Pillar of Yita

”It’s like you can just switch whenever you want.”

”Shut up, I’m just saying, if Combat Artisans were really that awesome, the three major leagues wouldn’t need any other professions.”

Lair shook his head, having no particular thought about these exaggerated descriptions for the moment, but he was sure that the other party had indeed never used such constructs before.

He keenly sensed that it should be the other’s first time bringing out this new construct in public, so he uploaded these descriptions to the Alliance, hoping to get some answers.

Besides Fang Hong, there were other remarkable individuals among the targets on the wanted list.

According to the other’s description, there was a Lion Paladin, a Big Catfolk clad in heavy armor with an unknown model Magic Guided Reactor, seemingly self-modified, also wielding a two-handed sword, capable of going toe-to-toe with their Chairman.

Of course, ”toe-to-toe” is a euphemism; the truth is, in about two or three rounds, the latter, also a Great Sword Warrior, was sent back to the Resurrection Point.

Unlike the Grand Guilds, in smaller guilds like these, their Chairman is usually the highest level and strongest person; otherwise, they cannot command respect. It’s said that the Chairman of Oxin Silver Flame is at level 29, and with both sides using the same weapon, to finish the combat within ten rounds speaks volumes of the opponent’s combat capabilities.

Either they have a higher level, or they have combat experience so rich that it exceeds expectations.

Lair asked questions while checking previous news, finally identifying the other party based on the source of the wanted list images:

”A Paladin from Marlan, Wilderness People from Rotao, first appeared in Elpaxin.”

At the time, the two people who appeared on camera with this Big Cat were also in this battle, but according to Oxin Silver Flame’s people, the Papalarian’s performance was quite unremarkable.

As for the Elementalist, they had some skills.

”Luo Yu,” Lair quickly identified the other party, ”a former member of the Oak Knights Youth Training Group.”

He also found out about Gita, who was also a former member of the Oak Knights Youth Training Group.

The presence of two members from the Youth Training Group surprised him a bit, as he was very familiar with how large guilds operate; members from such training groups are generally considered core personnel and aren’t easily allowed to leave the guild.

However, he knew that before disbanding, there were some transactions between the Oak Knights and Fang Hong, which, though not publicly known, seemed related to these two people.

The data did not specify the profession of that little girl, but he knew there was a Natural Historian in the team, so it was presumably her.

In this battle, this Miss Natural Historian did not participate in combat, which caused him to frown a bit, as it appeared that the people on Oxin Silver Flame were unaware that the other party had not gone all out.

According to the people on Oxin Silver Flame, there was also a ’dual master of magic and martial arts’ Magic Guided Conductor, along with a Miss Maid with huge arm armor whose combat ability was formidable.

There was also reportedly an exceptional Nightingale on their side, constantly suppressing the Gunslinger Team and even managed to assassinate an Elementalist, yet never showing themselves once from beginning to end.

Besides that flamboyant Magic Guided Conductor on the wanted list, Lair couldn’t find anything on the remaining two persons from it.

Finally, all the people on the Oxin Silver Flame, including the usually cautious Captain Elan Dravir, unanimously felt that the other side’s ship was peculiar.

”Their ship was exceptionally nimble; I’ve lived my life on the Sky Sea for decades and have never seen anyone maneuver a ship like that.”

”When combat became inevitable, I tried having the sailors fire the cannons, but they always managed to inexplicably maneuver into our blind spots. I’ve never encountered anything like this, especially when the two ships were so close together...”

This was a direct quote from Elan Dravir at the time.

Of course, Lair wasn’t fully convinced.

He found out that the Seven Seas Traveler unexpectedly damaged Oxin Silver Flame’s foremast and at least four sails in the first attack. So from the start, Oxin Silver Flame was engaging in close combat with compromised mobility, and most likely, this Captain was just trying to shift the blame.

But the agility of the Seven Seas Traveler did make an impression on him. He hadn’t forgotten that they had once encountered them at Orlenze Port, and although they didn’t know they were the wanted targets then, their seamanship was indeed exceptional.

”They’ve got something.”

This was Lair’s final conclusion.

”They say nice things, but the truth is, the other side once infiltrated Oxin Silver Flame below decks and destroyed their Resurrection Point,” someone returned from another investigation with their conclusion, ”their Chairman wasn’t on board, likely because of this reason.”

”Are the people on Oxin Silver Flame that weak? I heard they brought along seventy or eighty people, didn’t they?” Someone couldn’t help but ask.

”Half of them were sailors; having thirty people with combat ability would already be good,” Lair replied, returning to his own ship and looking distantly at the wretched condition of Oxin Silver Flame, and asked, ”So, are we the first ones to arrive?”

Others shook their heads: ”The first to arrive were Long Wharf and Grey Whale; they’ve already pursued in the direction of the Great Rift Valley.”
