Pillar of Yita

Afterward, before leaving Fenris Isle to tour the world, it achieved fame and success and only then returned here, but it never went back to its own Underground City. Instead, it chose to settle in Cloud Harbor after that.

However, after becoming the honorary vice-chairman of the Colin Ishurian Artisan Association, it took its Underground City back out and set up many levels and challenges within. Twice a year, during the spring and autumn, it would open the Underground City to allow Adventurers to enter and take on the difficult challenges that it had set.

The outstanding among them would gain its favor and rewards. It was said that those who ranked at the top could even dine with the legendary Giant Dragon—although it hadn’t shown itself to mortals for many years.

Seeing that he had realized what was going on, Miss Hilveld nodded, ”The local Guilds here in Fenris now treat these biannual challenges as opportunities to train their Trainees. Spring and autumn tours originated from this. And I’ve heard that no one truly dies in the Green Dragon’s challenge.”

Fang Hong nodded lightly. At the mention of this, he couldn’t help feeling a bit yearning, ”That’s Milaila’s Demi-God Artifact, a gift of grace from Meijeli, a rare and powerful Magic Guided Conductor—famous for bridging the gap between ordinary Magic Power and divine Magic Power—it can harness Milaila’s Divine Ether, which is why it’s called a Demi-God Artifact.”

”Actually, its function isn’t to resurrect the dead but to create an absolute protective shield at the moment before one suffers a fatal blow, transporting them to safety. Indeed, because of this Demi-God Artifact, Cloud Harbor came to be known as the Harbor of Protection.”

”Mr. Meijeli was appointed honorary vice-chairman of the Colin Ishurian Association precisely because he created this Demi-God Artifact.”

”Such a thing actually exists,” Miss Hilveld said with a hint of curiosity, ”I had only heard of it before. Captain, you know it so well?”

”Does Miss Hilveld have an interest in it?” Fang Hong was a bit flustered; he hadn’t forgotten the noble lady’s behavior inside the Phantom Realm of Dolifen.

”Not really. Although I know it’s magical, it’s the size of half a castle,” Miss Hilveld said with a slight smile, ”But seeing is believing, right? It’s one of the world’s only Magic Guided Conductors that can manipulate Divine Ether?”

Fang Hong nodded.

”That’s a branch of ancient Magic Guided Engineering, and it’s also crucial that the Green Dragon Meijeli is an Elect of Milaila. Divine Ether can only be produced by Deities; mortals shouldn’t easily borrow their power.”

”Still, it’s really convenient,” he couldn’t help but add, ”Using such method to test one’s own Trainees. Killing two birds with one stone. The local Guilds are indeed resourceful. But didn’t other Guilds think of this? As far as I know, the challenge of the Green Dragon is quite famous.”

It was indeed famous, with many people even discussing the challenge above the community level; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so well-informed. After all, it was a trial set by the legendary Green Dragon Meijeli, and that alone was enough to attract attention.

”Because the challenge is difficult, Mr. Knight,” Tata suddenly spoke up, ”The Underground City is actually a shrine built by the Serpent People for Kukulkan—what you would call a pyramid complex. The ruins are divided into twelve levels, descending from the top down, and Meijeli has decreed that one must reach at least the seventh level to be rewarded. Up to now, only a few people have managed to reach it.”

”Even though Mr. Meijeli is an honorary vice-chairman of Colin Ishurian Association, it’s still a Dragon, after all,” Miss Hilveld said with a smile.

Fang Hong felt there was a hidden meaning in those words.

He couldn’t help but look towards Miss Fairy, who quietly informed him that there was an entrance fee to participate in the Green Dragon’s trial, and the ticket was chargeable.

MMP, Fang Hong now understood the implication in Hilveld’s words, that Dragon clearly had a cunning plan to collect wealth through this.

No wonder that creature became a legendary tycoon of the Colin Ishurian Association; collecting money with a Demi-God Artifact, and in such an opportunistic way, was indeed something else.

”But it’s always beneficial for the Guilds; no assessment is better at testing a Trainee’s Combat Strength than a real battle, and since there’s no risk involved, why not do it?” Miss Hilveld said with a smile, ”However, it’s a loss-making trip for Guilds from the Main Continent to come all the way to Fenris Isle, especially since the resources here are poor compared to several areas of the Main Continent.”

”But not entirely,” Tata replied, ”Most of those who reached the seventh level or higher were challengers from outside Fenris Isle. It’s just that later on, the Green Dragon Meijeli imposed a limit on the challenge Level, which reduced the number of attendees.”

In Fang Hong’s heart, the tall image of the legendary Green Dragon completely crumbled.

He couldn’t help asking, ”Who is the person with the best historical record, and how many levels did they reach?”

”I know this,” Hilveld answered, ”Princess just mentioned this to me not long ago; actually, the new record was set not too far back, just two autumns ago during the seasonal tour. The challenge came from the Invoker of Silver Weslan, and her highest record was the ninth level.”

”It was Silver Weslan?” Fang Hong was slightly startled, truly living up to the reputation as the leader of the top ten domestic Guilds. But Silver Weslan’s recent talents over the past two years were only a few, and it was said that the best among them couldn’t compare to the new generation of the second-ranking Guild, Elite.

Who could it be?

Miss Hilveld was already nodding, ”The Little Princess of Silver Weslan, Sophie. The only Invoker Morning Knight of Colin Ishurian—haven’t you heard of her?”
