Pillar of Yita

Luo Yu looked at the flag.

...

”Luo Yu, jump ship.”

”Luo Yu?”

”Luo Yu, are you there?”

”Luo Yu!?”

Fang Hong suddenly raised his head, looking at the airship burning with fire, slowly descending towards Quistack—due to the distance, it gave him this illusion.

The sound of the wind surrounded his ears, the azure wind element wings behind him had already spread to the maximum, he looked not far ahead, and respectively there were Luo Hao, Xiangzi, and several guards of the King of Sand, Ye Hua was in another direction, the tail feathers brought by the wind element were like a long azure trail.

A foreboding crossed his mind. ”Xiangzi, Luo Hao, help me call Luo Yu, it seems my communication system has an issue—”

”Luo Yu, the Captain is calling you.”

”Luo Yu, are you there?”

”Luo Yu?”

Fang Hong tightly clutched the Communication Crystal, but the squad channel in his ear only returned quiet static, along with the background noise above which Xiangzi and Luo Hao’s deep calls echoed. Listening to this sound, he suddenly realized his communication system wasn’t broken.

But all calls went unanswered, like stones sinking into the sea.

Fang Hong stared blankly in that direction, finally hearing that calm, familiar voice:

”I’m here.”

After a while, that voice clumsily found an excuse:

”There was a small problem.”

”See you all later.”

The small boat engulfed in fiery flames looked like a meteor falling towards the horizon, dazzling and bright.

Fang Hong gritted his teeth, silently watching this scene.

In that moment, he suddenly understood a choice made by a youth, which was also the choice of a man.

...

The sand thieves on the city wall seemed as if struck by a time magic.

In that peculiar scene, they crossed the city head, like a tide of black water rushing forward, but in an instant, all stopped simultaneously. Each of them turned around in unison, craning their necks, watching that sky spectacle like stone statues, only stiffly rotating their necks.

Their gaze followed the roaring flames descending from midair, the airship had completely turned into a fireball, like a meteor falling from the sky, with a long tail of flame, swooping above the city head, over each of their heads.

The scene unfolded slowly, as if watching the fireball gradually pass through the sky, slowly glide above their heads, and slowly fall toward one side of the battlefield, toward the towering spire.

When the flaming airship crossed past them, each person seemed to feel an illusion, as if sensing a gaze from the ship watching each of them.

And in that dialogue, there actually was a silent listener.

Tianlan was long flooded with tears, hands trembling, nearly unable to hold the Great Sword. She wanted to cry aloud, because in the end, she hadn’t changed anything.

But someone helped her change it—

It was a snow of Dulun, dazzlingly white.

It was a firework blooming in the night sky, like flickering flames, etched into the heart of both the young man and woman.

It was a bouquet of holly branches, with the most beautiful flower blooming in that winter night.

It was an ancient covenant, with promises from the youth.

Tianlan held back blurry tears, watching that flame stretch towards the horizon.

Then time resumed its flow, the ancient magic seemingly lost its effect, the meteor streaked across the night sky, falling toward the center of the battlefield.

It was a most dazzling light.

The bright light also reflected on Mahazar’s face, turning it snow-white.

In the massive sound wave, the entire world seemed to quiet down. The old sand thief, blind in one eye, gestured with his hands, seemingly wanting to say something, but only his mouth opening and closing was visible without any sound emitting. Mahazar pushed this person aside, walking towards his sand lizard.

But the shockwave assaulted, the sandstorm it stirred up like a solid wall swept across. This King of the Sand Thief raised his hands in front of him, bowed his head, and a sharp whistle echoed, as if the world regained its sound.

He heard a few sharp sounds, and the screams of the sand thieves, followed by the noise of heavy objects landing and bodies colliding with something.

Sand dust obscured everything, making the world dim down.

...

Lady Noble turned around, looking at the bright Flash in the darkness.

Her expression appeared somewhat calm, her eyes like the shallow sea, also immersed in a dark color, but beneath that depth, still reflecting a bit of Starlight.

The violent explosion sound, after a moment, only distantly transmitted over, the ground quivered slightly, causing dust and debris to shatter and fall from the aged palace.

Hilveld looked at the dark red Crystal in her hand, originally belonging to Ai Xiaoxiao, quietly listening to the dialogue from it, then she folded it into her palm, raised her head, and walked forward.

Deep in the palace there, a girl was lifting her skirt and hurriedly ran out. She looked pale at the Lady Noble before her, incredulously asking: ”Hilveld, why are you still staying in Quistack, it’s not safe here at all now.”

”And you even dared to come to this place, don’t you know, they’re looking for you...?”
