoubtedly, the winner between these two would become the first-place winner of this year’s grade card competition.

Now, it was essentially the finals moved up!

This duel naturally received extra attention from the teacher’s area.

”Who do you think will win this round?”

The physical education teacher’s question was clearly a bit provocative.

”That goes without saying, of course it’s Gong Ping.”

Teacher Wang crossed his arms and legs.

”Hmph, that’s not necessarily true.”

Teacher Li snorted coldly.

Their gazes collided, seemingly about to spark.

The other teachers were not as fond of stirring up trouble as the physical education teacher, so they all chose to remain silent and not express an opinion.

However, inwardly, everyone unanimously favored Gong Ping.

After all, Liu Yue was suppressed from start to finish, so Shi Li, also a Silver 4, should be about the same.

What’s more, a crucial point was that Gong Ping had not yet revealed his two-star card.

Soon, Shi Li and Gong Ping arrived at the center of the venue under everyone’s gaze.

Each match of the 8-to-4 round would be conducted individually and projected onto the large screen.

After both sides had arranged their pre-set decks, the card game officially began.

Shi Li currently only had four one-star cards, so in terms of deck-building tactics, it was difficult for him to make any significant changes.

Therefore, his first regular face-down card was still the Crude Stone Demon.

”It seems the so-called school’s number one is nothing special.”

As Gong Ping’s hand rested on his face-down card, he suddenly uttered these words.

Due to the absence of the third-year students, he hadn’t had much interaction with Shi Li.

It was also their first time meeting at a card table.

But Gong Ping would occasionally pay attention to school news, and Shi Li’s name was the most frequently appearing name.

At that time, he always thought that if he had stayed in school, the position of that name should have belonged to him.

As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Gong Ping revealed his first card.

As the card was flipped, a blue light filled the entire card table.

”Two-star card! This is the blue light of a two-star card!”

”Gong Ping actually sent out his two-star card as his first card!”

”It seems he’s going all out!”

Such an action naturally caused a stir of exclamations.

When the light settled, the projection of the character card also appeared.

It was a Barbarian Warrior, clad in animal skins and wielding a giant axe, with clearly bloodshot, furious eyes and bulging veins on his arms like tree roots.

Barbarian Warrior

Berserk, 30 points, Two-star

Attack 30, 100/100

[Greed - Passive]: If the Barbarian Warrior participates in killing a target, he gains 20 Healing (T5).

[Bully Strike - 20 Health]: If the target attacked by the Barbarian Warrior uses Defense, he gains 40 Healing (T5).

”How rare, is this a berserk-type damage-absorbing card?”

”Both of its only two traits are recovery-type traits, such strong recovery ability!”

”Compared to a steadfast-type damage reduction card, this is a tank card that can withstand a lot of damage without needing Defense!”

”And his active skill can perfectly counter the Crude Stone Demon’s Defense!”

”If Shi Li is wary of Bully Strike and doesn’t use Defense, the Crude Stone Demon will be defeated faster.

If he uses Defense, then the Barbarian Warrior can rely on his recovery ability to survive much longer than the Crude Stone Demon and absorb more damage.”

The void commentators immediately analyzed the situation.

Judging solely from the first revealed cards of both sides, Shi Li was indeed at a clear disadvantage.

”My card completely counters yours.”

Gong Ping said with a smile.

Hearing the other party say this, Shi Li could only secretly sigh, ’As expected.’

This Barbarian Warrior was clearly aimed at his three Defense hand cards.

It seemed this guy’s intelligence work was very thorough.
