Pillar of Yita

”So agile, just like Mr. Kaka’s Clockwork Fairy.”

”No, there’s something different...”

Xia Sheng stared blankly at that thing.

That thing, it actually started to fly around her, like a mischievous little elf, looking her up and down.

”Get away!” Xia Sheng yelled angrily, ”Who on earth are you!”

Right.

A flicker of doubt suddenly crossed her mind. Where was Mr. Kaka?

But above the valley, Kaka was rubbing his tousled hair in frustration and almost at the same moment, he asked the same question:

”What kind of joke is this?”

In the vision of his Clockwork Fairy.

It was as if looking in a mirror, in the camera lens of every Clockwork Fairy, there was another Clockwork Fairy that looked just like itself, hovering in front of it.

He tried to make his Clockwork Fairy perform an evasion maneuver, but it was no use. No matter how he controlled it, the other always maintained the same distance from him.

It always blocked his vision.

Angered, Kaka couldn’t help but curse under his breath. He was about to try something else when at that moment, a voice full of panic came through the channel:

”Mr. Kaka, we are under attack by the Clockwork Fairies.”

”These things are so strange...”

”They... they seem to be alive.”

”Wait, they don’t look like Flexible Constructs at all, Mr. Kaka. We must be under attack by Construct monsters that have refreshed their actual bodies.”

”Mr. Kaka, where are you? Can you direct us to where the enemy is? We are in a passive position!”

Kaka was drenched in cold sweat.

He thought to himself, to heck with his Construct monsters, are there wild Clockwork Fairies now? And what about wild Combat Artisans?

”Kaka!” At that moment, Six Shadows called out to him from below. She looked anxious, obviously having heard the situation through the channel, ”Something has happened below, what do we do, should we join the combat?”

Kaka was about to respond, but it was at that moment that he suddenly felt the scenery in his vision shift slightly.

”Eh?” He was slightly startled, then he saw the Clockwork Fairies that were blocking his view begin to retreat one by one, flying off into the distance.

He was curious as to why they would do such a thing, but in the next moment, he froze.

In his vision, countless Clockwork Fairies were rising into the air like dazzling stars.

Those metal spheres bathed in moonlight, with their wings vibrating, one by one maintained the same direction of flight, moving forward slowly.

They kept a consistent distance from each other, a consistent altitude, and then they formed a huge matrix in front of Kaka.

A matrix composed of Clockwork Fairies.

Fourteen Clockwork Fairies, almost completely still, in the mid-air.

”This is...” Kaka’s face turned pale, ”the Fairy Wall...”

”Kaka!” Six Shadows still called his name from below.

But he suddenly lifted his Wind Goggles, leaving the exterior Clockwork Fairies behind and jumped down from the rock, loudly declaring, ”Let’s go, leave this place, a big shot has arrived.”

”A big shot?”

”At least someone from the Elite, I’m not sure who it is. But if they find us here, we’re done for.”

”Kaka, what exactly are you talking about?” Six Shadows instinctively thought her partner was slacking again, but was this really the time to slack off?

”Listen to me, it could be someone from the Elite headquarters. They must have noticed us, they just don’t want to make a scene. They are sending us a warning first.”

Kaka turned around, looking solemnly at the platinum-haired elf girl, ”Do you know what I saw, Six Shadows?”

”What?”

”The Fairy Wall—”

Kaka’s voice suddenly disappeared from the communication channel.

Xia Sheng’s heart also sank.

”Captain?” she asked softly into the channel.

However, the only response was a silent stillness.

Clearly, even their Captain didn’t understand what had actually happened.

Xia Sheng lifted her head, she had been hiding behind this rock ever since the Clockwork Fairies took to the sky, but this did nothing to change their predicament.

At most, it merely reset both parties back to the starting line.

Of course, they seemed to still have the advantage in numbers.

But what about when those Clockwork Fairies came back?

Just the thought of that sent chills down Xia Sheng’s limbs. Although the mission was far from a failure, she couldn’t shake off an ominous feeling that crept into her heart.

But these sudden Clockwork Fairies—just who the hell were they?

Of course, Xia Sheng might never guess that the enigmatic presence she theorized about was at that moment, sweating bullets while adjusting his Control Gauntlets.

”Brother Ade, what are you doing?” Tianlan asked curiously next to him.

”No, nothing,” Fang Hong stammered.

”Brother Ade, how is the combat going over there?”

”It’s alright, I’m going all out, so naturally, the situation is very good,” Fang Hong answered rather perfunctorily.

He certainly wasn’t going to admit that on a whim, he wanted to show those Jiefulite Red Cloak Team guys what ’All-Domain Vision’ really meant and got a little carried away demonstrating the legendary Fairy Wall Technique in front of them.

The Fairy Wall is a secret technique that is a must-have for Elite Combat Artisans, and is considered one of the top skills within All-Domain Vision.

Of course, the trick he’d exhibited wasn’t the real Fairy Wall but an evolution he’d developed from the Multi-Polarity Sphere’s manipulation skills. It was a spur-of-the-moment inspiration, but he nearly broke his Control Gauntlets because of it.

Thankfully, he managed to stop in time.

And thankfully, it seemed like he’d managed to scare off the craftsman from the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team.

The other party had even run away without their Clockwork Fairy, Fang Hong shook his head, thinking how wasteful these people were. But after all, they came from the Grand Guild, unlike him, who cherished every single Clockwork Fairy.

At least, that’s what he thought of himself.

While he was feeling quite pleased with himself, the Communication Crystal suddenly lit up, and a somewhat unfamiliar voice came through:

”Mr. Ade, ah—you’re really nearby, are those Clockwork Fairies under your control?”

Fang Hong was momentarily stunned, then quickly remembered that it was the voice of the elder twin sister. He was impressed with her because the Legendary Short Sword he had ’finally’ crafted had ended up in her hands.

”Miss Elisa, you’re here too?” he asked curiously.

”Mr. Ade, is that really you?” Elisa’s tone was filled with surprise, ”You, you are still such an incredible Combat Artisan?”

But her tone quickly became urgent, ”Mr. Ade, please call back your Clockwork Fairies, we’re about to be overwhelmed down here!”

”Ah!” Fang Hong smacked his forehead, suddenly remembering that in his show-off moment, he’d forgotten this crucial thing. He hurriedly said, ”Hang in there, I’m coming right now!”

He started manipulating the Clockwork Fairies without a change in expression.

Tianlan blinked innocently next to him, asking, ”Brother Ade, didn’t you say the situation was very good?”

”Well...” Fang Hong’s face reddened, ”You heard wrong, it’s just a little good, not very good.”

...

Elisa put away the Communication Crystal.

She checked her sister’s condition; thankfully, she had only suffered some superficial injuries from the blast of the explosive.

Alice’s bright eyes looked up at her sister and quietly answered, ”I can still move on my own, sister.”

Elisa nodded.

She looked up at the sky, gently drawing the Dawn Short Sword in her hand, then turned back and asked, ”Scared, Alice?”

Alice shook her head gently.

”Sister, do you think Mr. Ade will really come to save us?”

Elisa looked at the Short Sword in her hand and nodded affirmatively, ”He’s over there, Alice.”
