13: This isn’t fair.“But even if he’s about to play a two-star trump card, can Gong Ping really turn the tide of battle?”

Someone raised a question at this moment.

“Since he chose to play the [Star-Up] card, he should be confident.”

“Exactly, and Shi Li’s trump card is at most a one-star card.”

“Two Characteristics against one Characteristic, the odds of winning are still very high.”

“The prerequisite is that Gong Ping must first deal with the Thunderhorn Deer that is about to explode without taking damage.”

“No, it seems he really can solve this problem.”

The students started discussing again.

“Come out! My two-star trump card!”

At this moment, Gong Ping had already revealed his trump card.

As the trump card was flipped, a shadow slowly floated out.

Everyone was familiar with this projection; it was the Shadow Apprentice he had used in the battle with Liu Yue earlier.

However, this time, the shadows on him were even denser, and his black robe was brand new.

This card had transformed into a two-star card.

【Shadow Mage】

Wisdom, 30 points, Two-star

Attack 60, 200/200, 50/50

【Inspiration - Passive】: Shadow Mage’s energy cap +10

【Magic Shock - 30 Energy Points】: Shadow Mage attacks 1 target, with [Stun] effect (T2)

Under Gong Ping’s cultivation, this card had long possessed two Characteristics.

Previously, it was limited by being a one-star card, so it could only carry one Characteristic.

Now that it had become a two-star card, it could naturally carry both Characteristics.

“Indeed! It’s this [Shadow Mage]!”

“As long as the opponent is stunned, their burst damage, no matter how strong, can’t be unleashed!”

“This way, he can defeat the Thunderhorn Deer without taking damage!”

“But even so, wouldn’t the [Shadow Mage] be equivalent to a no-star blank card after using one skill?”

“Even if their health is equal, can a blank trump card defeat Shi Li’s one-star trump card?”

At this point, someone else raised a question.

Regarding this, Gong Ping had, of course, prepared for it long ago.

The current turn proceeded without any surprises; Shi Li’s large deer was taken down by Gong Ping’s mage without damage under hard crowd control.

A new card-revealing phase arrived, and before Shi Li was about to reveal his trump card, Gong Ping spoke first.

“Let me guess, what Characteristic will your one-star trump card have?”

As he spoke, he pulled out a hand card: “Is it damage reduction, or increased health, or increased attack power?

However, a one-star card’s Characteristic, no matter how strong, can’t be that powerful.

I only need this hand card to solve everything.”

On the large screen, the camera had already focused on the hand card he had played.

【LV1 Charge】: Restores 10 energy to 1 card (T1)

“As expected of Gong Ping! He still had such a hand card hidden!”

“After stunning the Thunderhorn Deer and taking it down, the Mage’s energy is 20/50. By using this hand card, the Mage’s energy will reach 30/50!”

“Just enough energy to cast another [Stun]!”

“In a trump card one-on-one situation, the output difference gained by hard-controlling the opponent for one turn is enough to determine the final outcome!”

As soon as this hand card was played, the audience reacted strongly again.

The winner of this card game had been constantly swinging back and forth in their minds.

From initially believing that Gold 1 Gong Ping’s victory was a sure thing, to feeling that Shi Li would win by overcoming a stronger opponent after Shi Li gained the advantage.

Now, Gong Ping had played another combo of [Star-Up] + [Charge], once again taking the lead.

However, the card game had now reached its final stage, and holding the advantage at this point basically meant victory.

“So what.”

However, Shi Li’s response was indifferent.

He stretched out his hand and flicked his covered trump card with a finger.

Clink!

His fingernail collided with the hard edge of the card, producing a crisp sound, and then it flipped over.

But when his trump card was revealed, it didn’t come with any light.

This scene immediately made the teachers frown.

“What’s going on? Didn’t he already advance to Silver 4?”

“Why isn’t he taking out his one-star card, but instead playing a no-star card without light?”

“Is that one-star card not suitable as a trump card, or is he hiding his strength?”

“It’s come to this point, there’s no need to hide his strength, right.”

Even Teacher Li looked puzzled this time.

Could it be that Shi Li didn’t even want the reward of a two-star card?

However, very quickly, the face of Shi Li’s trump card was displayed on the large screen.

【Please enlighten me!】

The valiant female swordswoman appeared, holding a sword in one hand.

【Red Blade Maiden】

Rage, 40 points, One-star

Attack 70, 200/200

【Tenacity - Characteristic】: Red Blade Maiden possesses [Super Armor] effect

【Characteristic】: Vacant

It turned out that Shi Li had indeed removed the Red Blade Maiden’s Characteristic for the purpose of holding back.

Because there was no Characteristic, this card appeared in the lightless state of a no-star card.

In his opinion, the existence of this Characteristic was sufficient.

“No! This isn’t fair!”

After seeing the card face clearly, Gong Ping let out a cry of unwillingness.

Why did this card possess such a powerful effect as [Super Armor]?!

His carefully planned hard crowd control ended up being completely useless!

Moreover, with 70 attack against 200 health, it only needed 3 turns.

His own trump card, with 60 attack against 200 health, required 4 turns.

Even if it was a trade, he couldn’t win against the opponent!

This round… he lost!

“【Characteristic】?! Unique Character Card?!”

Teacher Li suddenly stood up from his seat.

This kid only told him that he got a one-star Rage card and advanced to Silver 4, but he didn’t say it was a Unique Character Card!

And the surrounding colleagues, even Teacher Wang from Class Three, cast envious glances at him.

One must know that the last time Twenty-sixth High School had a gifted student with a Unique Character Card was many years ago.

Today, Old Li was really lucky to have stumbled upon this.

“Congratulations, Old Li.”

“It seems your year-end bonus will double this year.”

“Take good care of your student; perhaps this city-wide unified exam can set a new best record for our Twenty-sixth High School.”

“Fortunately, the principal is still away on business and hasn’t returned, otherwise, who knows how happy he’d be.”

The teachers’ tones were full of envy.

Even the teachers were moved by Shi Li’s [Red Blade Maiden], so the students were naturally even more shocked.

They certainly knew what a Unique Character Card was; it was a standard for powerful high-ranking players.

They hadn’t expected that among their own classmates, someone already possessed one so early.

In low-ranked card games where hand cards are relatively scarce, when the situation reached this point, it meant there was no suspense left.

Ultimately, Gong Ping lost this card game, and Shi Li successfully took first place in the subsequent finals.

Gong Ping, having faltered in the semifinals, could only enter the loser’s bracket to compete for third and fourth place, eventually securing third place.

As a result, the top three places were perfectly divided among Class One, Class Two, and Class Three.

After the card competition ended, the top three were taken back to their respective homeroom teachers’ offices.
