When a Blade of Grass Wants to Become Immortal

Chapter 69: Chapter 68: The Overbearing CEO’s Little Wildcat 9

Ji Xiaosong had just closed the door, ready to head to the bus stop, when a luxury SUV pulled up in front of her.

She froze for a moment, her gaze shifting from the bus stop to the vehicle before her. It was the kind of car you’d only expect to see in an automotive museum. Its lines were sleek and elegant, gleaming under the sun with a cool, extravagant light. The iconic hood ornament was especially striking.

A female driver in a crisp uniform was already standing by the car door. Her posture was impeccable. She wore pristine white gloves, offered a slight bow, and wore a perfectly calibrated professional smile. Her gaze was respectful, yet sharp and competent.

Seeing Ji Xiaosong look her way, she spoke again, her voice gentle yet clear. ”Miss Ji, hello. I’m Qin Fang. Mr. Lu has instructed me to be your driver from now on.”

”Thank you. I have an exam today, and then I’m going to the hospital.”

Ji Xiaosong didn’t stand on ceremony. After Qin Fang opened the door for her, she got right in.

”Miss Ji, there’s a patch of heavy snow on the road ahead, which is why we’re taking the SUV today. If you have any vehicle preferences for future trips, please feel free to let me know.”

Qin Fang took out a business card and handed it to Ji Xiaosong.

She took it and glanced at it. It listed only a name and contact information, nothing more.

”I don’t have any special requirements. As long as it’s spacious and comfortable, it’s fine. You can decide on the rest.”

”Very well, Miss Ji.”

Qin Fang was a woman of few words. Beyond what was necessary, she remained almost completely silent, like an NPC.

While Ji Xiaosong took her exam, Qin Fang waited for her in the car.

”Miss Ji, which hospital are we heading to next?”

”FNR.”

’For a prenatal check-up, of course I’d go to a hospital I’m a shareholder in.’

’As for whether Lu Youheng would find out...’ She thought for a moment and decided not to hide it anymore.

’He could even find my address abroad so easily. His influence must be even greater than I imagined.’

’Since the baby in my belly can’t be hidden, I might as well just let it be known.’

’In any case, whether Lu Youheng wants these three children or not, I will definitely protect them.’

When Ji Xiaosong arrived at FNR Hospital, the director was already waiting for her at the entrance.

He had received a notice that morning: a new shareholder was coming to inspect the hospital.

To ensure there was no mistake in who he was receiving, a secretary had also sent him a detailed file on Ji Xiaosong.

”Miss Ji, I’m Healer Grant, the director of FNR Hospital.”

”Hello, Director. I’m here for a check-up today. I’m also planning to do my internship at this hospital.”

The director’s smile grew even wider. ”Miss Ji,” he said quickly, ”it would be our honor to have you intern at our hospital.”

Director Healer Grant turned slightly, gesturing for her to proceed. He led Ji Xiaosong into the hospital, giving her a detailed introduction to each department they passed and personally arranging her check-up.

When they reached the obstetrics and gynecology department, the director’s hand trembled in shock as he looked at the ultrasound image of three babies.

’No one said the new shareholder was pregnant!’

’Does Mr. Lu know?’

”Miss Ji... you’re pregnant.”

Ji Xiaosong’s eyes flew wide with astonishment. She reflexively clapped a hand over her mouth. Several seconds passed before she seemed to recover, her voice trembling with a hint of irrepressible joy. ”Director, are... are you serious? I’m really pregnant? This is so sudden. I wasn’t prepared for this at all.”

Her hand drifted to her abdomen, as if she were only now truly realizing for the first time that a small life existed within her.

The director cleared his throat, a bit awkwardly, trying to compose himself. ”Miss Ji, judging from the ultrasound, it’s true. We can already detect heartbeats, and development seems to be proceeding well. It’s just... does the father know?”

’Whether he knows or not, I have to tell Lu Youheng!’

’No one knew the Lu Family’s situation better than I do. After all, I’m the one who arranges their annual physicals.’

’Pregnant with three at once... The Lu Family is going to lose their minds, aren’t they?’

’No, I have to confirm right away if these three children belong to the Lu Family.’

”Miss Ji, now that we’ve confirmed the pregnancy, let’s get a blood test to check on your overall health.”

’She’s over two months along. We can definitely run a paternity test with a blood sample.’

’But I can’t tell Ji Xiaosong that directly. What if it’s not his? She would surely try to stop me.’

The director eagerly led Ji Xiaosong to a sofa in the lounge, where the head nurse came to draw her blood personally.

The lab results came back quickly. Because the Lu Family had samples on file at the hospital, it was definitively confirmed that the three babies were Lu Youheng’s.

”Miss Ji, would you prefer to contact Mr. Lu and inform him about the pregnancy yourself, or shall I forward the relevant medical results to him?”

There was no way the director’s earlier actions could have fooled Ji Xiaosong. Watching his trembling hands, she couldn’t help but smile.

”You’d better be the one to tell him. Since my check-up is finished, I’ll head home now. After all, with three babies in my belly, I need to get more rest.”

The director quickly gave a slight bow, his face a mask of solicitousness. ”Miss Ji, please do hurry back and rest. Don’t hesitate to contact the hospital if you need anything.”

With that, he personally escorted Ji Xiaosong to the entrance and gave Qin Fang detailed instructions to look after her. Only when the car was far in the distance did he turn and hurry back to his office.

The moment he was back in his office, without even stopping to wipe the sweat from his brow, the director frantically dialed Lu Youheng’s number. As soon as the call connected, he spoke with the utmost respect. ”Mr. Lu, this is Healer Grant from FNR Hospital. Miss Ji Xiaosong had a check-up today, and there’s something I need to inform you about. She’s pregnant. With triplets. Her condition is stable for now.”

The director gripped the phone tightly, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he waited for a response.

Suddenly, a loud CLATTER sounded from the other end of the line.

”Mr. Lu?”

”You... you said Ji Xiaosong is pregnant?”

”Yes, Mr. Lu. Please forgive me for taking the liberty, but I ran a paternity test for you and the three babies. After multiple confirmations, the children Miss Ji is carrying are indeed yours.”

”I understand. Assemble a medical team. I want to ensure my three children are born safely.”

After hanging up, Lu Youheng’s heart pounded in his chest, refusing to calm down.

’I have children?’

’The Lu Family’s next generation... and I’m starting it with three at once!’

’Of course, I’m just that good!’

The corners of Lu Youheng’s mouth turned up into a grin he couldn’t suppress.

”Assistant Wu, make the arrangements. I’ll be working out of J Country for the foreseeable future.”

Assistant Wu, who was in the middle of organizing documents, froze. ’Is Miss Ji really that capable?’

’In just a few months, after meeting only twice, she’s managed to make Mr. Lu—a man who values his career more than life itself—move his entire office to J Country?’

’Couldn’t he just have Miss Ji come back?’

’Does he really have to be the one to accommodate her?’

”Of course, Mr. Lu. Are there any other arrangements I need to make?”

”Buy a new estate and a large downtown penthouse where Song is. There must be at least three children’s bedrooms. Oh, and put all the properties in Song’s name.”

’Huh...’

’He even changed how he refers to her, from ”Miss Ji” to ”Song.” What on earth happened between them during those three days?’

’Wait a minute...’

’Three children’s bedrooms?’

”Miss Ji is pregnant? With triplets?!”

Assistant Wu cried out in shock. ’The odds of that... aren’t they lower than winning the lottery?’

”Yes. I’ll tell Grandmother immediately. I just hope she can handle the news.”
