When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal

Chapter 70: Chapter 69: The Overbearing CEO’s Little Wildcat 10

”What is it that I’m not supposed to be able to accept?”

Lu Youheng was speaking with Assistant Wu when the office door was suddenly thrown open.

Grandma Lu walked in slowly, her expression grim.

Seeing her, Lu Youheng quickly stood up to greet her, his face a mixture of surprise and affection. ”Grandma, what are you doing here? You didn’t even give me a heads-up.”

Assistant Wu also bowed slightly and tactfully stepped aside.

Grandma Lu’s gaze swept over the two of them before settling on Lu Youheng. Her tone was accusatory. ”If I hadn’t come over so suddenly, how would I have known what you’re trying to hide from me? Go on, tell me. What is it that this old woman can’t accept?”

”It’s nothing much. Just that you’re about to have great-grandchildren.”

”What?!”

Grandma Lu’s eyes widened, her mouth slightly agape. The grim expression on her face was instantly replaced by delighted surprise. She staggered a few steps closer to Lu Youheng. ”Are... are you telling the truth? I’m going to have great-grandchildren?”

Her voice trembled with excitement, and her hands unconsciously gripped Lu Youheng’s arms tightly.

”Yes, yes, yes. But they’re still small right now. You’ll be able to see them in a few months when they’re born.”

”Wait a minute. You little brat, are you just trying to humor me? I didn’t even know you were dating anyone. How could three great-grandchildren suddenly appear out of nowhere?”

Lu Youheng was momentarily stunned, then a sly smile touched his lips. He gently patted Grandma Lu’s hands, which were still gripping his arm, and explained, ”Grandma, it’s a long story. Song and I have actually known each other for a while. We were getting to know each other and letting our feelings grow. I was planning to tell you once things were more stable, but these little ones came as a surprise and threw a wrench in my plans.”

Grandma Lu looked at him dubiously, her brow furrowed. ”Hmph, you little schemer, trying to play games with me. So, which family does this Song girl belong to? You two aren’t married yet. I need to arrange the wedding for you immediately.”

”There’s no rush to get married. She’s currently abroad. But Grandma, you could go see her first. Help her get familiar with the Lu Family’s situation, so it’ll be easier for her to become my wife in the future.”

Lu Youheng proceeded to tell Grandma Lu all about Ji Xiaosong’s family background and her life story. In the future, she wouldn’t just be his wife or the mother of his three children; she would be the lady of the house, the matriarch of the Lu Family.

As the Lu Family, with businesses spanning the globe, they had accumulated numerous adversaries during their growth and stabilization.

If one wanted to secure that position, possessing great strength was also crucial. Otherwise, it would be easy to lose one’s life.

”So, you’re saying this Miss Ji never intended to continue this relationship with you in the first place. If you hadn’t found her, she was planning to build her life abroad?”

After listening to Lu Youheng’s account, Grandma Lu had pieced together the whole story.

That was an angle Lu Youheng hadn’t considered.

”Grandma, you’re overthinking it. Your grandson is so outstanding, what woman wouldn’t like him? She was probably pressured by her own parents. Plus, her past with Wang Zheng is a thorn in Liu Wanru’s side. She’s so weak, she couldn’t even fight back when the Liu Family took their anger out on her, so she went abroad to hide.”

Lu Youheng was absolutely convinced that it was impossible Ji Xiaosong didn’t love him.

After all, her responses to him were equally passionate, showing no hint of rejection.

As a woman herself, Grandma Lu didn’t quite see it that way. But since Ji Xiaosong was already pregnant, she was now one of the Lu Family.

’Whether she likes him or not isn’t important anymore.’

’Her grandson is so wonderful; Ji Xiaosong will eventually come to like him.’

”Alright, then. I’ll have the butler pack a few things. I’ll fly to J Country tomorrow to be with Xiaosong and stay until she gives birth.”

Having resolved the issue that had been weighing on her mind, Grandma Lu felt her heart lighten on the way back.

The Lu Family finally has heirs! Three children!

Pregnant with triplets in one go—Ji Xiaosong is a lucky star for our Lu Family!

