Pillar of Yita

He nodded, ”I remember, what’s up?”

”After negotiating with you that day, and those things happening later, Tus somehow transformed into a spy attempting to help the Descendants of Flor gather evidence against you,” the young man explained slowly, ”His contact with the Descendants of Flor naturally became legitimate under that Wanted Order, while conversely, Mr. Sillian was falsely portrayed as your accomplice and insider because of his slander.”

Fang Hong found it somewhat amusing, only a fool would believe such a blatant lie.

”So, is this really what you believe?”

”What we believe doesn’t matter, but the Praetor of Orlenze accepted this statement.”

”So?”

”They arrested Mr. Sillian...”

Fang Hong frowned, ”I guess it was the Hailin Commerce Guild that testified for Mr. Tus?”

”Just as you thought, Captain Ade.”

Fang Hong understood everything now, and couldn’t help but snort through his nose.

The Descendants of Flor must be trying to protect their own people; after all, this matter was convenient for them.

But given Tus’s disposition at the time, it’s entirely possible for him to turn around and bite Sillian.

However, the Hailin Commerce Guild covers the sky with one hand, and the Praetor actually believed them.

This arrogance and lack of discernment made him somewhat disgusted, but he shook his head:

”You want us to help rescue the person? But first, this is your Art of Conflict Guild’s own affair, and secondly, I don’t have that ability.”

What a joke, although this matter has some connection with them, Sillian offended that scumbag for his Guild’s interests.

The Art of Conflict Guild doesn’t think of a way to clear their own people’s name, but instead hopes for them to step in?

To venture into the dragon’s den again for an Earth Origin Crystal worth millions of Lycel?

Fang Hong even suspected that the other party was using this lame excuse to lure them back.

He knew well the difference between an Earth Origin Crystal and the Seven Seas Traveler.

But the other side paused for a moment before saying somewhat awkwardly, ”...Sorry, we know this is unreasonable, in fact, we never thought of such a far-fetched plan.”

The conversation stalled then, ”We wanted to ask Captain Ade for help with another matter...”

Fang Hong was stunned.

The other side continued, ”You’re right, we know this should be a Guild matter, Mr. Sillian has sacrificed so much for the Guild, we ought to fight for him. But Tus is insisting on Sillian’s inclination to trade with you, the Chairman is unwilling to offend the Native leaders for this, let alone the Alliance and Descendants of Flor, and most importantly, to him, Mr. Sillian is just a Native.”

”Without the Guild’s support, we really can’t protect Mr. Sillian now, but he has a daughter, we escorted Miss Beiji out of the city, but she is also under a Wanted Order... We really can’t think of a place where she can settle...”

”You?”

The voice from the other side was wry: ”Alright, Captain Ade, in truth, we don’t represent the Art of Conflict Guild. The Earth Origin Crystal is what we stole from the Guild, this was a decision made by a few of us who have a good personal relationship with Mr. Sillian, together to send Miss Beiji out, and Mr. Sillian just happened to have your contact number, so we found him and through her found you...”

Fang Hong then understood the whole story.

Although it’s commonplace to see friendships between Natives and Invokers in this era.

There are many Natives on the Seven Seas Traveler; Big Cat People, Miss Atira, Bakins, Pasha, Xiesta all get along well with everyone.

Not to mention his relationship with Hilveld.

But when conflicts with personal interest arise, being willing to step forward for a friend is still a rare quality.

Not to mention between Natives and Invokers, even between Invokers themselves, it’s not guaranteed that everyone would do so.

If what they’re saying is true, Fang Hong rather admired these people’s choices.

But this doesn’t mean much.

He thought for a moment before asking:

”So, you want us to provide Shelter for this young lady?”

”Yes.”

Fang Hong couldn’t help but feel a bit strange, he never thought this matter would develop into something like this. They’ve only had one contact with the other party, their acquaintance with Mr. Sillian was even just a fleeting encounter.

But thinking carefully, they indeed seem to be the best choice for the other party.

If there is anyone in Nogness right now who can take this young lady to a safe place, they are indeed the most reliable choice.

After all, they themselves are also under a Wanted Order, cannot compromise with the Colin Royal Family, nor with the Descendants of Flor.

But the problem is—

The other party can trust them, but how can they be sure this isn’t a trap?

Although Earth Origin Crystal as payment does sound quite tempting.

But at that moment, Hilveld suddenly spoke: ”How much Earth Origin Crystal did you steal, all of it?”

Her sudden question surprised everyone.

Especially Fang Hong, in his impression, a Lady Noble is not someone who easily trusts others.

Nor would she be quick to take risks—

The other side hesitated then replied:

”Apologies, no, about only a third of what was initially agreed for trade with you.”
