When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal

Chapter 63: Chapter 62: The Overbearing CEO’s Little Wildcat 3

”Good morning, Miss Liu.”

The personal assistant greeted Liu Wanru calmly, his tone polite but devoid of any flattery.

”Open the door. I want to go in.”

”Miss Liu, I don’t have a key card either. Besides, Mr. Lu is still resting. I can’t open the door without his permission.”

”Then what are you doing here?”

”Waiting for Mr. Lu to wake up.”

Furious, Liu Wanru kicked the personal assistant, but there was nothing more she could do.

”Miss Liu, does this count as a workplace injury?”

The personal assistant winced in pain, but he didn’t forget to take out his phone and pull up his payment QR code.

This wasn’t the first time something like this had happened, and the personal assistant had clearly found a way to deal with it.

Liu Wanru snorted coldly, quickly opened her phone, and transferred some money to the assistant. ”Take this money and get lost!” she sneered. ”A lowlife like you thinks you can argue with me?”

The assistant’s phone chimed. He glanced at the notification: five hundred yuan.

It wasn’t much, but it was something.

He didn’t care what she said. When it came to extra cash like this, every bit counted.

’He wasn’t about to get lost, though. For a mere five hundred yuan? He wasn’t going to listen to her.’

The group waited at the door for nearly an hour before a room service attendant arrived.

When Lu Youheng opened the door, he saw several people standing outside and frowned.

”What are you all doing here?”

Liu Wanru immediately whined flirtatiously, ”Youheng, I was so worried about you, I couldn’t sleep all night.”

She took a step forward, trying to take Lu Youheng’s arm, but he subtly sidestepped her.

The personal assistant, on the other hand, said respectfully, ”Mr. Lu, I am here awaiting your instructions.”

He held up a change of clothes, which he had clearly prepared some time ago.

The room service attendant quickly said, ”Mr. Lu, here is the breakfast you ordered.”

Lu Youheng rubbed his temples. He stepped aside to let the attendant bring the food into the room and said, ”All of you, come in.”

As everyone entered the room, Liu Wanru looked around, and her fists clenched tightly at the sight before her.

Clothes were scattered messily on the floor—a man’s shirt and trousers intertwined with a woman’s torn dress.

The sofa cushions were in disarray, some having even fallen to the floor.

The bed was even more chaotic. The comforter was crumpled in a corner, and the sheets were clearly wrinkled and marked.

The curtains were half-drawn, and sunlight streamed through the gap, catching a wine glass on the floor and refracting into a dazzling glimmer.

The files on the desk were also in disarray, with several pens lying askew.

In the bathroom, a towel was hung haphazardly, and the counter was still wet, with traces of cosmetics.

’Someone had stolen her prize right from under her nose!’

’How on earth did that person get in? She had been standing guard at the door all night!’

Liu Wanru’s expression turned ugly. She wanted to erupt in anger but didn’t dare to when she saw Lu Youheng’s face.

After placing the change of clothes and a new phone down, the personal assistant left. The room service attendant and manager also tactfully took their leave, closing the door behind them.

Now, only Lu Youheng and Liu Wanru remained in the room.

Lu Youheng sat on the sofa, his expression dark as he looked at Liu Wanru. ”How did you know I was here?”

Liu Wanru’s heart tightened. She quickly said, ”I... I just missed you so much, I asked around until I found out.”

”Hah, you missed me? Weren’t you just having a fling in a car with a male intern from your company yesterday? What, do I look like the kind of man who enjoys being cuckolded?”

”Youheng, listen to my excuse—no, listen to my explanation! It’s not like that, I just...”

”I’m going to your house today to call off the engagement. The PR department will release an official announcement later today. The joint projects between our families are over, so there aren’t many ties left. I won’t waste any more of your time.”

”Youheng...”

”Miss Liu, let’s leave each other with some dignity.”

Liu Wanru tried to say more, but Lu Youheng raised a hand to cut her off. His voice was cold and firm. ”Miss Liu, there’s no point in saying more. Please leave.”

He walked to the door, opened it, and made a gesture for her to exit.

Liu Wanru bit her lip, her eyes filled with resentment. But seeing Lu Youheng’s resolute attitude, she knew it was hopeless. She could only turn and leave in bitterness.

After seeing everyone out, Lu Youheng finally called Assistant Wu.

”M Hotel. Get here now.”

While waiting for Assistant Wu, Lu Youheng had already grabbed a pen and paper from the hotel and sketched a portrait of Ji Xiaosong.

No one knew the hotel’s security situation better than him.

’Unless someone had planned it long in advance like Liu Wanru, it would be impossible for them to get into this room.’

Before long, Assistant Wu arrived.

Lu Youheng handed him the sketch of Ji Xiaosong.

”Investigate this woman. She suddenly appeared in my room last night. Also, her DNA is in this room. Have it tested as well, so you don’t find the wrong person. Save plenty of samples for re-verification.”

Assistant Wu glanced around the room, clicking his tongue in his mind. ’Judging by this mess, last night’s battle must have been intense!’

”Mr. Lu, after we find this young lady, how do you wish to proceed?”

He stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the bustling cityscape outside. After a long moment, he spoke. ”Find her first. As for what to do, that depends on her motive. If it was just an accident, there’s no need to dig deeper. But if someone arranged this intentionally...”

His voice trailed off, a hint of frostiness in his tone. ”...then I won’t let them off lightly.”

After a moment of thought, he added, ”But no matter what, not a word of what happened last night can get out.”

”Understood, Mr. Lu. I’ll get on the investigation right away. However, this might be difficult. Finding someone with just a sketch and a DNA sample is like finding a needle in a haystack. But rest assured, I will mobilize all available resources and contacts to find this young lady as soon as possible.”

He paused, then continued, ”As for how to handle the situation after she is found, your considerations are indeed thorough. Determining her motive is crucial so we can respond appropriately. I will assign a dedicated team to monitor the progress closely and report to you the moment we have any news.”

Assistant Wu had wanted to ask how they should handle it if Ji Xiaosong got pregnant. But then he remembered that the Lu Family had always had trouble conceiving heirs, with a single son for dozens of generations. Lu Youheng’s own mother had given birth to him just before menopause. He decided not to ask.

’After all, in his opinion, the chances of Ji Xiaosong getting pregnant were minuscule.’

Lu Youheng narrowed his eyes, his expression cool. He didn’t speak, but simply flicked his fingers, and Assistant Wu excused himself.

Meanwhile, after Ji Xiaosong returned home, she quickly went to her room. Mr. Ji wasn’t up yet, and Ji Minghua had already left for school.

That poor junior high kid had to get up at six in the morning for mandatory early study hall. Even though his grades were poor, the nine years of compulsory education didn’t allow him to do as he pleased.

”Song, with Lu Youheng’s resources, he’ll probably find you soon. What’s your plan?”

”I just checked my phone, and my online credit is still working. First, I’ll buy the soonest plane ticket to a visa-free country and hide out for a while. Then I’ll figure out how to make money and go to other countries. As for everything else, we can talk about it after the baby is born.”

”Right, right! As long as we complete the mission of having the baby, we can do whatever we want in this world.”

Ji Xiaosong quickly gathered all her documents. Thankfully, she had gotten a passport when her school sent her on an overseas exchange for her excellent grades. Otherwise, she wouldn’t even be able to run away now.

Ji Xiaosong booked a ticket for the next available flight and rushed to the airport without a moment’s delay.

Meanwhile, Assistant Wu had already prepared the information he had found to give to Lu Youheng.
