Pillar of Yita

”But I still don’t quite understand?”

The tall Lion Person leaned against the pillar, puffing on his pipe and replied, ”Fuli, you’re not at that age yet, so naturally you don’t understand. In our place, true warriors, no matter how severe their injuries, won’t even blink. Do you know why?”

Tianlan curiously looked at Big Cat.

”Because they think it makes them look brave. Males use what they consider ’bravery’ to attract the attention of fine females. Of course, there’s some reason to it, as those pretty little lionesses always like to find males who give them a sense of security.”

”So who is Brother Ade trying to impress then, Sister Hilveld?” Tianlan looked around and felt that only this beautiful noble lady was worthy of her captain.

Everyone burst into laughter upon hearing this.

Miss Maid turned her head aside as Hilveld smiled and asked Tianlan, ”Fuli, did you just sell me out like that?”

”Cough, cough, cough!” Fang Hong couldn’t help coughing loudly.

This startled Tianlan, who quickly asked, ”Brother Ade, are you alright?”

”It’s okay, Fuli,” Atira said with a suppressed laugh, pulling Tianlan back, ”Ade is just a bit too drunk on the Ether. Inside the Sky Sea, the Wind Element is several times denser than on the ground, which is a bit too much for a Non-Attribute like him, but he’ll adjust soon.”

Fang Hong, after hearing this, rubbed his forehead and finally understood; no wonder he had been feeling so seasick, stowaways really have no rights at all.

And Parker was still going on and on, ”Weak humans, unlike the Papalarians, don’t get seasick. We should probably find a more reliable person to be captain, like me, for instance.”

However, he was somewhat disappointed that no one responded to him.

As Princess Briana said, the Burden Beasts in Grey Ridge looked a bit listless, but it was just because they had been startled during the day’s transport onto the ship.

This was the middle deck of the Berio, on the same level as the gun deck, with the wind from the Cloud Sea rushing in through the open hatches, thick with the smell of livestock hair.

Like other merchant ships, Berio also had its livestock pens on the same level as the straight-through gun deck.

In Eteliria, there’s a long history of keeping livestock on airships; this is true not only for merchant ships but also for warships.

It was originally to improve the food for the officers, so military winged boats primarily kept small livestock and poultry.

However, merchant ships are different because they handle the transport of various large Beasts of Burden, so they often have bigger livestock pens, and some ships even use the gun deck exclusively for transporting Beasts of Burden.

The reason for choosing the middle deck chambers is primarily due to sanitary considerations, as animal excrement on ships can easily breed bacteria, making the better-ventilated middle decks often the best choice.

The livestock pens on the Berio weren’t large, clearly indicating that it was a typical cargo ship. Initially, it only bred some horses and pterosaurs and other medium-sized Beasts of Burden, and Mr. Greyrock’s stay took up quite a bit of space.

Obviously, the sailors had specifically cleaned it up before he came aboard, even dismantling many individual beast pens.

All this was not out of their own goodwill, but at the specific instructions of Princess Briana. Therefore, after Luo Yu and Tianlan finished their inspection, Luo Yu specifically thanked her.

Princess Briana didn’t put on any airs of a legendary hero or Elf Royalty and just laughed and shook her head, ”You’ve done a great favor for the Elpaxin Artisan Association and for me. Even if that girl hadn’t asked, I’d still owe you a favor.”

She looked at Hilveld, ”Besides, you’re friends with this little lady.”

Fang Hong curiously looked at Hilveld, his curiosity about the noble girl’s identity growing.

After finishing her statement, Princess Briana then asked Hilveld, ”But since you’re heading to Golande, you must be aware of the situation there, right?”

Hilveld heard this and lightly shook her head, smiling unabashedly, ”Honestly, I’m not very clear on that.”

Princess Briana looked at her seriously.

Hilveld looked at Fang Hong with a smile, ”Let me introduce him to you, this is my captain, and we have a covenant. Wherever he goes, I go.”

Tianlan, puzzled by their cryptic conversation, curiously asked, ”What exactly is going on in Golande, Sister Princess?”

This endearment made Princess Briana particularly pleased, her green eyes narrowed, but her elegant brows still furrowed slightly, looking somewhat helplessly at Hilveld and Fang Hong.

”Golande Harbor is under martial law, didn’t you know?”

”What? Golande Harbor is under martial law?” Fang Hong was shocked, ”When did this happen, how did we not know, what happened?”

The others looked surprised as well.

Atira and Reed exchanged looks; they had been to Golande three months ago when Colin Ishurian’s Royal Capital was still fine with no signs of major events about to unfold.

Princess Briana specifically glanced at Hilveld, ”The Brave Goddess is back in Evil Woman Bay, expected to arrive at the kingdom’s capital by the end of this month.”

”The Brave Goddess?” Tianlan was curious, ”That name sounds so familiar.”

Gita frowned and repeated the name softly.
