Pillar of Yita

Yes, because Dragon Hunters do not possess the ability to fly, Fang Hong prefers to fight within the Sky Sea, at least having one type of flexible construct that can take to the skies, striking while maneuvering—the name Ranger Cavalry comes from this concept.

Of course, he hadn’t ruled out the possibility of a design without arms, directly mounting the Magic Guided Gun on the construct’s arms, using an ammo belt or drum to supply bullets, but the recoil and balance issues were still highly challenging.

Ultimately, Fang Hong chose the form of a Magic Guided Construct.

But it’s not a fully Magic Guided Construct, as a fully Magic Guided Construct needs to consider power supply, overload, spell combinations, and internal heat balance—a series of issues requiring a calculative power even greater than an ordinary construct.

He finally opted for a flight mode similar to the ’Annihilator’—using a Guy Crystal for lift, with other methods providing flight capabilities in all directions.

Obviously, he couldn’t directly use the Annihilator’s design, as the Annihilator’s micro Guy Generator was far too small to support the weight of the large, flexible construct he envisioned for the Ranger Cavalry.

After searching through possible blueprints he could easily access, Fang Hong was pleasantly surprised to find a certain type of construct design that exactly met his needs.

That item is called the ’Carrier.’

The name might sound humble because it is indeed a non-combat flexible construct used in large ports, mainly for transporting goods, belonging to a special type of construct.

This flexible construct also uses a Guy Generator for propulsion, but the Guy Generator used is two sizes larger than the Annihilator’s, capable of bearing nearly half a ton, perfectly fitting his needs.

More crucially, the blueprint for this Guy Generator is readily available, and its patent expired over forty years ago. He didn’t even need to go to a city with an Artisan Association to purchase it—he could simply download it directly from the community.

He planned to use the Carrier’s support chassis directly and then improve its propulsion method. After all, the Carrier relies on two propellers for propulsion—a method more than adequate for moving goods in a port but serves no better than a moving target in combat.

The upper body could use the Shield Bearer’s upper body: though cumbersome and inefficient, at least it offers high defense. He wasn’t counting on this item for close combat, and with the material requirements for a Level 15 construct body, it offers defense close to a Level 20 construct body, significantly reducing manufacturing costs.

Moreover, the Shield Bearer’s internal space was sufficiently large to contain the large Core Crystal required for the Magic Guided Construct, along with numerous Crystal Arrays. Apart from the part used for charging and heat dissipation, the rest was almost entirely the unique armament of this construct—

That was a silver spear.

It could emit a Sunflame Ray from its spearhead. The Sunflame Ray is a Level 6 Fire System spell in Eteliria, causing 125-167 points of fire damage without enhancements, roughly equivalent to the normal level of a Level 25 construct body.

With the crystal array charged, it could fire twice, but recharging and heat dissipation were extremely slow, typically allowing only two volleys, or four shots, in a minute.

However, since its light effects during firing were extremely dazzling, Fang Hong gave it a resounding name: Velocity Sublight Lance.

The combined weight of the Spear Cavalry’s upper body and this lance was 250 kilograms, and with the self-weight of the chassis below, the Guy Generator was more than capable of bearing it. Thus, Fang Hong even added a Great Shield and a Shield Generator to better utilize the magic power capacity of the Magic Guided Construct’s large Core Crystal.

Yet even with these additions, it still wasn’t enough because typically, a Magic Guided Construct possesses more than one type of magic attack method to match its large crystal capacity.

But the Ranger Cavalry has its own ’context,’ needing to simplify the control load of the ’Device of the Stars’ as much as possible, so it wasn’t suitable for multiple attack methods.

Since the needs and restrictions were contradictory, this issue was temporarily unresolved, so Fang Hong had no choice but to let it slide for now—if magic power capacity was wasted, so be it. In any case, this way the Ranger Cavalry could fly longer without needing to return to the Seven Seas Traveler constantly to replenish magic power, at least avoiding being labeled an airport defender.

The final issue was the control law of the ’Device of the Stars.’

Since he couldn’t control it continuously, Fang Hong first needed it to achieve automatic cruising along a certain route in the air—this, however, was simple.

The Ranger Cavalry employed an air curtain propulsion method—in short, somewhat akin to the principle of an octopus or squid moving underwater, achieved by installing several Wind Element nozzles on the back and legs of the construct.

Ordinarily, this device could consume magic power to absorb Wind Elements, then emit them in airflow form—essentially the same thing installed on Miss Maid’s arm armor. Fang Hong himself didn’t know how long he had used this device on his Rocket Fist, being long accustomed to its application and maintenance, with rich experience.

Of course, the device installed on the back of the Ranger Cavalry had to be significantly larger, but the principle was consistent, merely a matter of how much magic power was consumed, and for the Ranger Cavalry at that moment, magic power was not an issue at all.
