Pillar of Yita

Yet failing to reach the number 500, in fact, was already quite stressful for allocated load-bearing, converting to Earth’s measurement units, the load was less than the weight of two people.

”Are you thinking of modifying this platform?” Luo Yu asked, sensing the implication in his words, somewhat unexpectedly.

Fang Hong nodded, ”But it’s challenging. At our level, Luo Yu, your design is already perfect, and structurally, there is nothing to criticize. The only method is to reduce weight through the material.”

”Reduce weight through the material?”

”For instance, by using Magic Blackwood, the overall weight of the platform could be reduced by at least thirty percent, and the defense could be further enhanced. Just from this measure alone, we could save up to 2,3000 in load-bearing.”

”Magic Blackwood?” Luo Yu looked at him in surprise, ”But that material is very expensive, do we even have that much money?”

”The team’s funds are just enough,” Atira calculated quietly, but she also looked at Fang Hong, ”But Ade, is it necessary? Didn’t you think that such materials are not needed for this platform?”

”It doesn’t necessarily have to be Magic Blackwood. There are many special materials, and besides, we can also install a more powerful Guy Floating Engine,” Fang Hong replied.

”That would require a more potent Magic Guided Reactor, which isn’t cheap either. Besides, I’ve calculated that the current reactor is already the limit for this platform. If we were to increase the power further, we couldn’t handle such severe Magic Overflow,” Luo Yu answered, frowning.

Fang Hong, of course, understood that in this world, mortals are quite fragile, unable to withstand the erosion of Attribute Ether.

And indeed it was this fragility that led people to develop Magic Guided Engineering, mastering the secrets of Ether Magic Power through the conversion of different Attribute Main Core Crystals by humans, Elves, Dwarves, and the Osh Wilderness People.

But the transformation of the Main Crystal is not without its flaws; it’s no secret that Ether erosion exists due to Magic Overflow, thus demanding its users have the appropriate Magic Aptitude.

And as Character Level increases, along with growth in Magic Aptitude, enhanced physical constitution, and other factors, people can then use higher Level Magic Guided Reactors and Main Core Crystals.

But this is only the case with personal Magic Guided Reactors—

Within the vicinity of large Magic Guided Reactors, Magic Power forms a vortex, and Ether erosion becomes more severe, sometimes just the spilled Magic Power is enough to rip apart a person at sufficiently high power levels.

Indeed, on those large Winged Ships, the naval Magic Guided Reactors are generally placed within specialized compartments, mostly located in the mid-lower decks of the ship.

These compartments have two to three layers of isolation, diligently guarded by rotating Chief Mages, always under strict protection. Yet even so, accidents caused by Magic Overflow from the engine room still occur from time to time on the airship.

Therefore, Mr. Greyrock’s simple, unprotected platform is not something that one can casually enhance by adding a Magic Guided Engine.

Fang Hong, hearing this, also sighed in resignation.

Indeed, modifying such a platform is not a simple matter, at least casually bringing up a technical issue was somewhat beyond his capacity.

Actually, the problem of Magic Overflow from the Magical Engine is not unsolvable; for example, installing a high-efficiency precision Magic Guided Reactor—although it sacrifices efficiency, it is much safer than a regular reactor.

Another solution is the Magic Drainage Device, which collects the spilled Magic Power, and can also be used to store energy in the Magic Guided Conductor.

The last and most primitive method is to build isolation chambers like those on the Winged Ships, but these solutions seem rather impractical for him at the moment.

The precision engine is a proprietary technology of the Osh Empire, and although the technique has spread somewhat beyond its boundaries, even if Fang Hong were lucky enough to obtain the blueprints, his Attribute and Knowledge reserves would not meet the learning requirements.

The Magic Drainage Device is even more high-end, not to mention bulky, and in Eteliria even reaching the Artisan Master level doesn’t guarantee that one can build such a device—it requires substantial financial and technical backing, a powerful team, and the capability to install such devices on main battle ships is scarce in this world.

Besides, if he had the ability to make a Magic Drainage Device, it would be more cost-effective to simply build an Airship, rather than wasting time modifying such a platform?

The last method was the simplest; isolation chambers required no advanced technology, primarily demanding special materials like lead and Mithril, but the cost-effectiveness was low, and it was also too cumbersome.

You certainly cannot build a castle on Mr. Greyrock’s back, can you?

However, this challenge wasn’t enough to make Fang Hong give up but instead sparked a new idea in him.

He had once promised Hilveld to fulfil her father’s last wish, and he understood in his heart that he would eventually enter this field.

Yes, the technologies needed for platform modification are closely related to Eteliria’s airship building techniques, even considered an entry-level domain of Eteliria’s shipbuilding industry.

In fact, if you consider the required technology for it—you get large Magic Guided Engines, Guy Generators, Lift Cabin Sections, precision Magic Guided Reactors, and Magic Drainage Device.

Or to say, most of Eteliria’s contemporary large Magic Guided Devices are actually naval, and the Beast of Burden Platform can essentially be seen as a small naval platform.
