Pillar of Yita

Almost simultaneously, Recall also shouted, ”Don’t retreat, form up!”

The latter immediately looked at Fang Hong with a hint of surprise, this being the second time. During the previous tactical discussion, Recall had actually noticed that this young man might have some talent in handling Flexible Constructs, but was lacking a lot in tactical analysis.

An excellent Combat Artisan needed to be more than just a Construct handler; they must also be a superb tactician, for the ability to Multi-Control gave this profession a natural advantage in deploying troops and formulating strategies.

If one merely possessed the level of a handler, although they could reach the ultimate level of mastery, wasn’t every top Combat Artisan also a top handler? Being inferior tactically meant an innate disadvantage.

Indeed, the reason the Guild valued Red Leaf so highly was due to her natural gift in this area. And he knew that Red Leaf held this young man in high regard, yet he faintly felt that perhaps Red Leaf had misjudged this point.

To him, this young man seemed more like a top-notch quest and plot explorer, a kind of talent that was also rare among the Grand Guilds, but still not as scarce as frontline top Combat Artisans and Fairy Masters.

However, at this moment, the young man’s performance in on-the-spot commanding puzzled him.

Even Red Leaf, apparently, didn’t perform as well as this young man. So much so that Recall couldn’t tell for a moment whether the young man was just putting on an act, or if his capacity for quick thinking in the face of changing circumstances was actually a form of talent?

But what Fang Hong did next surprised him even more.

In a short time, Fang Hong had located the person who had been shot. Without bothering to see who it was, he helped the latter up from the ground, then reached into his waist pouch and pulled out a Hand Crossbow.

Raising the Hand Crossbow, he aimed at the members of the Dragonfire Guild in the distance.

At this point, Big Sister seemed to finally notice his distinctive mask among the crowd. Her expression turned from disbelief to a mix of anger and surprise, or perhaps both.

Then she started shouting in his direction. Amidst the chaotic gunfire, Fang Hong couldn’t clearly hear what the woman was yelling, but looking at her mouth, he could roughly make out the meaning.

As expected, the Gunslingers all turned their guns towards his direction.

Without a second thought, Fang Hong pulled the trigger of the Hand Crossbow.

With a soft bang, a column-shaped Crossbow Bolt flew in that direction, tracing an arc towards the feet of the Dragonfire Guild’s Gunslingers.

The woman, about to mock Fang Hong for his lousy aim, was abruptly pushed aside before she could speak as the assassin by her side tackled her to the ground.

”Close your eyes!” Fang Hong shouted.

The bright Flash came and went in an instant, and though Fang Hong didn’t know how many of his allies were affected, he was certain that the area around the Dragonfire Guild’s Gunslingers had become a disaster zone. Glancing in that direction, he saw only a few people who seemed unaffected.

Turning back, Recall had naturally closed his eyes and turned away early on, understanding what it was the moment Fang Hong pulled out the Hand Crossbow—a High-Effect Illuminating Bomb.

This device was one of the trinkets often used by Alchemists and commonly seen in major guild wars. Since such devices could easily reveal one’s position at night, Chosen typically opted for Fluorescent Markers during conventional adventures instead of carrying these bombs.

What Recall hadn’t expected was that Fang Hong not only carried such a device but also used it in such a situation.

And it produced a surprising effect—
