Pillar of Yita

”Because this means that the Free Summoner has an official status, and is not merely something kept in the shadows.”

Ye Hua turned his head to look at him: ”Do you think this comes across as a fantasy?”

Fang Hong shook his head.

It’s quite simple, because after all, there is more than one voice in this world.

Governments of various countries, on the one hand, need the Super Competitive Alliance to maintain their interests after Stargate Port, especially as small and weak countries lack the capability for independent Stargate development. The birth of the Super Competitive Alliance and the signing of the ”Stargate Declaration” effectively granted them a free ticket.

But on the other hand, to maintain their independence, these small countries have to guard against the Super Competitive Alliance, because the essence of any alliance surely represents the voice of the rule makers.

This attitude of cooperation and caution is the true meaning of the Free Summoner’s existence.

Free Summoners naturally oppose the Super Competitive Alliance, which serves as the best leverage point for small and weak countries to counter the Super Competitive Alliance.

And China, due to its unique nature, shares almost the same stance with the vast number of Third World countries when facing the Anglo-American alliance and its capital groups behind.

Fang Hong, being aware of the military’s stance, immediately understood the reasoning the moment he heard this.

And Ye Hua was surprised to see him understand so quickly, and couldn’t help but compliment: ”Ade, you’re smarter than I imagined.”

But Fang Hong felt a bit annoyed hearing this.

”What do you mean, smarter than imagined?”

Do I look so foolish?

However, this Ranger King apparently did not notice his slip of the tongue and continued: ”...Ade, but what I told you before was all about ’within the rules.’ Once you step outside that ’rule’ and they perceive a real threat, no matter if it’s the Super Competitive Alliance itself or the forces behind it, they will spare nothing to deal with you...”

A faint glimmer appeared in Fang Hong’s eyes.

Since cooperating with the military, the status of the Super Competitive Alliance in his eyes had plummeted. In his view, the reason the Alliance hasn’t been completely brought down yet is simply due to not finding a weakness for now.

And hearing this, he suddenly thought of those ’Alchemists’—their bizarre attire and mysterious appearance, could it be related to what’s behind the Super Competitive Alliance?

He turned to the other party and asked:

”Great God Ye Hua, do you know anything?”

But Ye Hua just shook his head. ”Ade, thirteen years ago in the Battle of Bain, and the origins of the Seventh Prohibition, you should know.”

Fang Hong blinked, thinking how it came back to the Battle of Bain again, a name he had heard countless times before. From Captain Kroid onwards, it was like every affair related to the Summoners had a mysterious source pointing back to this war thirteen years ago.

Yet what really happened back then, he still couldn’t fully grasp.

He knew about the great war among Natives, but didn’t really understand the role played by Summoners within it.

Ye Hua observed his expression and roughly figured out what he was thinking:

”Back then a great war, with Dragon Worshippers stirring trouble, even affecting our world at times, was when people first became aware of how deeply the Dark Followers penetrated into our world. Protests resounded, even leading to bloody conflict, forcing all countries to modify the ’Stargate Declaration’ clauses, thus adding the Seventh Prohibition—”

”The tourists you see today stem from this; essentially, it’s to further increase control over the Stargate.”

He silently looked at Fang Hong: ”You were probably young then, might not know the great turmoil it caused, what you later learned from the community was just the tip of the iceberg. To say the Battle of Bain completely changed the current situation inside and outside the Stargate, and reshaped the relationship between Summoners and Natives.”

”And what comes with the severity of that time is today, what’s behind it? The ultimate investigation into the ’Summoners’ that triggered it all, attacking the Imperial Envoy Group, still remains a mystery. All responsible parties disappeared without a trace, and only domestically, did the Alliance spark a cleansing from top to bottom, akin to what you stirred up in Fanric not long ago...”

”But similarly, it aroused quite a bit of criticism then. On a broader level, not only did the Super Competitive Alliance suffer no harm, but it also blamed Free Summoners, precisely from that era that the Pioneers’ concept of freedom took a heavy hit, leading to today’s structure.”

”In the past ten years, the investigation into the Battle of Bain, especially domestically, never ceased, but never had any outcome.” Ye Hua gazed at him and asked, ”Do you know why?”

Fang Hong lightly shook his head.

Ye Hua pondered for a moment more before saying: ”Because there’s always a force suppressing the affair from behind, I don’t know if the military has been involved in the investigation, maybe they have, but it’s insignificant, due to immense external resistance...”

”Just like three...”

But upon reaching this point, he suddenly realized, keenly closed his mouth, looked at Fang Hong. ”In short, Ade, what’s most important now is to increase your own strength. You and Loofah will definitely become the banner of Free Summoners in the future, just as we are in this era—”

”But not now, do you understand what I mean—”

Fang Hong silently listened.

But the things Ye Hua didn’t know, he always knew the military had been involved in investigating the matters about the Super Competitive Alliance, even collaborating with him. It was only now he understood, that since thirteen years ago, the military had been focused on everything behind.

Yet no progress in ten years of investigation, he seemed to faintly see those massive shadows described by the other party. But could a Super Competitive Alliance really possess such power?

It might be an international organization, but ultimately is founded merely within the Stargate.
