Pillar of Yita

Like the Gey Ridge Burden Beast, the platform on its back actually approximates the size and load of some smaller boats, and having realized this, Fang Hong suddenly found that he could use this method to practice.

He would start with designing and modifying the Beast of Burden Platform and gradually advance into the domain of building Floating Hovercraft.

He didn’t know if this train of thought was right, but he faintly saw a new path. This path might not be certain, but he believed that he would not come out of this process empty-handed.

If he couldn’t avoid this issue eventually, then why not make some preparations sooner?

Having thought through this, Fang Hong became less anxious.

Although his mind still juggled the contradiction between enhancing the platform’s carrying capacity and the limitations of the Magic Guided Reactor, he couldn’t come up with any idea at the moment.

However, since this was a long-term plan, he could achieve the goal step by step. He even thought that perhaps he could ask Hilveld, after all, she also was a step-daughter inheriting a shipbuilding family legacy, and might have some useful advice after being immersed in that environment?

He then turned back to Luo Yu and said, ”Let’s fix this hole first, I will think of another way. It might not be necessary to do it all at once, but we could at least somewhat enhance Mr. Greyrock’s protection.”

Luo Yu was startled for a moment and unexpectedly glanced at Fang Hong. What he truly admired about him was this very aspect; it seemed like no matter the situation, he always found a way.

At Traveler’s Rest, with both Elpaxin and Dolifen, and even while he was learning to control the Clockwork Fairy from him, he could deeply feel this. In fact, if it hadn’t been for the odd training methods Fang Hong had come up with, he would never have managed to control the Clockwork Fairy in such a short time.

Although his progress was far from the top Combat Artisans in the Guild, it was way faster than when he was trying on his own.

He was a trainee in Tabopolis and was interested in becoming a Combat Artisan, hence, he was quite familiar with the community’s resources and even mastered some exclusive training methods of the Knight Order.

But he really didn’t know where Fang Hong got those peculiar training methods.

In his free time, he had indeed found opportunities to ask about this. But Fang Hong simply told him naturally that he had thought them up himself — because if a method was barely effective, there definitely ought to be another way, it’s just that people hadn’t found it yet.

”Controlling a Clockwork Fairy is not difficult, most people should be able to do it, and I think you, Luo Yu, should be able to as well. If there are problems, there must be some details we haven’t discovered yet. As long as you consider the issue from this angle, you will always find some ideas, and what remains is just problem-solving,”

”Of course, if it involves Dual Control or even Multi-Control, indeed that requires some talent. After all, not everyone is suited to be a Combat Artisan; actually, I still think your talent in Elementals might be higher.”

These were Fang Hong’s original words.

Back then, Tianlan jokingly called him a guinea pig, but Luo Yu didn’t see anything wrong with it, especially since he indeed had learned to control the Clockwork Fairy by now.

Deep down, he was exceptionally grateful to Fang Hong, aware that he was not cut out to be a Combat Artisan. But for this reason, he wanted to fulfill his wish at least in this training phase.

Perhaps he would become an Elementalist in the future, but at least now, he could indulge in his favorite domain.

Thus, after hearing Fang Hong’s words, Luo Yu gently nodded, with no doubt in his mind about whether Fang Hong could really do it.

But Fang Hong, engrossed in his thoughts about renovating the platform, naturally didn’t notice the rich inner world of this usually taciturn person.

Since they needed to stop to repair the platform, the team also needed to rest for a while. He simply went to the forest where Hilveld and Xiesta were cleaning up the battlefield, but before he could ask his question, he received some surprising news from them.

”Xiesta saw someone coming from the direction of Emerald Pass.”

In the team, Lady Noble had the most authority in appraising Spoils of War. Thus, after getting approval from Elf Miss, she simply delegated the task of cleaning up the battlefield to her.

She certainly hadn’t let everyone down, at least Fang Hong could tell at a glance that the Magic Guided Conductors left behind by the Night Lizard People in Miss Maid’s hands were of fine quality, even if damaged; with some repairs, they still could fetch a good price.

But what Hilveld said at the moment wasn’t related to these spoils.

Fang Hong was slightly taken aback; this location wasn’t close to Emerald Pass at all. How on earth did Miss Maid notice someone approaching from Emerald Pass?

As if seeing his thoughts, Hilveld explained, ”Xiesta saw a small boat.”

”A small boat?”

Fang Hong was startled; these boats venturing so deep inland were likely not from an airship but belonged to an Adventure Group using scouting airships, which generally had significant numbers.

In a situation where the identity of the newcomers was unclear, this wasn’t necessarily good news, the only relief being that it certainly wasn’t the Night Lizard People.

”Perhaps it’s someone from the Rain Listener Guild.” He thought for a moment and then realized, ”I didn’t expect them to still be trailing behind us?”