As soon as Grandma Lu returned home, she immediately summoned the butler. ”Go, take the Pink Star out of my safe, and also those boxes of Pigeon Blood Rubies. Bring them all for the young madam.”

The butler quickly assented and turned to make the preparations.

Grandma Lu thought for a moment and added, ”Also, transfer those ten ’king’ apartments in the city center to Xiaosong’s name, along with that entire seaside resort. Oh, and prepare a cashier’s check for three billion. My few castles in Europe, too—transfer them all to Xiaosong’s name, so she can live wherever she likes.”

”In addition, compile a list of all my commercial properties in prime locations in major cities worldwide and give one-third of them to Xiaosong. Furthermore, notify the group’s jewelry company to have the head designer, Jewelina, custom-make a collection of one-of-a-kind jewelry for Xiaosong. Use only the finest materials and craftsmanship.”

The butler noted down each item and quickly prepared everything, waiting only for Grandma Lu to take it all with her to J Country to visit Ji Xiaosong the next day.

Meanwhile, Ji Xiaosong, still relaxing carefree in J Country, had no idea that Grandma Lu was about to arrive. She had just moved into the large downtown apartment that Lu Youheng had given her.

A villa was nice to live in, of course, but a large downtown apartment was much more convenient for going out shopping.

To make it easier to care for her, Qin Fang lived in the apartment downstairs.

Besides Qin Fang, the various maids and staff responsible for Ji Xiaosong’s daily needs also lived downstairs.

Ji Xiaosong lived alone in the thousand-plus-square-meter apartment, doing little more than studying and sleeping.

”Miss Ji, you will be starting at F University tomorrow. Considering you plan to become a doctor, you will need to complete some prerequisite pre-med courses. Your study partner, Ms. Wu, will explain the specific details.”

Early in the morning, Qin Fang came to Ji Xiaosong’s residence to brief her on the day’s schedule.

”A study partner?” Ji Xiaosong was puzzled.

”Yes. The fastest you can obtain your medical license is in seven years. To ensure you don’t fall behind in your courses, Assistant Wu has arranged a study partner for you.”

Seven years...

Ji Xiaosong’s mouth twitched.

’Reality is reality. This definitely isn’t some romance drama.’

Even though she possessed Medical Skill now, she still had to abide by the laws and regulations.

’It’s fine. She has plenty of time, anyway. She could take it slow. She’s only 22, with her whole life ahead of her. She can afford to wait.’

After breakfast, when she got into the car, her study partner, Ms. Wu, was already sitting in the front passenger seat.

Only then did Ji Xiaosong learn that Ms. Wu was also a student, but from an ordinary family background.

She had been chosen by Assistant Wu due to her excellent grades and would be in the same classes as Ji Xiaosong for the duration of her ’study partner’ duties.

Of course, all of Ms. Wu’s expenses in J Country were covered by Lu Youheng. She also received a monthly stipend, with bonuses for any extra help she provided.

This...

’Is Lu Youheng worried I won’t be able to graduate normally, so he hired a study partner to help me?’

Ji Xiaosong’s suspicion was confirmed after Ms. Wu finished explaining the scope of her work.

”You don’t need to help me with homework or essays; I can handle those myself. All you need to do is act as my assistant on campus. When you complete your studies and return to our country, if you can contribute your strength to the nation, then your trip to J Country won’t have been in vain.”

Ji Xiaosong rejected her offer to do her homework. The Lu Family was wealthy, and plenty of people were eager to curry favor with them.

But she had no need for such extra things.

Ms. Wu felt a little anxious. The job of an on-campus assistant was something any subordinate could do. Wouldn’t that make her easily replaceable?

”Miss Ji...”

”Say no more. Let’s go.”

Ji Xiaosong knew what she was going to say. But since Ms. Wu was already here, supporting one more person didn’t matter. In any case, Ms. Wu would eventually return to her home country to be a doctor, which could also be considered a contribution to the nation.

Qin Fang started the car and began to drive. They hadn’t gone far when suddenly, a group of burly men wielding long guns swarmed them, taking up positions with all their muzzles aimed at the car Ji Xiaosong was in.
