My Cards are Infinitely Refreshed

7: 【Unique】Keepsake CardEven the cheapest one-star unique token card would cost thousands of cubic coins on the market.

Old He knew that Xiu Qingshan certainly wouldn’t care about such ”small money,” he just didn’t quite agree with this method.

After all, given the other party’s age, his mind was still in a developmental stage, and doing this was somewhat like pulling up seedlings to help them grow.

Especially for young card players without background or family wealth, it was more important to let them understand the principle that there is no gain without effort early on.

”Don’t worry.”

Xiu Qingshan just smiled at this: ”I gave him a unique token card.”

”So that’s how it is.”

Old He suddenly understood.

What is meant by a unique token card is not that the card itself is unique.

Rather, the character card it produces is unique.

Unlike ordinary simulation quests, the character acquisition quest completion for a unique token card only has 0% and 100%, with no intermediate values.

And there is more than one unique token card corresponding to the same quest, but once someone completes that quest, the other unique token cards will automatically be destroyed.

”This is a simulation quest I’ve been working on recently.”

Xiu Qingshan pulled out a stack of cards and said with a smile, ”I still have so many of them here.”

Each unique token card in his hand was identical to the one he had just given Shi Li, corresponding to the same quest.

After all, challenging a simulation quest once requires consuming one unique token card.

”It’s just giving him one unique token card, it’s not like he can actually complete the quest.

It’s good to whet the young man’s appetite and let him experience the brutal beating of a high-difficulty PVE dungeon early.”

”You really have a twisted sense of humor...”

Old He couldn’t help but laugh at this.

...

After signing the training contract, Shi Li took a bus back home.

Because his goal was originally to obtain a one-star character card, and now with the unique token card in hand, his objective had been achieved.

Before leaving, he also sold the material cards he had hunted and, combined with the monthly subsidy he had just received, his savings had reached over twenty thousand.

”With twenty thousand in hand, I should be able to complete the simulation quest.”

At this time, he still didn’t know that the card in his hand was a unique token card, and upon returning to his room, he eagerly opened his card player system panel.

He brought up the unique token card, and the projected image on it was a small, crimson dragon scale.

unique token card (One-Star): Consuming this card can activate the corresponding simulation quest.

Without hesitation, Shi Li immediately chose to use and consume it.

After clicking start, a line of text appeared in the translucent blue panel.

This quest is named: Crimson Blade.

As a proud descendant of the Dragonhorn Clan, Lin has diligently honed her skills since childhood.

In her sixteenth year, she became the top scholar in the martial arts examination of the Horn Kingdom.

Before her are three invitations from different martial arts academies.

Please help her make a choice.

A. Royal Capital Academy; B. Kawakami Academy; C. Arakita Academy

”If there are three long and one short, choose the short one; if there are three short and one long, choose the long one; if there are two long and two short, choose B; if they are uneven, C is invincible.”

Shi Li chose C.

Half an hour later, as the character was struck down by a heavy blow from the BOSS, a line of cracked text appeared on the screen.

Unfortunately, this quest failed.

”This quest... is a bit difficult.”

Shi Li scratched his head.

For a one-star character card quest, this quest felt many times more difficult than the three he had done before.

However, he did not show any concern about the quest’s failure.

Because very soon, a new line of text appeared.

Do you want to reset this quest for 1000 cubic coins?

This was his cheat.

When other people’s simulation quests failed, their unique token card would be directly scrapped.

But when his simulation quest failed, he could spend money to re-attempt it directly.

”It’s 1000 cubic coins this time? Why is it so expensive?”

Shi Li felt a pang of pain at this number.

Through observation, he found that as the number of character cards he held increased, the reset fees for the first three simulation quests became progressively more expensive.

He could actually accept this consumption.

After all, compared to others who had to buy a new unique token card when theirs was scrapped, the reset fee was already quite cheap.

It was precisely because of this excellent cost-effectiveness that he was able to continuously refresh his first three simulation quests until their completion reached 100%.

However, compared to the previous few hundred per attempt, this time the four-digit reset fee increase was somewhat alarming.

Shi Li could imagine that future reset fees would likely become higher and higher.

”Sigh, since I’m already here.”

But there was no other way, he still chose to refresh and reset.

He could only say that this time, he had to be more thoughtful when facing the options.

Another thirty minutes passed.

Unfortunately, this quest failed.

Do you want to reset this quest for 1000 cubic coins?

”This time, the number of rounds I lasted against the BOSS was even less than last time, I don’t believe it.”

Shi Li clicked reset again.

This went on again and again, until the sun was about to rise outside, and his savings were almost depleted.

”Finally!”

Under his bloodshot eyes, the character finally managed to defeat the final BOSS.

Different text from before jumped out on the screen.

You have completed this simulation, with a completion rate of 100%.

”Phew...”

Shi Li let out a long breath.

That was a close call; his funds had just run out.

He only had a three-digit remainder left; even one more attempt would have prevented a reset.

Originally, he no longer cared about the completion rate, as long as he cleared it.

As it turned out, he got 100% on his first clear, which was an unexpected surprise.

You can obtain character card [Red Blade Maiden (One-Star)] x1.

You can obtain hand card [Healing (LV1)] x1.

Do you want to reset this quest for 1000 cubic coins?

”Of course, it’s ’No’.”

The inertia of the entire night almost made him click ”Yes” by mistake.

The moment he clicked confirm, a message immediately popped up in his personal panel.

Berserk Resonance: 0% → 20%

At the same time, as if a switch had been triggered, the resonance levels of the other systems also appeared.

Berserk: 20%; Wisdom: 0%

Steadfast: 0%; Breaking Power: 0%

Chasing Wind: 0%; Listen to the Wind: 0%

Balance: 0%

”Huh?!”

Shi Li didn’t expect his card player system to have such a notification function.

This notification explained two things.

First, he seemed to have found a way to increase his resonance.

Judging from this progress bar, reaching 100% should mean achieving resonance.

It seems there’s a chance for him to get into a key university.

Second, it turns out that all seven of his card resonance levels were actually 0%!

He felt somewhat humiliated.

”Never mind that, let’s first see what kind of card it is.”

Closing the notification panel, Shi Li rubbed his hands, eager to try it out.

Putting that aside for a moment, one of the most anticipated scenarios for a card player is naturally acquiring new cards.
