Pillar of Yita

Fang Hong was taken aback but quickly nodded, jumped off the boat, clapped his hands, ”Great God Ye Hua, is there something you need?”

Ye Hua spoke straightforwardly:

”I heard you plan to return to Quistack?”

Fang Hong nodded.

”To go and rescue your people?”

”And also...”

”Also to fulfill the request of the King of Sand, Barbaltan, by intervening in this war between the Istania People and the Sand Thieves?”

Fang Hong was slightly startled, only then did he detect the underlying opposition in the other’s words.

He looked somewhat puzzled at the Ranger King. Ye Hua gazed at him, an unusually serious look on his face.

”Step back, Ade,” Ye Hua slowly spoke, ”Withdraw while you still can.”

”Wait,” Fang Hong was shocked. Why withdraw? Not to mention that nearly half the Seven Seas Brigade remained in Quistack, Hilveld was also in that place, and more importantly, as an Invoker, how could they just watch as the Sand Thieves attack a city on the brink of collapse without offering assistance?

Isn’t that exactly what the ”Stargate Declaration” advocates?

He simply couldn’t believe that these words could come from the Ranger King standing before him; in his memory, the other was renowned for his unruly and rebellious spirit, as was demonstrated at the recent Southern Region conference. That resounding ’dissolution order’ is still widely talked about.

”So you intend to go to Quistack, to save this city from the hands of the Sand Thieves... Ade, do you think by doing so, you have become a hero?”

Ye Hua looked at him and suddenly asked staidly.

”Not really...”

Fang Hong blushed a little, saying with a guilty conscience.

But who doesn’t have a little dream, if not for the pursuit of becoming a hero and knight, who would come here?

Moreover...

Ye Hua finally smiled, ”I understand, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about.”

”But more importantly, it’s because of responsibility... because of various reasons, you made promises and commitments that must be fulfilled. And when these commitments become responsibilities, as you take them on one by one, you naturally become what people call a hero...”

He couldn’t help but think of himself.

When he took over the Southern Region Alliance from the former chairman, who would have thought it would come to this?

Fang Hong asked blankly, ”Is this a bad thing?”

”It’s not bad at all,” Ye Hua shook his head, ”It’s just that some responsibilities you can bear now, but some responsibilities will only crush you.”

The Ranger King paused for a moment, then said, ”Ade, if you need to save people, I can help you do that. It’s best for you not to show your face in Quistack, because it will only bring you endless trouble—”

Fang Hong was utterly confused: ”Why?”

This question left Ye Hua in silence for quite a while before he spoke, ”Ade, in fact, I don’t recommend you get involved in these two sides’ conflicts so soon—”

”Conflicts between the two sides?”

Is it the Sand Thieves and the Istania Kingdom? Or the Blind Followers and the King of Sand?

Or the Descendants of Flor and the Rainbow Alliance?

But he quickly realized the other’s identity: ”Great God Ye Hua, are you referring to the conflict between the Super Competitive Alliance and the Free Summoners?”

Ye Hua nodded gently.

Fang Hong couldn’t help but be stunned, not quite understanding what relation the current war between the Istania People and the Sand Thieves had with the Super Competitive Alliance? However, he sensed the other had a point, thought about it, and bitterly smiled: ”Great God Ye Hua, maybe you said it a bit late. They’ve already set their sights on me, and moreover in Tansnier, I rejected their proposal—”

”’They’?” Ye Hua questioned back: ”Do you mean BBK?”

Fang Hong also nodded.

Ye Hua mused for a moment, then said: ”I know you have some minor disagreements with the Super Competitive Alliance, even in Fanric, you messed up their plan, making BBK’s investment of tens of millions go down the drain. But these actually aren’t the issue, they might even still offer you an olive branch—and even if you refused their goodwill, they would only use some minor and annoying tactics within the rules, but that’s not what I’m trying to convey...”

Fang Hong didn’t expect the other to say that, and couldn’t help but fall silent.

Ye Hua continued:

”... Ade, the conflict between the Free Summoners and the Super Competitive Alliance has been around for a long time. But for both sides, it’s just a battle allowed within the rules, even the ’war’ between the Southern Region Alliance and the Super Competitive Alliance is no more than this. The Super Competitive Alliance itself understands this, because within these rules, they actually hold the advantage, thus no matter how intensely we fight, it aims to bring both parties back to the negotiation table.”

”The Super Competitive Alliance understands that it cannot eliminate the Free Summoners in a short time. Of course, we also know that there is no real possibility of overthrowing the ’rule’ of the Super Competitive Alliance, so all we do is actually only to secure the rights of survival for the Free Summoners with the least compromise...”

He paused for a moment.

”I actually know that you, along with the Tabopolis Knights Order, are making efforts secretly, and your approach is somewhat similar to Loofah and her group. However, if one just becomes a shadow, striving to survive in the crevices, it will only make the living space for the Free Summoners smaller and smaller. Of course, it’s one way, but a formal Free Summoners’ Alliance also has its necessity, because this implies the recognition of the ’Stargate Declaration’ on it—”
