Pillar of Yita

Even unable to win everyone the time needed to turn the tide.

Miss Hilveld, and Brother Ade’s cousin, they are just logistic personnel in the Seven Seas Travel Group, but as for herself, she is a genuine combatant. However, when the time came, she couldn’t do anything.

Instead, it was herself who had always been smug about the so-called ’steward’ title, which now seemed somewhat ridiculous. She knew well in her heart that even without herself, Miss Atira could still manage everything clearly and orderly.

Everyone was just accommodating her.

Tianlan stared blankly at the sand thieves coming through the tower and surging in her direction along the city wall.

Yet at this moment, she felt no fear, nor the urge to turn and run. Instead, she quietly bit her lip and picked up the knights’ sword from the ground.

The esteemed Mr. Knight and the Grand Princess both sacrificed themselves here to protect her.

And now it’s her turn to protect others. Even if she’s weak, how could she be worthy of being a member of the Seven Seas Travel Group if she doesn’t even have the courage to try?

Should she choose to escape every time she faces such a situation in the future?

What will she do when there’s no more escaping?

Tianlan mulled over all of this, gripping the longsword in her hand.

But what she didn’t notice was the brief glimmer of light above the clouds behind her.

...

The airship had not yet fully entered the airspace of Quistack, but what was happening inside the city was already evident to everyone.

Fang Hong looked emotionlessly at everything transpiring below, and the sand thieves crossing the tower in the distance, at this height, they were just countless black dots.

”The inner city has fallen.”

Luo Hao spoke: ”But fortunately, we arrived just in time, they have only just broken through the defense line.”

Fang Hong nodded. The sand thieves had pierced through the defense, but their attack still hadn’t spread out. Their original plan was still viable. Yet, from this height looking down, it was difficult to see any color belonging to the princess’s side on the battlefield. The Royal Guards were retreating, and the Marlan Knight’s banner was only occasionally visible, but it was soon swallowed by the dark sea.

He pressed his lips together. There was no trace of either the Princess or the other members of the Seven Seas Travel Group. He felt a creeping worry; even though, while Starlight remained, they could choose to resurrect in the Holy Sanctuary. But what if the Holy Sanctuary also fell into the hands of the sand thieves?

And in such combat, no one could guarantee that their few opportunities for revival could ensure their safety.

Their time was running out.

His gaze was drawn to the tower.

”The sand thieves must cross this tower.” Luo Hao spoke again: ”Attacking this place is the ideal location, but there’s a new problem now—the sand thieves are too many. Even if our plan succeeds...probably we can’t stop them entirely, of course, if the inner city hadn’t fallen, things would be different, but now...”

Fang Hong understood his meaning, had the inner city not fallen, successfully dropping dozens of kilograms of explosive crystal in the direction of the main sand thief assault would surely shatter their offensive. But to hope to kill all the sand thieves using these explosive crystals was certainly unrealistic, especially now that the inner city had fallen, even if the sand thieves were momentarily held back, they wouldn’t abandon such easy prey.

There was only one possibility left, one that could still turn the tide.

That is, if they happened to kill the King of the Sand Thief, Mahazar.

But in this vast battlefield below, who knew where the Sand Thief King was?

”We can only make this choice,” Fang Hong looked at the tower and replied, ”Regardless of whether Mahazar is there or not, we can only target this place.”

”Then let us hope the deities worshiped by the Istania, Androma and Lady Marlan, bestow us with good fortune.” Luo Hao shrugged.

”What if luck isn’t on our side?” Xiangzi, standing behind them, asked.

”Then we will fight to the death.”

Fang Hong responded quietly.

He finally turned back, looking at the Elementalist within the group beside the mast.

”Any problem?”

Luo Yu appeared contemplative, nodded lightly before answering, ”Leave it to me, but I’ll be slightly delayed in disembarking, the prior combat will be up to you all.”

Fang Hong nodded slightly and glanced at Ye Hua standing beside him.

Ye Hua removed the longbow, patted the glider backpack on his back, and with a slight smile signaled he was ready.

Fang Hong didn’t waste more words, he walked to one side of the ship’s rail, gripping it with one hand. Everyone followed, placing their hands on the rail. Fang Hong looked left and right before speaking softly: ”Everyone, I’ll count to three and we’ll prepare to leave the ship.”

”Three...”

”Two...”

”One.”

At this point, Luo Yu lightly pressed the crystal in his hand downward.

The bow of the small boat pointed downward in an instant. At that moment, the silver sail spread, the floating ship seemingly leaped from the clouds, the rapidly operating Magic Guided Reactor, releasing all stored Wind Element Ether outward—

In the night sky, the surging Ether Magic Power was like a golden wing pulled from within the clouds. A long golden streaks, slowly extended under the sky, a long golden line, as some sparkling silver light scattered out from under this golden line.

Yet, the people fighting on the ground seemed oblivious to this scene.
